Preorder Quantum Break for Xbox One, Get Windows 10 version for free - also HW specs

So it's the first AAA game in 2016 that supports only 1080p? If it requires 980Ti for 1080p/60fps then all the other Resolutions are out of the Question as you very well understand fellow GAFers!

Except if they are talking 4K in Recommended Settings

Strange times ahead of us.

Pretty simple, if you got PC version with boxed copy, you could preorder the XBox One game, use the PC code, return the Boxed copy one game, get PC game for free.

There is precedent: The disc version Portal 2 on the PlayStation 3 came with a free Steam copy of Portal 2.

will receive the Windows 10 version of the game downloadable at the Windows Store via redemption code.*

why is there confusion? says so right in OP and it's for PC so digital only isn't that big an issue, is it?

Truly, the X1 is equivalent to a $2500 PC.

You clearly didn't understand what I was saying. So I'll dumb it down to your level.

Because with DX12 developers can do a lot more than what was possible before, the ultra settings on PC will probably consists of stuff that you didn't see before. Thus you don't know what hardware it requires, Thus a $2500 PC could be very well warranted.

Wow at those specs. Might need to do another upgrade soon even though I have a 980 and i74790k processor. I'm right at the line.

So digital buys get the Windows 10 version for free as long as they pre-order the Xbox One version? Please let this apply to Canada too, otherwise I'm going to go apeshit.

I remember seeing a benchmark where Nvidia cards used a lot more vram compared to AMD cards at the same video settings. Maybe that's why the Fury X is recommended.

Awesome!

Personally, I love the whole 20% on prime / BB GCU. Sucks this promotion is only for digital.

I'm curious to find out what the benchmarks will be like and if these specs are an exaggeration again, like they always are.

So if you buy digital on xbone you'll get a code for Windows 10 store version?

As primarily a pc and xbone user this is god damn awesome.

Those rec specs are insane! But I'm assuming I'll get a fairly good experience at 1080p on my 2500k and 970. Going to be so cool transferring saves between versions too!.

I see that posted off and on but is there any proof to it? I was under the impression it was cut back because Remedy had trouble designing an open world game that would work with Alan Wake's narrative.
Yeah I have the making of book for Alan Wake and it was changed for gameplay reasons. One of the reasons the game has such a huge draw distance is because they had built the engine with the open world in mind.

It's a great book. Wish we could get something like that for Quantum Break.

Oh this is awesome. MS is really going all in on the windows 10 stuff. Love the fact that saves can transfer. That's just amazballs.

I have a 4790 but its clocked at 3.6ghz. Although I wonder how my 970 will handle this. I think I'll play this on Xbox one first and wait for total biscuits port report to see. We don't know what effects are upgraded or changed from the Xbox one version.

Ah balls. I have an Ssd on my main system and a 1 terabyte hard drive for games. This game will take up a ton of space as I only have 90gig left on the Ssd. Does windows 10 support installing on another drive?

Yep that is exactly what I did! Still don't see a reason to upgrade tbh.

I reckon we will be fine :P

Sometimes, I do wish I had at least an i7-2600k. It is a bit ridiculous that I've had the same processor for 5 years! Very unlike me. Maybe Kaby Lake will finally get me to upgrade.

The wording is weird, and doesn't sound like proper cross-buy (a single "ownership check" on your account) if it needs a special token for Win 10?

They may or not be because we have no idea what these are based on.

people are freaking out because it says recommended which usually means to run the game at high with those specs.

people in between should be able to run the game no problem 30+ at 1080p on normal settings. This whole Recommended specs thing has become a "omg my PC is above min but doesn't meet rec means its going to run like shit on my rig!"

They probably should do what Nvidia did for witcher and just tell people if they run this rig they can expect roughly this performance on this setting.

Why would I want the XB1 version if it's coming out on PC? I'll just get the PC version of the game if it's worth picking up. I don't know anything about this game though so we'll see...

Or buy XB1 and get PC for free, unless you can get it cheaper for the W10 store (I doubt that, for preorder)
