Pragmata |OT| Tactical Hacking Action

Loving this so far, but wish I bought it on PS5 Pro, my 4090 is loud and hot with Path tracing on, and I've had a few crashes and had to tweak my undervolt as it obviously pushed it harder than anything i've ever thrown at it before has.
Rather messing with the voltages I've found lowering the power limit to like 80-85 and the doing an oc by the mhz you lose doing so gets you better temps lower noise overall.

I am so conflicted on this game so far. I can't tell if I'm enjoying myself or if I'm bored. It's missing something, and I'm not sure what it is. It's challenging. The last boss I beat was giving me a hard time, so that's not it.

Finished the game. Boy do I have some thoughts.

That fight with Eight was like 20x harder than anything else in the game including all challenge areas. When she gets to the last 5% she goes completely crazy with shit that is almost impossible to dodge and does it so constantly that you can only do that. I only beat her by getting good enough early on to get her down to that 3rd phase while saving my overdrive. Making the boss waaaaaaaay harder like that completely ruined the vibe. Took it completely out of being a story and right into just being a game that decided to be an asshole. When I finally beat her I didn't feel hype or accomplished, only relieved that it was over and basically sickened by the game so I wanted to take a break. Of course, there won't be a break after the final boss, so I was just completely knocked out of immersion and annoyed for the entire ending. This is a bad enough offense I'd knock the game down 2 whole points for a 7/10. What was such a brilliant experience for the entire ride just got a massive shit taken on it at the pinnacle moments that should have been the most rewarding and most engaging and moving. But I didn't see Hugh and Diana anymore, I only saw game characters forcibly playing cinematics while I wanted to do something else until I was in a better mood. Now it opened up NG+ and some other special mode. Do I want to check those out? Nope. The hype train derailed entirely. Extremely poor finish, Pragmata team. You should have taken more notes from other Capcom teams.

there're few things worse in gaming than having a game you otherwise really enjoyed for the most part stumble down the final stretch & leave you to finish with that bad taste in your mouth. my sympathies, mate...

I got a little more bitching to do…

When you die they really have to do this slomo falling down fade to red and Diana crying out like the SNAAAAAAAKE thing in MGS… but then you wake up in the hub and Diana is discussing what happened in the fight and you go back and Eight is like "You never learn" so it basically made the fact I got my ass kicked again and again into canon, which is completely absurd and played part into destroying the sense of immersion.

Rolled credits at just under 14 hours. I hunted down every collectable in the game but stopped short of doing all the training missions as I was getting bored of them around the twenty mark. There are times when the combat feels really good, but towards the end I was growing tired of the encounters. Outside of the shotgun, I didn't really love any of the arsenal. Bosses are kind of disappointing as they don't provide much of a challenge, but the game really isn't all that difficult anyway beyond small arena encounters with 3+ enemies. Some of the training missions do provide a challenge though, it's just tough for me to want to go into those without my upgraded gear. I liked Hugh even if he gave me some California surfer vibes from time to time and Diana was great. The story is on the predictable side and you probably don't want to think of the realities of the conclusion, but it's the journey and not the destination and the budding relationship between our protagonists is the highlight of the game.

I kind of hope this is a one and done thing for Capcom and the resolution of the game would lend itself to that.

True ending 100% suggests otherwise. I'd personally love to see Capcom take another stab at this combat system; it's just oozing with potential even if they already did a solid job of introducing new ideas that work around the core hacking concept.

Are you people playing with jap voices?

Because i briefly tried the demo in eng and the few lines from the child were as annoying as every child in videogames :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Found an upgrade ans she is all " wow now we can beat things faster and better" :messenger_pensive:

Can you try the Italian dub so I don't have to? Thanks.
I think Diana is very well dubbed in English. Not annoying at all.

Finished this over the weekend, just the hard mode run to get the platinum. Solid high 8/10 for me, there's a few minor things I feel are odd that would make the experience feel high "high quality" like I feel theres a cutscene of you traveling to each new zone for first time just missing where Hugh and Diana could bond and talk about what the zone was used for briefly.

Instead you just appear there at the station. Its the one thing I felt clearly stood out as "cut corners"

But these are minor complaints it was a fun romp through a fun little adventure. The extra content added at the end was a bit basic but still fun and opens the game up for a sequel.

Im hoping Hugh and Eight team up to get back to earth. Having a bratty sidekick who is begrudgingly helping you for their own self interest would be a cool sequel I think.

