Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown coming to Steam on August 8

the fact that you play as the guy from black panther (not actually, he just looks identical) is really weird and out of place, but it's a fine game. The story is total gibberish, no way could it be labeled woke because it makes no sense.
Persian people would have very dark skin, to be clear. They are not white.

Clearly not though, as this isn't even the first one where this was a thing. But you do you. Your inability to read posts properly is absolutely not my problem.
It IS though, which is the entire point...which is what you replied to, saying it wasn't and compared it to IP in which it is the opposite. You play as the Prince of Persia in every other game...including this one. That is not true of either Zelda nor Metroid.

Mental gymnastics on full display.

it's not the skin color, it's the hair, the outfit, it's the guy from black panther. just a weird choice.
Here is Sargon with a different outfit and hair:

The Prince of Persia game where you don't play as the Prince of Persia.

Story spoilers, but you're wrong:

In-game text reveals that Sargon is in fact an illegitimate Prince that was born secretly, hence why he can wield the time powers of the Simurgh that only the royal bloodline can. The 'prince' you're trying to rescue is a false one, and the other true Prince in the game is actually the villain. So it's really the prince-iest PoP of them all, but good to know you didn't even play it.

Ubi Plus is like a tenner a month for day one access to ultimate editions of games so usually go that route then buy on steam as they usually launch at a big discount.

I 100% the game on Xbox its incredible definitely worth it if your into metroidvania’s are 2D platformers. The art style and presentation looks great. I know they have some DLC coming for it I’ll definitely double dip on this one.

Gets better as you get more unlocks.
I can believe you on that... because that's my problem with these metroidvania type of games.

Ori (the first one) for example, I found it a bit too basic for the most part of the game, but when it started becoming really good, really fun, with lot of mechanics... it was over. I find this concept really strange, to only have the full gameplay available only for the last hour of the game or so. It's quite frustrating and felt like a waste to me.

I don't know if this is the case here, but yeah, I'm always cautious with these games because of this.
Star Wars Fallen Order had a similar issue too, although it's not really metroidvania but you get upgrades in the same way, and you only unlock your full potential like 30 minutes before the end of the game, you can't even enjoy the full gameplay. Frustrating.

Ninja Gaiden the goat. All the meaty gameplay from the jump, but new weapons to mess with or use in new play through.

Easily one of the worst games Ive played this year

Yet another reminder that I should just stick with Super Metroid, SOTN, Chasm, Bloodstained and Strider
I feel like this flies in the face of the vast majority of the critical praise the game has gotten. It was really that bad, or you just didn't like the art style or something? Either way this is an odd/ outlier take for sure.

Hell yes it's an outlier of an opinion. The industry has been over saturated with pathfinder games for years and to me this was just another one to add to the heap. Disliked the art style, character design, music, everything. I'd come up with specific examples but it's been months since Ive played it and fortunately have buried the memories away deep since.

They still got my money though so fuck me I guess.

It’s currently $24 dollars on PSN. Worth it? I might get Black Myth Wukong in a few weeks if it reviews well and for sure Astrobot a few weeks after that.

Since I got games coming up, I should probably just wait and pick this up during a dry spell. Ubisoft games tend to drastically drop in price too.

Worth double that.
