Huh, could you just rent one of the upgrade games, put it in, buy the $10 upgrade, and return the rental? Or does it require the game disc inserted every time?
Got back yesterday from a week in India. PS4 waiting for me. Went to dinner, got home and set it up.. BLoD.

Well, technically, you can, you have to enter some weird crap somewhere in your profile, theres some youtube tutorials about it.
I was hoping for something more 'official'

I've been playing my PS4 on a 480p input this week since my HDMI to DVI 1080i solution didn't work. Oh well, I just bought a plasma coming later this week. Really ready to experience PS4 how it was meant to be experienced.

Did you do some troubleshooting?
Yup did all the major ones:tried different HDMI, went to different tv with another hdmi.
Tried taking out and replanting hard drive. Just continual blinking. Got a support ticket in with Sony, so I should be able to play it sometime in December.
Not only does it require the disc in at all time but you also need to redeem a voucher code that came with the PS3 version for the "right" to buy the 10$ upgrade.

I've spent the weekend playing the hell out of my PS4, haven't really checked into much online. Was there a lot of issues with the hardware like everyone was worried about? A scan of Gaf didn't really show a lot but on a google search I see a number of blue light of death complaints with DOA systems and issues with Amazon shipping?
So are we looking at major problems or standard fare for a new console launch?
I must add that this system is fucking amazing! The first thing I noticed was just how fast and seamless using it is. I always thought the PS3 had a sluggish and fairly unintuitive UI for the most part but the PS4 is the opposite of that.

Does that mean you could borrow your friends PS3 copy of Battlefield 4 and upgrade for $10?
It looks like you can only play game audio on headphones, not the other way around.
Ideally I'd like to use my headset as a clip-on mic and hear everything through my speakers.
Go to sound settings, just put chat through headset,not all audio. You can do it I know for a fact.
Has anyone had any success with Vita remote play? I ask because every time I try to connect, even when right next to my PS4, then main UI works fine, but when I try to, say, start a game, it starts to lose connection and eventually gives up, and it won't reconnect from there.
I believe he wants chat audio over the speakers, while using the headset mic for talking.

I have I only tried with my digital download of ghosts though. Played for about 5 mins. I was right in front of my tv and router though.

Having a problem turning my PS4 on...
Pulsing light on the console disappeared after I removed the AC source.
Not really sure how to push that dinky power button, but nothings happening, same hwen i push the eject disc button (there's no disc in it).
When I push the PS button with the controller, it pulsates white on and off.
When the controller is being charged it only turns that amber charging color for a second or two, then disappears.
What's going on?

Anyone having problems with their facebook profile picture?
I linked my account and see the picture in the "Profile Picture" page, and have selected the checkmark next to "Use my Facebook profile picture".
Though my picture remains as the stock image I chose upon initial setup. If I view my profile while looking through a Friend's "Friends" page list, I can find myself but the profile image is actually blank there.

Unplug everything for about 10 minutes then back in and turn it on. The power buttons are capacitive.

Will the PS+ voucher only work if you're a new member and haven't used the service before?
It seems much more smooth to me compared to the PS3 store.

Definitely smoother, but the lag in going up and down the menu and into each category is very noticeable.

I think for right now its due to the network getting hammered so hard. Has Sony said anything about that yet? Are they gonna open some more servers?
So resogun has started taking a really long time to load, definitely longer than before. Has anyone else noticed something like this?
edit: It had a solid minute of just a black screen (time after ship icon in bottom right went away and sony comuter entertainement appeared on screen)
double edit: if i start resogun right after i turn on the ps4 the load time is cut down to ~20 seconds, any ideas?

I'd settle for a cord longer than 3 feet.
I still can't play flower, every time I try to launch the console kicks me out during the initial Sony computer entertainment splash screen and it logs me out of the console. If I play it as a guest account or any other created account (that isn't my psn account) it plays just fine.
Really annoying, especially since I bought it on my psn account so it isn't a license thing. Anyone had any similar problems? Works fine on my vita and ps3 (I bought it on the ps4 for the cross buy).

What is the best surface to place the PS4 on? I kept my Wii and 360 on the floor on top of a rug and they've been fine, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't a good idea!

The intake and exhaust vents are both in the back of the unit. As long as you don't set it on a carpet with really long fibers which would block the back it should be fine. Ideally, though, it would be on a cool, flat surface. with no obstructions or heat sources behind it.
Probably fine, though I haven't seriously tested yet. Just popped in GoT, got some weird issue about not recognizing the disc, popped it out and examined, popped back in, and it worked fine.

I actually have a small cardboard box underneath propping up the center of the console. It's not the best solution but I want to make sure there is good airflow on all sides.