Finished it yesterday. To me the game feels very PS3-like, which takes me instantly back in time.

10 out of 10

God damn this game is so fucking addictive. The progression is amazing as you unlock more stuff the combat becomes better.

It going to be hard to choose between this game and MHStories 3 as my GOTY.

I'm only about six hours in but I love this game so much. It looks great, runs great, and the gameplay is fun and interesting, but above all Capcom has managed to make a sidekick that I actually enjoy having around for a change. Diana and Hugh are great together and make me actually care about what's happening to them.

Everything about this game takes me back to when games, and gaming, were less cynical and just pure enjoyment. It feels like one of those games I'm going to dread coming to an end. Unless something drastically changes this is my new GotY.

Isn't that hard. Hint there is a barrier gun for a reason.

I'm already to end of new game plus. 👍

Alright folks, jumping in.

Starting in Resolution mode and hope the VRR keeps my back. The RT reflections seem like a big thing to sacrifice.

So I purposefully avoided playing the demo, despite having it downloaded.

This is my first time doing the hacking mini-game in the combat and I'm happy it's not overbearing, you can do it within ~2 seconds, at least for the start combat areas.

Hugh is a blank slate carbon copy generic hero dude but Diana is adorable as all hell.

Just you wait lol

That ending, god damn it. It is so drawn out & contrived, and yet.....I'm a dad of a 2 year old daughter, so it hit me like a hammer to the gut.

At least Diana finally got to see the beach

Yoo they even got future versions of Mr. Racoon in there, lol.

So far the game's been a blast. Easy to control. Like a lighter version of Vanquish with a bit of Binary Domain in there.

It gets pretty hard on controller later, feels like im playing a fighting game lol

Seems like this game is much easier with mouse

Resident Evil, Vanquish, Binary Domain, Halo (that cat suit looks like spartan armor with cat ears), and TLOU is what I was often reminded of.

Clocked 4 hours today and I'm hooked!

I was worried Diana would be a standard escort mission headache but she actually adds a cool layer to the combat strategy.

And the gameplay is much snappier than I anticipated. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

I like the game so far but I have to say this is one of the buggier games in terms of graphics that I've played on PC in a while.

  • Floor textures often don't feel like displaying. Sometimes when they do, they flicker in and out.
  • Horrible color banding with frame gen enabled for some reason.
  • Graphic setting changes don't seem to fully take unless I fully exit the game.
  • Turning on ray tracing introduces some of the worst shimmering and "boiling" artifacts that I've seen, regardless of the preset model being used.
All this is pretty surprising considering I just played a game (RE Requiem) using the same engine without an issue just a month ago.

This game has had me in its clutches since it unlocked last Thursday night, played it all weekend and I'm sitting here at work watching old trailers and reviews, biding my time until I go home and start playing again. I haven't had a game affect me this way, since, shit... I dunno. RE9?

Finished up till the 2nd big boss, that felt like a set piece straight out of Vanquish. The hacking is getting more complex but still nothing too over bearing. Just saw that there's a module for 'auto hacking' as well, will check it out later.

Glad to see this getting such strong support, and for a new IP, too.

I'm not ready to pay full price for it, but I plan to add to the sale count when it comes down in price a bit.

If it's similar in gameplay to RE, TLOU, and Binary Domain, then I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Feminists who don't understand men write the dumbest shit.

lots of strange reactions to this game. let's clear some things up:childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys).men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else's.men are not nurturers. men don't gush over cute kids in public. men don't have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator.and you'd be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points.this should explain why a "dad simulator" game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps.

6 years ago they announced this game, 6 years later the game has truly delivered on the promise of a brand new IP. In an otherwise new ip risk averse economics, Capcom has done the impossible. Not only have they crafted a brand new IP which isn't a sequel or a remake/remaster but they gotten me so hooked to the world, combat and overall gameplay the same way I was hooked by Horizon Zero Dawn/Death Stranding 1. I'm about 11 hours in and thoroughly enjoying it. Only major criticism, the pistol sucks with no upgrade path to improve it's rate of fire or damage.

This game fucking rules.

And everyone participating on the paternal nature that seems to have evolved out of this game in an insanely serious way is a giant fucking weirdo and I hope you never have kids. It's just a dopey videogame what is wrong with you people.

er ... how the hell did you make it 11 hours without seeing the upgrade terminal in the station where you can upgrade your gun, health and hacking parameters?

The game very specifically points it to you when you first unlock it.
