PS3 Home Official Thread

Not yet. There's a home update coming on June 18th, along with the inFamous demo outfit.

EDIT:

Finally got the Alcove (the infamous Sword Cabinet) from the Ward Of Despair.
Took forever to play a game that someone didnt die in before I beat it!

And I also beat Xi, pretty let down. I at least got all the awards for it.

Looks like the City Apt will be coming next week for EU (and maybe US?).

Gonna miss XI.

Well it's not totally over considering there's still something happening in the Alumni space, and the ending basically says 'wait for the sequel!'.

Speaking of the ending:
I enjoyed it!
So it was all basically what OCelot referred to as the S3 plan in MGS2 :lol. They couldn't really have it truely be 'real world' in a meaningful way, so as far as 'it was all a game' endings go, HOME had a fairly good one, especially with the promise of 'The real purpose of the XI plan is just beginning'. having Jess be like a digital Morpheus for some secret plan that she's organizing an army for is pretty cool.

Overall
9/10

According to the EU login text, there's supposed to be some Transformers promotion going on, but I can't login as the game locks the console on "precaching essential items". Any tips?

Very Big Home Update coming tomorrow

PlayStation Blog said:
To say we have a pretty massive update coming for all of you this Thursday, June 18th would be the understatement of the week. To start, we’ll be unleashing the long-awaited SOCOM Tactical Operations Center space. This space is the first installment of a two-part SOCOM Home hub (the second highly interactive space – OPFOR – will follow the TOC shortly) that is the ideal 3D locale for the huge SOCOM community to meet up and socialize. At this new SOCOM strategy post, you will be able to plot the next course of action with your friends by gathering around the Telestrator tool and coordinating your next assault. Chock full of maps and modes from SOCOM: Confrontation, the Telestrator is a powerful tool that the Home community can use to collaborate, strategize, and enhance their gameplay experience. On top of this, the TOC boasts a regional leaderboard that pulls data from the SOCOM site and updates Career stats (such as all-time ranking, kills, deaths, and kills/deaths ratio) in real-time. And in an imminent refresh of the TOC you’ll also be able to purchase a slew of related virtual items to decorate your avatar with. So if you like to sport the Military chic look you’ll have to make a point to stop on by and load up on bandoliers, balaclavas, and other assorted tactical outerwear.

Also coming to the world of PlayStation Home this week is our first foray into movie and game-themed personal spaces. All of you virtual Egons will be overjoyed to find a Ghostbusters Firehouse personal space available for purchase. This 3-floor space comes jam-packed with tons of furniture and assorted decorations at no additional charge (including your very own Ecto-1). We hear that the basement’s ghost containment unit might have accidentally leaked a poltergeist or two, so you’ll have to keep an eye open for supernatural activity. Lucky for you, the Ghostbusters Firehouse comes with full Loot Stage Set functionality (including move props and portable blue screens) so you can stage your own Ghostbusters machinima. And as a token of our infatuation with the Ghostbusters franchise, we’re giving away free t-shirts that commemorate the 25th anniversary of Slimer hitting the silver screen. So be sure to log in and load up on all the goodies while the gettin’ is there to be gotten.

Electronic Arts is also freshening up their hugely-popular EA SPORTS Complex with additional Racing tracks, a leaderboards, Racing Boost Shop, and Poker updates (including bracelets for the ladies). The as-of-yet-unopened Golf Pro Shop space will temporarily disappear but will reappear and launch within a short time, so have no worries. All in all, this is a pretty significant update to the Complex, so if you haven’t been over for a while, this Thursday would be a dang fine time to drop on by.

We’re also bringing you some more game-related virtual items (did somebody say Street Fighter IV?!?!), including the free inFAMOUS Cole Costume for all of you that downloaded the demo and played it through to completion. Keep your eye on the official PlayStation Twitter page for more info regarding the awesome updates we have in “store” for you (terrible pun, I know).

To top this all off we have two events running this weekend in addition to the regularly-scheduled Resistance: SRPA Siege and Saturday Night Street Fightin’ game launching events (check the Clubs and Events subforums on the official PlayStation Home messageboard for more details). The first event starts Friday morning and ends Friday night and has something to do with you and your friends going on a scavenger hunt for parts of a secret code scattered throughout Home and the first 100 winners receiving a free download of Bomberman Ultra from the PlayStation Network. The other is scheduled for Saturday night and also involves free stuff, but you’ll have to keep your eyes on the video screens throughout Home between now and then for more details, because my memory is getting a little furry in my old age…

Oh, and by the way, the Killzone 2 Visari’s Throne and the Namco Bandai Museum are indeed coming to SCEA’s version of PlayStation Home. But not this week. You’ll have to keep an eye on the official Blog, forums, and Twitter accounts to stay up to date as to the progress of these spaces. But don’t despair; you can always spend the time between now and then launching into games of Crash Commando with your friends in Home. Don’t believe me? Give it a try…

Sounds Epic.

i hope Infamous demo's save file is not locked :lol

they should make personal spaces worth going before releasing so many of them

I havea friend who can't help but buy every new space that comes out. But they really need to at least start allowing you to stream music for a small fee or something other than put up pictures.

Why not at least allow the club space TVs to play (Sony) video content from the Playstation store.

Worst case scenario they should sell you a walkman for a buck and that would allow you to stream music from your HDD.

When is Xi unavailable to go through? I'd like to beat it/see the ending before its gone D:

Prolly in a few weeks. If I were you, I'd try and do everything ASAP!

Also if you didnt get the Cole costume in NA Home, just enter the inFamous demo then quit. Next time you visit Home, you should have it. And the mashmellow head from Ghostbusters is from the new GB apartment. It comes with it plus a bunch of furniture.

Logged in and picked up my Cole costume today. I'm glad it's in bits and pieces and not like a full body thing since I can mix and match it with other bits of my wardrobe. Which is awesome cuz now I don't have to buy any fingerless gloves anymore :D !!

Is it wrong that I'm a grown man that likes to play dress up with computer characters?

Well since its been bumped, today out of nowhere, there was a contest to win Socom. The most retarted thing about it was that it was only posted on the psforums. So only those who got nothing to do but be in Home got lucky. I was so Fn pissed, its not funny. Why was this not posted on the blog or something? So a bunch of noobs got it, great. I hope the Socom Elitest teach 'em a thing or 2.

Tomorrow, same thing only for Bombeman Ultra and saturday too but we dont know which game yet.

I would figure the most hardcore, loyal fans would be the posters on the official PlayStation boards...

Plus they probably didn't want to get swamped.

So I stopped caring about Home since they gimped some of the promised features from way back. I have to ask: Is there a way to put a TV in my apartment and watch videos from my HDD? How about picture frames for my pics? If no to both, I still don't care...

No video streaming but picture frames ARE in as $3 add-ons. Although if THATS all you're looking for out of Home then you're REALLY missing the point...

It's actually a feature I care about that was one of the first things they promised so I can understand the want for it. I mean if we're going to be decorating our homespace so that people can hang out in it, I do want the media streaming capabilities to share with my friends. Otherwise what's the point of the homespace?

One of the clubs I'm in has a pacman and galaga machine! I didn't know those were out. I like the socom area but without game launching I don't think we will meet there before a match. I did love the full maps they has up.

So, I don't assume that Ghostbusters firehouse will be available in Europe anytime soon?

Surely not! You don't want to give cool stuff to that second rate citizens in europe where they pay 130-150% of the prices they pay in US or japan! No! All those stupid little monkeys deserve is another rug, maybe in eight weeks or so!

I got the Galaga machine and a bunch of other stuff from the Namco demo on the HK store, but the machine doesn't work.
