if ps5 is 2019 is nextbox also 2019? if not this would mean that ps5 is the best place to play cp2077, ms would have lost a customer here.

Just a guess but I don't think MS will be far behind, they might even be earlier once they know PS5's (rough) specs. Don't think they want to give Sony an inch after all since their investors and management likely won't tolerate another Xbone-esque "failure" (comparitively speaking ofc).
 
Yeah this is all random and wishful thinking, nothing credible. Some things might turn out to be true by pure chance but that's it. This has no credibility whatsoever.
 
I wonder if all of this PS5 talk is done on purpose just before the holidays to stifle XBOX1X sales. I got my tin foil hat on.

A Monster means at least 13 TF and 24 GBs of RAM in my opinion. Anything less than that is just a good upgrade to next-gen (that I think could still be a great console).

Maybe they want to hold their cards to their chest until a later date. Or they don't want to share the attention with all of the third parties and Microsoft. Maybe Microsoft is paying to show all third parties at their boot and Sony doesn't want to enter in that fight.

A way to get all third parties in their event without having to outbid microsoft would be doing their own thing a few months later. Doing a PS5 event where they show their own exclusives and all the next gen versions of third parties at a date closer to PS5's launch.

Sony's last E3 was their weakest in a very long time. So maybe they don't want to have another shitty E3 the year they are launching new hardware and are trying to do something different.


I don't know. It's sad and feels wrong that the market leader isn't going to attend E3. But maybe they have their reasons.

Absolutely! But Sony is in a much better situation in this regard because it is an older system and there are exclusives that make it a compelling system. The ONEX is in a bad place right now.
 
We need to have a conversation about Shawn Layden. So far since he took over WWS things have...changed. And not for the better. Since he took over, sony have had in my opinion, an awful 2018 E3 conference, Skipped gamescom, paris game show, cancelled psx 2019, and now e3 2019. TGS was fine but that's probably because its outside his sphere of influence. He said he doesn't see the need to expand sony's first party even though their biggest rival has doubled their first party studios in less than a year.

I think Shawn Layden is a walking disaster for playstation and is coasting off the success if Andrew House and Adam Boyes. E3 2018 was a bizarre, arrogant, almost F-U to anybody watching from home poorly paced, and was short. I think this is a reflection of Shawn Layden's leadership style, smug, arrogant, strange, and short both in temper and foresight. Change my mind.

I do not own PS4 or plan to own a PS5 just yet, or really try to change your mine since I am not really following what Shawn is doing. but the reason they say theres no E3 show is hinted to because of PS5 and they will show off what they have when they desire to. year before the release of PS4 and Xbone I thought it was a quite disappointing year in games in the volume... or am I thinking PS3 xbox360 era? damn I am old...

The thing is all those shows are just a huge expense and that money could be used in other places.

Sure I loved watching those shows but there was nothing there that could not be shows off Nintendo Direct style.

It's be hilarious if they present the PS5 as $500 but there's a $400 model and they just don't even mention it like they did with the $599 PS3 when there was a cheaper model on the same damn slide.

I don't much care about LIVE energy and a real LIVE setting.

Like I said sure I loved watching the shows but I would imagine its a huge expense and would rather that money be spent elsewhere.

Now if Sony does not deliver a great machine at a decent price then all this doesn't matter.

Just saying the sky is not falling yet, for me anyhow.

You're smart enough to know that if the Baseline for all game creation next-gen was a 11 TF console with 16 GBs of usable RAM, that's not a POS system, nor a midrange PC. Come on SonGoku SonGoku

Be prepared for a letdown then, since you are so caught up on arbitrary numbers.

Xbox One X GPU is a beast already. And you are adding three baseline PS4s on top of it. Think about that one for a second. And we are getting a much improved CPU as well this time, Jaguar was and is a pain point for a long time.

And in addition, more RAM on top of what you said. And ALSO consider that no game is actually being designed with the Xbox One X GPU in mind. We will never ever see a real Xbox One X game.

If PS 5 be 12 TF and 16 GB of memory and be cost $500 trust me that the whole internet will laugh Sony in the face, so it's not even a monster in 2019, sorry to disappoint someone, monster will be with the graphics of 3 times the capable Xbox X and memory of 24,32 GB and the last generation CPU with a minimum of 8 cores, everything else is a fog

I mean, ofcourse they aren't final, we are still quite a bit away. I reckon a January/February announcement (Or even December if Sony feels lucky) and Q4 2019 to (max) Q2 2020 release.

Which seems logical in my book. Console development takes time, especially these ones where energy conservation, like Nintendo does succesfully, is less in the playfields of Microsoft and Sony.

edit: 500bucks for a product that is going to be scarce is not that bad. people still have bad memories of 600dollar ps3 but that was 12-13 years ago. take inflation into account and 500dollars is very reasonable.

But is it that still a monster by end of Q4 2019/Q2 2020? I doubt it. CPU power is the biggest improvement, GPU wise we could be well underway.

I just think that the X can atleast keep within distance of this PS5 really.

I mean, is that really surprising? Big dev houses have alpha devkits usually up to 1.5 years (Relatively, not absolutely) before final release. Guerilla did Shadowfall on Alpha Dev Kits not being aware that they would get 8 GB ram in the end (They developed against 4 GB).

I reckon most devs now have a fascimile of what Microsoft thinks their next Xbox will look like, subject to heavy change.
