Post your Top 3 multiplayer FPS maps

Here are mine.

1. Facing Worlds from Unreal Tournament 2004/UT: Simple CTF map, no hiding places, straight face to face action. Defiantly my most played map. Just played it this moring with the old Facing Worlds tune from original Unreal Tournament, great stuff :D

2. Wake Island from Battlefield 1942/Desert Combat/BF Vietnam: I just love this map, the bases are close to each other so you don't have to walk too much, many hiding places, huge map

I agree with you. I just thought of DM4. Quake had the best multiplayer maps!

yeah, i've never enjoyed any deathmatch game more than quake, but i don't know if that's due to me being younger back then or the quality of the game. It was totally unbalanced with only one viable weapon really :lol

I also had a LOT of fun deathmatching on the first level of doom 2..

any of the Quake II q2dm# maps rule over all for deathmatch. q2dm1 being the best of all of those masterpieces.

Facing Worlds from Unreal Tournament was really great for CTF

wake island on BF1942 was awesome

soldier of fortune II demo map kicked all kinda ass as well. i forget it's name. it was a masterpiece of design for elimination mode.

mp_beach in RtCW was also incredible.

but the greatest of them all is Halo's "Chill Out" map, playing Team Deathmatch with Shotguns only.

Dwango5 Map01 for Doom 2. Played a lot of that map back on the DWANGO service when I was a moderator there. I don't think I could have afforded the countless hours I played on DWANGO without being a mod. :lol

Lots of people still play that map over ZDaemon, I should find a game for a bit.

You mean q3dm17. Rocked soooo much.
That was excellent level. That was the map I played on the most.
Eh, just for the hell of it, let me throw in two R & C maps.

Hoven Gorge- Awesome level, nodes are very well placed, and it reminds me of Sidewinder

Korgon Outpost- Controlling the middle node will change the environment to suit your team.

CS_Office - I have a set routine entering the building as a CT. I can usually kick a lot of ass.

CS_Yemen - A custom map. It was the most played map on our office lan.

CS_Assault2k - another custom map that tweaked the standard cs_assault level a bit. Very challenging and fun.

q3dm17 - The Longest Yard

q2dm1 - The Edge

q3dm17 gets a bit absurd with high-level play, but it's still my favorite Q3 map. Skylounge is there mostly for nostalgia's sake.

This really isn't one on my top 3 (they have all been already listed...), but I feel compelled to list it for some reason... damn you tork.

Stalwart XL (UT)

I don't know if I can narrow it to three but...

Lockout- Halo 2
Pipeline- America's Army
Wake Island- Battlefield 1942
Blood Gulch- Halo: Combat Evolved (Coagulation Sucks)
Dust- Counter-Strike: Source

1) Facility (GE)
2) Complex (GE)
3) Sidewinder/Ivory Tower (Halo/2)

The HL-2 Facility map brings tears to my eyes, can't wait for the GE mod to be released.

Stalwart XL (UT)

That map owned

1. CTF Thorns V.2 (UT)
2. Liandri (UT)
3. Zanzibar (Halo 2)

Ooh! Ooh!

That DM64 map in Quake 2. The sewer one...

That sh!t was amazing at the time.

Dm2, Dm3, Dm4, Dm6 from Quake1 using standard NetQuake code

Map7 and Map20 from Doom2

Qcon98 custom-map for Quake1

Q2dm1 from Quake2 (even though the game sucked)

Q3dm7, Q3tourney2, and D3m13 (I think from Quake3)

Finally.. the soccer stadium from Blood (the multiplayer in that game was excellent)

cs_office
cs_militia
cs_siege

Still wondering why they took all of n0th1ng's maps out of CS. Because of his suicide?

It's tough to wittle the list down to three maps, so here's a rough estimation:

cs_assault.jpg

cs_assault - Counter-Strike - A tad lopsided, but always good fun.
Always wondered how it'd play as a bomb map.

mp_shop.jpg

mp_shop - Soldier of Fortune II - Pretty versatile, great as straight deathmatch.
Roof sniping was classic.

halo-2-20041107100414114.jpg

Headlong - Halo 2 - Fast-paced CTF/Assault.
Love the roof rocket on defense, hate the roof snipers. ;)
