Way to fight that opioid epidemic.

So, are any of Trump's friends CEOs of private prison companies?

Probably

A private prison company currently being sued for human trafficking expects to handle one quarter of President Donald Trump’s immigrant detention.

GEO Group has close ties to Trump’s political circles. The company gave $250,000 to Trump’s inauguration, according to USA Today. A subsidiary of the company gave $225,000 to a super PAC helmed by the Mercer family. And Rebekah Mercer, hedge fund manager Robert Mercer’s daughter, is widely reported to be one of the most influential donors in Trump’s circle. And last October, the company retained two former aides to now-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to lobby the federal government on prison contracts, as Politico reported.

Junior, please.
This is absolutely crazy when you consider that it's already fully legal in several states and will be in all of Canada next year (where it's basically legal already anyway).

Just batshit insane. Either it's a personal crusade by a bitter old man, or he is taking bribes from the industries that are going to be affected by legalization. Or both.

It would surprise me if he isn't. I've definitely met smarter crackheads in my life than Trump.

Trump strikes me as the type of person who stays away from alcohol and drugs because he's terrified of losing control.

But that's the overall revenue from sales right?
Wondering how much the states actually take in.

But still... I'm impressed.

Looks to be about 200 million in tax revenue. That's just recreational, the medical market is nothing to scoff at either.

Republicans/Democrats/Media outlets: "We have an opioid epidemic in this country bolstered by unemployment and lack of access to treatment centers in low-income areas."

Jeff Sessions: "The mud races smoke too much of the devil's weed. Let's fuck 'em over."
