Well, it looks like its a port of the Model 2 version--thankgod. I wonder who is porting it? 3d ages, Sega-Am2, Scarab maybe? Anyhow, I really hope sega releases this and VF2 as a double pack in the USA for 20 bucks.

admittedly, its been a long time, but that definitely looks like the saturn game to me. the backgrounds dont look really 3d like the arcade, but the mock 3d flat ones the saturn had...

I'm not fan of the game, but the original arcade version looked much sharper.

I'd look if every image on Magic Box weren't coming up broken for me. Oddly enough, Tekken Zaibatsu is the same way.

Since AM2 built a Model 2 emulator for the Virtua Fighter 2 port, I'd be very surprised if they wouldn't reuse it for this port. Hopefully they've brushed it up a bit as well..

Same with me.

Fighters Megamix was never that great a game. Single player was ridiculously easy even on the hardest settings.

Can't they just release Fighters Megamix and put us all out of out misery?

I never liked that game as much as Vipers or VF2, though it was a nice collector's piece for a Sega fan.

Anyway, I'm not sure where those pics came from, but it sure as hell wasn't the Saturn...it never had the cool looking plane taking off. Megamix had the plane, but it didn't show much of it (it was already in the air before the screen faded in). So that's either Model 2 or PS2.

Anyway, it would be nice if VF2, Vipers and Last Bronx were included in a collection for US release.

yes those Pictures are better then the Saturn Version of Fighting Vipers. I really hope Sega combines this and Virtua Fighters 2 for a US release. As for Dragon Force , maybe Victor Ireland would release that for PS2. i wouldbuy that game again.

With any luck this will visually be closer to the arcade than VF2 turned out to be.

I suppose I can understand people being cynical regarding Sega releasing these old games, but I'm happy to pay for them. Another small way for me to thank Sega for the hours of enjoyment they have provided me over the years.

But, wasn't VF2 just a SATURN port? I don't remember anyone saying it was Model 2 perfect.

You guys aren't using Norton Internet Security are you? Because if you are, that's what's keeping you from seeing the pix. Been there, seen that.

i'd almost get this game for a hi-res Honey. Almost. i hope Last Bronx is somewhere on the list, along with Sega Touring Car Championship and Moto Raid.

Where in the bloody hell is the Nights port now?
NiGHTS would have to be remade. Emulating the Saturn, especially for a game as ugly technically as NiGHTS wouldn't be worth it.

no, PS2 VF2 was not a port of Saturn VF2. it was a bad port or conversion of the Model 2 VF2.

Is there a good emulation for the Saturn? I cannot think of one. I think it would be very hard Emulating the Saturn on the PS2. That why Nights would have to be remade on the PS2. I don't think the DOA on the X box is an emulation. I think it was made to look like the Saturn DOA. correct me if I am wrong.

Yes it would -_-
i'm not saying NiGHTS shouldn't be released for the PS2. i'm saying the Saturn version shouldn't be released without enhancements of some sort. Unless you've been in a cave for the past decade playing your Saturn, the lack of anti-aliasing and low resolution would practically make you go blind.

I never cared for this game much.. at least in Megamix you could fight as the Hornet and the AM2 tree.

It's wierd...I'm using Norton so the pics didn't work in Opera, but they did load in Mozilla.

As for Nights, making it for PS2 would be a waste of time. If they're gonna resurrect it for anything, it should be the DS and/or PSP. Nights would actually be an interesting game on the DS...use the touchscreen to throw him through a bunch of rings and perform a bunch of stunts might be even quicker and more enjoyable then the d-pad.

Anyway, the reason why I loved Vipers was because it's one of the most violent feeling fighters I've ever played. The weapons combined with the walls means you're beating your opponent to death, a feeling enhanced when you gradually knock their armour off. Megamix adding the VF stages that were wide open simply took away from that intense, violent feel, and the characters and gameplay style simply didn't mesh. And some of those characters were dumb as fuck anyway...I mean really, fighting as a piece of meat? :lol But like I said, it was a decent collector's piece for a Sega fan.

I really want Last Bronx more then FV or VF2 though, cause that game seemed to have the violent feel of Vipers, without boasting a cast of characters that are nearly as fruity (though Honey rules of course...ahem).

I'm glad that they added a 60 fps mode to Fighting Vipers. That 57.2 (or whatever) framerate that Model 2 games run at just doesn't work properly on NTSC TVs and caused VF2 to look rather awful in motion. FV offers that framerate mode as well, though, but I still don't understand why anyone would want to use it.
