"Last night, I logged onto my PlayStation 4 and was met with a disconcerting message. Apparently, my PSN password was "no longer valid, and needed to be changed." Changing my password was simple enough, but thanks to the Great PlayStation Hack of 2011, it's hard not to feel concerned anytime Sony is arbitrarily demanding account resets. And as mentioned by The Verge, this isn't an isolated problem."

You will get way more play time out of AC4 over rivals. I think AC4 is a better game awesome.

This is more of a heads up for some people out there... People that are awaiting the Killzone Bundle (PS4, Extra Controller, Camera, KZ) should start seeing them trickle into the wild.

I've literally just picked mine up today from EB Games (Sydney, Australia).

We do this on Killzone: Shadow Fall all the time. When I did it, it automatically invited everybody in the party when I started a match. I'm not sure if it different for other games though.

Got one for $300 at my walmart today. There were only 4 in the store total. How did I get one for $300 you ask? I did it a secret way that not many people would subject themselves too
I work at Walmart and our store gave all employees that worked Thankgiving and Black Friday a voucher for 25% off a single purchase today and tomorrow only

I didn't really plan on getting one but I was shopping and saw somebody I knew buying one, and found out there were only 2 left. So i said fuck it's not gonna be $300 for awhile and bought one

Try Warframe on the PS4. It's a F2P third-person shooter. Solo or co-op. The game does a poor job of explaining things, but check out the wiki or the OT. The game is a little buggy and redundant, but very fun despite its shortcomings.

How can I get my controller to go the fuhh to sleep during a movie (Netflix, Amazon, etc)?

I set it to shut off after 10 minutes in Power Savings but it doesn't do jack.

I just called Sony to ask if they could replace my controller due to a slight L2 sticky feel when releasing the trigger. I just asked that question then said L2 and he already guessed the problem lol. Took like 3 mins to give him all the info to send the replacement box tomorrow. I'm really impressed by the customer service. This is my second time calling them and last time they refunded Rayman Origins because my little cousin bought it when I didn't have the password protection on.

Do you let it rest on a hard surface or on something soft like your bed or a pillow? I found that if it's not on a hard and flat surface, the L2 and R2 get slightly pressed (or something) and the controller doesn't shut off on its own.

But is there anything on the OS level that allows you to invite everybody? Like you press the PS button and a menu pops up with access to your friends list and/or party that allows you to get everybody in there and you can do that for any and every game? I don't want to have to hunt around in every game's menu hunting for the party invite option. And I don't really want to rely on developers to include that in all of their games either.

Sony have suggested (without saying ouright) that it isn't coming to PS4. They did say that GT7 may appear on the PS4 "sooner than you think" though.

There was a thread on it, my search-fu is failing me though.

I've just realised, the controller light is white on bootup (PS4's top lightstrip is blue), then it changes to blue when its booted (and the PS4 top light goes white).

That confirms to me that they have the console lights set the wrong way round, it should be blue while its on to match the controller, and only be white while booting.

Yeah most deffo bullshit, i had the same experience as you when the ps3 launched, metal gear killed my bluray drive and it went exactly the same way as yours. Whod have thought it a game worker talking shit to sell games own service which he more than likely gets something for up selling it at the till.

They might have been confused. Looking at threads about the XBone replacements for the disc drive, they require the deposit. Glad to hear Sony doesn't though.

Put it this way i find it easier to get into game with froends on ps4 than on xbox1 atm, the whole system on xb1 is strange atm, miss an invite and its gone forever you have to ask again. From what ive played on cod an invite comes and you press the ps button to accept, bf there is on party system kz you press the options button while in game to join a friend while in a party.

I have an issue causing my PS4 to log out of PSN but it will still download any games or updates in the background.
Any way to fix this?
I have my PS4 set to a static IP address and to log in automatically.

Did anyone else get forced to change their PSN password last night? Message came up on the PS4 UI before I could log on.

Interestingly, I changed it via the email link and then logged in again on the PS4 and it didn't ask for the new one. What is this witchcraft?

they will probably call it GT7... i think odds are high but not so soon. Anyway, PS4 currently has very limited support for wheels so GT on PS4 makes no sense right now.

This is so annoying. I've been careful in my setup not to include my first and last name to prevent them from displaying on my What's New. I did, however, started linking to Facebook but despite that, the What's New has always been using my username.

Today, however, after approving a friend's request, all of that has been changed into my real name. I don't want to see my real name! It's bad enough that I see it at the top of the screen. I don't need to see it splashed on every piece of what's new! What's the point of having the option of only showing my username if it only affects my friends? I don't want to have to see my real name either!

Is there a way of undoing this? Would de-linking Facebook does the trick? But it seems you can't even have a blank first and last name field in the actual name section. Damn it, Sony! Fix this shit!

Is the "no-sound-after-standby" a known bug or an indication of a broken system?
I had the problem yesterday and it was fine after a reboot, but i'm still scared :(

My main beef is pressing the share button and sharing video doesn't seem to share the last 15 minutes of gameplay but just a random 15 minutes

Also not being able to share to YouTube and having to have a Facebook account is bullshit

What's a good score on Resogun? The best I could do on Veteran so far is 2m, but there's guys on the leaderboards with scores in the 600m range. What am I doing wrong?

Yeah. It's funny how upset I was about not being able to turn the light off from a distraction point of view prior to the console's launch. Now that the console is in my hands the light isn't a big deal, but the battery life is horrendous. I would really like to be able to shut it off, or at least substantially dim it to save the battery.

Having an interesting issue that I don't know if it's my TV or my PS4, but when my system turns on after being in standby, and I turn the TV on, sometimes the black levels are absolutely CRUSHED. All the darks are as black as can be and the contrast seems way off. Turning either the TV or PS4 off and back on fixes it.

It only happens when the PS4 turns back on after being in standby, doesn't ever happen any other time, or when any other device is used with my TV. Not a huge issue or annoyance as I just power cycle the TV, but was wondering if anyone else had experienced this.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Already had it lock up once as well.

I was playing the fifa14 demo, pressed the ps button to return to the xmb. And then it didnt do anything anymore. Pressed the power button yet it didnt turn off. Pulled the AC cable and it went off, turned it on and it booted in safe mode.

Shit scared me shitless.

Take rgb color display setting off auto.
I would hope that the HDMI handshaking bugs are high of their list of fixes.

Tried streaming last night for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and quality of the stream. That's the beauty of it being hardwired in the box I guess.

One problem, my JLab 5M earbuds mic didn't work so the chat couldn't hear me. I was flummoxed at first but then I decided to try my Snowball mic on the off chance that it'd work. I plugged it in and lo and behold it worked flawlessly. Such a great experience. Now I need to get a set up by my entertainment center for my Snowball though...
