The problem with that with DCUO is that you get the tutorial and that it's. On my connection it reckons about 14 hours to download it. I'd much rather not have to have the game running all that time :) The initial background download was about 8gig too. So I'm not sure how big the full game is.

I heard you can't play any of the digital games without an online connection, is that true? Believe someone mentioned your digital games disappear without a constant connection.

Yes. If it was installing during the game while you were playing make sure to restart AC4 for changes to take effect.

Wouldnt this mean the PS4 had DRM? I cant honestly believe this especially considering I was playing Resogun while PSN was down yesterday.

Yes, that's exactly how it sounds. A mid-high-pitched, very quiet but still noticeable humming. This kind of sucks, as the PS4 is on a rack right next to my desk, so I'll be hearing it all the time.

Anecdotal, but I downloaded (but did not play) Marvel Lego demo on Thursday, and during the PSN craziness yesterday I could not open the demo (was throwing an error). Seems to me there might be a one-time check when you run a game for the 1st time. I've had no problems playing any of my other downloaded games offline.

Oh man the background download of updates is so quick and I didn't even realise it had updated all my titles until I'd gone into Notifications and it said. That's mad and sooo convenient. The whole console is a pleasure and joy to use. It's speediness to go in and out of apps is beautiful. Love it to pieces. After being used to the PS3 for 7 years, the PS4 just comes across as a revelation in tech.

Just bought NBA 2k14 from Amazon US and went to the PS website to redeem the code, which worked fine. However I've just signed into the PS4 and no sign of the game under my account. Any ideas?

Is your PS4 activated? Also go to PS Store and look for game, you should see download option.

Yep, activated as a primary PS4. Store asks me to buy it again. Checking the account on the console, it shows my precious Wipeout purchase for my PS3 so it is linked. Just not pulling down my NBA details for some reason.

Even though the PS4 says its activated, it doesn't look like it's uploading the data to the server as the website still just shows a PS3 as my only console. Hmmm.

You can always go back to sony entertainment network site and go to purchase history and send the game to your PS4 from the site.

That is what i did with battlefield 4

Just had an epic Battlefield moment online.

Tried to share it via the button, the thumbnail is from the multiplayer session but when I preview or trim the clip it's from singleplayer which I played yesterday :/

I guess that moment didn't record? It also gave me an error when going back to the multiplayer, I guess the map ended.

Does the drive ever spin down when you're not using it? When I turn the PS4 on with a disc in the drive seems to stay on standby, where as with the disc ejected it obviously makes no noise.

Yeah that doesn't help right now. I did the same thing with the AC4 code and my Ps4 still hasn't download it yet. Something is still mess up with redeeming codes.

I bought it from Amazon and redeemed the code on the website so it doesn't show as a purchase. The PS4 is now showing as activated on the website and NBA showing in my media, the PS4 just won't see the game now. Tried logging out and in, still not seeing the game being available.

It hurts to see all of this. I was planning on getting the PS4 at launch, like I did with PS2, PSP and PS3. But unfortunately financially it wouldn't have been a good idea for me right now, so I'll have to postpone it for a while. On the other hand I'm still not bored with my PS3.

I don't have any retail games but I was under the impression that when you start playing them they first do a mandatory install of the stuff you need and stream the rest from the disc and during idle time they continue the installation from the disc to the hdd.

A couple of questions I hope you guys can help me with:

1. How can I force the PS4 to shutdown when it freezes? I tried holding down the power button, but it does nothing. Is my only option to pull the cord?
2. How does the "download on the go" work? NFS: Rivals needs to download a lot before playing past the tutorial it seems. When I start the game after playing the tutorial I'm greeted by a download progression bar. Does the game download in the background if I exit it and in standby? Or do the game have to be running?
3. My PS4 keeps loosing the WiFi connection. Is this a known issue? None of my other Sony or Apple devices does this.


Sorry if this is common knowledge or already answered.

I just played ACIV digitally without an internet connection. Works like a charm.

I don't understand. I put in CoD: Ghosts but when I start it up it just shows a black screen. I can't actually see anything but hear the sounds.

Why is this?

I'm worried.

Oh maybe because it's downloading an update file?

Don't want to scare you but when BF4 has downloaded a update file I've been able to play the game fine.

What's up with gameplay recording? It doesn't automatically record the last 15 minutes. Umm... wtf? I guess I'm just doing something wrong. And when you manually press the share button it only records for a few seconds (the icon shows up).

I started up Warframe last night and it looked like everything on the screen was melting. All the writing was smudged on the screen and I could hear the tutorial starting in the background. Thought it's just a glitch, quit out went back into game and it was still happening. I then started Resogun and that game started doing it too. Deleted Warframe and problem went away. wtf did Warframe do to my PS4.

Definitely seems to be a problem with it, the thumbnail is from my multiplayer session but the actual clip is from yesterdays singleplayer. Had an amazing moment to record aswell :(

Shit. All out of luck. Went through six stores (all of them) and they had all sold out yesterday. Some stores get their next free units in February. Damn you Sony!
