Pragmata Demo Switch 2 vs Base PS5 Graphics Comparison + FPS Test

It's not like it's a low-fi game that gets 120 fps on base PS5. Neither quality nor performance mode maintain 60 fps. Great Switch 2 port given that.

DLSS is a beast.

Many were expecting something like this, but alas, DLSS is too strong.

It's not just DLSS, which is absolutely brilliant tech, but it seems the Series S is using significantly lower texture settings, maybe due to its RAM situation, but even then, 9gb of slower ram vs 8 gb of faster RAM. It looks like developers really don't give 2 shits about optimizing games for the Series S anymore because, At least in texture settings, Series S should not be getting trounced like this. I mean, concerns were replayed to Microsoft regarding the Series S at the start of the gen, and now with Microsoft basically giving up, developers see the writing on the wall, it seems devs are just putting their games on the Series S at this point without diverting serious resources for targeted optimizations.

10GB was a mistake.
Series S was a mistake from the start, but I mean its 9gb of slow ram vs 8gb of faster ram available for games between the Switch 2 and Series S. The Series S should not be getting trounced in texture quality atleast with the hardware available. It looks like a case of optimization prioroties developers see the writing on the wall; devs aren't going to go through any real hassle when putting their games on the Series S at this point and arent diverting serious resources for targeted optimizations. Series S will be the main platform for Microsoft as it is easily swappable with the ps5 main build and as long as it runs on the Series S, well, good enough.

I mean its not an admirable look for devs, but well, the Switch 2 has the potential to reach over 100million users, and the payoff is definitely worth it. Meanwhile, with the Series in general, sales aren't even remotely sustainable, and devs will basically say ef it with the Series S at this point since devs see Microsoft basically all but closing the chapter on the X series.

Switch 2 uses DLSS, Series S uses Copilot

Exactly this. We had FF7:R having better textures on Series S than Switch 2 for example. The ram difference between Series S and Switch 2 isn't that big of a deal that it should have a massive impact. They're just not bothering to optimise the Series S version as much lol.

Tried the demo on my daughter Series S to compare, IQ is way better on Switch 2, performance is similar. Is matter of time that a comparison is going to pop on YouTube.
Seem a legitim source. Hope no one find an excuse to blame you about something, people can be really terrible there.

I played through both the steam demo and switch 2. While of course the steam demo looks better than any console they both played exactly the same thanks to a high frame rate. They made the right choice.

The one bad thing about this game is if you are someone who plays a lot of different platforms all the time you forget which button is which. lol.

I will say the more I play the demo the more I enjoy it.

RT on the Pro seems to be up a notch from base/SX. PSSR's usual weak point with RT is present as well.
REngine is performing better on PS5 in this game. It usually favors Series X, doesn't it?

RE4 was running with higher FPS (maybe even resolution as well) on base PS5 vs. SX.

Just tried the demo on PS5. I'm really liking it. The whole vibe and art style just intrigues me somehow. Love sci-fi.

Don't get how long the hacking benefit stays up on enemies, but I'll figure that out when the game is out. The boss at the end was pretty fun.

Get ready for more and more games looking better on Switch 2 than on Series S. Not only will DLSS improve with time, but developers are going to get more familiar with the hardware while they have already plateaued with the Series S.
This was inevitable. I think that Witcher 4 is going to be the fnal nail in the coffin as CDPR is going to try flexing on Switch 2.

You are talking about capcom they made SF6 look better on base ps4 then series s. dlss is not magic when a dev uses proper TAA it should look better then a weaker switch 2 just look at most games comparisons. game is running terrible on switch 2 in docked mode without VRR its gonna be bad experience maybe when it comes out they will fix the series s version and the switch 2 fps since they still have months before release. if they ship it like this for both system it just shows capcom is a very incompetent dev for weaker hardware.
