Here's something I hadn't been thinking of when I first plugged in the console, but now that I'm checking my network connection on my ps4 I'm considering:

Anybody else check their PS4's NAT? Mine seems to be type 2. Does anyone know what ports to open for PSN?

Also for some weird reason my ps4 is saying my connection is now 1.4 Mpbs down 787 Kbps(yes you read that right, Kilo) up When my connection is supposed to be 27 down 7 up. Did a speed test on a computer right next to it and got that result... Hmmm....

Stupid question: is there any use for the touchbad yet? I've only played Resogun, FIFA, and NFS (tutorial) so far but haven't found a use for it thus far.
I played some warframe and abilities are activated by swiping up down left or right. It works fine but didn't feel that easy to use. I needed to kind of take my hand off the controls to swipe it.

Is anyone else having issues with internet connection speed and losing Wi-Fi signal? I have a feeling it's on my end but I don't know if PSN is still wonky...

Good at being the bigger man
Sure.

The controller:
-Sticks are shorter, which means less strain on the thumbs to stay on the top, also much better deadzones and precision.
How can shorter sticks be more precise than taller sticks? The math says: Longer stick = more precision.

I'm happy to believe the sticks are more precise than the PS3's one though.

"playing" dumb? unpossible
Does anyone know where I can view photos I take with the share button on the console? It doesn't seem like there's a "photo" tab like on the PS3.

I still can't get into Killzone's multiplayer. I don't know what it is. I really like the SP. Anyways, I'm been really enjoying Warframe. I was shocked at how much fun this is, especially with friends. Graphics look good too in 1080p (obviously not Killzone good, but it looks pretty enough).

Going to try Blacklight Retribution today. Maybe that can replace my itch for Multiplayer. I'm actually enjoying Call of Duty Ghosts on PS4, but I really can't stand twitch shooters. And so those brief moments of fun, are always annoyed by the style of gameplay.

I have a playstation 3D display, should I leave the RGB and Ypb/CB Ranges in auto or should I change it to which setting? Thanks!

Are their any games that use second screen functionality (not remote play) other than Knack and Playroom? Any word on when the iPad Playstation app is coming?

Yup PSN still acting up. I expect this to go on for about another week. Playing games online is working fine. I was playing KZ, Resogun, and Warframe all this weekend with no issues. The problem seems to be the "What's New" section and the area where you learn more information about the games (pressing down anywhere), sometimes I see the info there and sometimes it just stays blank. "What's New" has always been blank for me.

Knack has second screen? Please explain,

Also, I couldn't figure out how to get second screen functions to work in Playroom.

Just got a chance to hold the controller, I'm kind of disappointed after hearing all the praise. Why are controllers still made for 8 year olds? I've got adult man hands and this controller feels like some kind of play thing. Sticks are too small, triggers are too small, everything about it is too small.

What's new worked for me the first time i used my ps4 and hasn't since then. PSN store has been down for me once but other than that it has worked everytime. My biggest issue currently is certain games just not working online...BF4/2k14...and Ghosts fucking shit framerate.

I swear I average the last post of a page more than anyone on GAF.

I only got in about 2 hours with the machine on Friday night. What happened or where is the area where you see all the shit going down with your friends? Not talking friends list but "Slappyjoe uploaded a video", "HairyMary is watching The Notebook", "Six696969nine earned a trophy in Knack".

Maybe Sony will sell a XL edition for gamers like you some day.

DriveClub looks absolutely incredible. Really looking forward to playing the PS+ version and then upgrading it if I like the 'base' edition.

Still 12 days to launch here, trying to stop myself buying more games although I think FIFA may be added to the launch buy list before the end of the day :(

Question: just about every time I hear a developer mention second screen possibilities for games in the future, they mention phone & tablet, but never Vita. I see that there's the option for second screen functionality when I boot up remote play.

Not exactly sure how these things work, but I'm assuming second screen stuff has to be separately programmed for, like 'we're going to have a second screen app that supports Android and iOS'. Is the Vita automatically supported as part of the PS4 ecosystem? Or could there be games that potentially only support second screen on mobile and tablet if the developer can't be bothered?

For anyone that is having troubles with the PS4 not using the full speed of their internet, I followed the port forwarding guide over at http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm (Select your router brand name, then model, then select PlayStation 4) and my download/upload speed jump up considerably for me.

This is my speed when doing a test from my PC:

Download Speed: 3779 kbps (472.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 6133 kbps (766.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 20 ms
11/17/2013 1:17:08 PM

Before I followed that guide I got 2.4 down and like 890kbps up.

After I did the port forwarding I'm getting anywhere between 2.2 mbps - 3.8 mbps down to 2mbps - 4mbps up now.

My latest speed test result I got on my PS4 is 3.8mbps down and 3.1mbps up.

Well been playing all weekend. Liking it so far but I believe the UI can use a bit of organization. Games should be on their own section and entertainment apps the next.

If I were to keep the same theme - I would have the top navigation the same, the second row be JUST games (with folders, A-Z, etc) and a third row for just entertainment apps. Right now even with just a few games installed I can easily see it getting extremely cluttered.

My second beef is better logical organization of system settings, save files, recorded media/screenshots, etc. You can manage it all, but the menu navigation isn't exactly intuitive.

Other than that - it runs great. Games look/run great. No issues other than PSN the first 48 which is to be expected.

Obviously looking forward to using my Pulse headset again but hopefully that will come soon. Right now I use my super-duper old USB mono headset and it works flawlessly. Loving party chat.

DS4 is great with the exception of the analogs. I would have rather had the same convex style that was in previous DS controllers. The combo of convex with rim isn't extremely comfortable to hold at full tilt. Triggers are fine, shoulder buttons fine, d-pad is much improved, ergonomics are just as comfy as my 360 controller, face buttons real nice, trackpad feels great to slide/push, share/options are OK - I need to get used to the placement. I find my muscle memory reaching for the old START button placement and hitting the trackpad regularly. it's not a bad thing - it's just muscle memory.

B- is my grade so far. Simply because I'm OCD and want my games in their own row A-Z, etc. Minor inconveniences of the UI, nothing more. Great purchase, IMO.

I should also say: RESOGUN

Holy balls.

How do I access a download list of my items like I easily can on PS3 or Vita? I input the pre-order code for Killzone, confirmed it, and backed out instead of downloading it, and now I can't find it anywhere.
