I hope aswell as this they are revisiting the UI - i still struggle with it as its messy and cluttered...needs to be cleaner and folders would be great - or at least the ability to reorganize like the vita screen.

XBox is updating their UI so I'd expect PS to do the same as its a good time.

Since I am all digital at this point, I really need Sony to support external hard drives. Its not even a maybe, but an absolute. Otherwise I may switch to purchasing moreso on Xbox One when I run out of space (2TB).

Nope, didn't get an e-mail and I signed up within minutes of the beta announcement.

Definitely worthy of the 3.00 update now, but as much as I appreciate all the new features, I honestly just want more customization over my UI man. Folders and background wallpapers, and maybe a nice slide-show like PS3 have for pictures.

Then it would be perfect.

Guess I'll have to wait, still a very nice update.

What is the online storage used for? I've yet to really dig into this topic.

So far we got 1GB for Vita, 1GB for PS3 and 1GB for PS4, which is a limit that many can easily hit since some savegames are very large.

mainly for game saves really. not all gamesave sizes are the same. some are like 500MB for some odd reason. others are tiny.

That's correct, when I beta tested 2.5 I think it was there was a notification to download the beta and it installs a profile thing to your account letting the servers have you grab the update. Been awhile.....was when they added the discover feature

MS updates their consoles UI every other year.
Sony added folders/groups to PS3s XMB at some point in it's 7+ year lifespan.

And MS needs to update their UI, because the previous UI was based on the notion we'd all be using Kinect...

UI literally consists of 2 horizontal lines, it's the cleanest UI you could get.
