I really don't understand how making something multiplatform can make it bad. Prototype devs seemed to do fine with less experience. (and likely less funding)
It makes sense to be exclusive cause they're owned by Sony. But if you're not, it doesn't.

Instead of just funneling everything into one version of the game and optimizing that version of the game, you have to worry about these other versions also. That's one of the major reasons why you typically see exclusive titles come out to be much more polished than multiplatform titles. Many developers praise being able to work on a single platform compared to having to work on a multiplatform title.
And Sucker Punch is a third party developer. They just choose to work with Sony.

I can't believe that people are still so invested in battles between these two games. It's like a GT vs. Forza level of investment even though one of the games is even multiplatform here.

Both games bored me to tears. Infamous a lot quicker than Prototype.

inFamous was amazing. The story was exactly what I would have wanted (granted, not everyone would like the comic book style understandably), the gameplay was sweet, and was just constant fun.
Prototype looked visually lousy, and felt more repetitive than inFamous (or at the very least, felt more bland as you played it more and more).
Attach rates really do say something. Even if Prototype was X360 exclusive, it still would have sold more than inFamous did on the PS3. Sure, if you calculate the percentage of console owners that brought whatever game, inFamous would top Prototype, but most people won't see it that way.

If Prototype fails to hit 1 million across two consoles in the US, is it going to be considered a failure?
Perhaps if either it or InFamous came packaged with a beta for MW2, we'd see Crackdown-esque sales figures. I seriously doubt Crackdown 2 - which no doubt promises to be excellent - will reach the same level of sales as the original.
Unless it's bundled with Halo 4.

i like prototype but holy shit infamous is way better.
I'm tired of this mentality. Crackdown 2 will sell great because people played Crackdown beyond just waiting to get into the Halo 3 Beta. Most of those people will see how fun of a game Crackdown was and will want to get the sequel. Don't act as if the entire game's success was dependant on it having a beta bundled.bonesmccoy said:

Prototype is fun in the way those first Spider Man movie games were a lot of fun because you could swing all over a big city and climb to really high locations. The only problem is that it gets boring pretty quickly. The gore factor isn't even that enjoyable because the graphics are so low-tech that slaughtering bystanders just looks comical. The story looks like it could have been interesting and I liked that whole Web of Intrigue thing, but the way it is presented in the actual story missions is just bad. There doesn't seem to be any real coherent flow of events between the story missions.
It is definitely good for some mindless fun, but to call it a superior game to inFamous or any other good overworld game in recent years is just plain wrong in my opinion.

Those are great numbers for inFamous. Especially when taking the pre release lack of hype (and proper marketing...) into account. The two month development could point towards long legs a la Uncharted. Here's hoping for a sequel. And fuck the haters, the story was great! Does it always have to be the same generic crap?

Infamous has technical problems, whereas Prototype is simple looking. Neither of them is exactly a tour de force in the graphics department. Prototype has a lot of shit going on the screen at any given moment, and it that regard its impressive the engine still holds up.
I did play Prototype on PC which is a little unfair but I have seen the 360 version in action and its fine. The graphics aren't the pulling point of the game.
