Amazon just sent me £10 of Call of Duty Ghosts for pre ordering PS4. If anyone wants quote this and I will PM. That works out to £38 at current price.

Are there any local co-op/split screen games on PS4 aside from Knack and Ghosts? I spent a good amount of time trying to scavenge for a multiplayer game for my friends and I to play tonight after we got our fill of NBA 2K14.

Got my system last Friday in Czech Republic. The machine is even more impressive in person, the light bar on the machine is pure sexy. The controller is top notch even better then I thought it was gonna feel, really like the triggers they are 10000 percent better then DS3.

I have been playing Killzone, Knack and NBA. The reviews where wrong on Knack, that game is a barrel of fun, love the combat system, seems like its the classic easy to learn hard to master. Killzone is a great shooter, been playing MP mostly, and it is a great blend of COD, with sci fi touches, I have seen really clever use of nano shields and turrets, going on. NBA is a beast visually videos just don't even do it justice. I can't wait to go home and play ever day after work.

What was it that you hated about Most Wanted? I'd say it has a similar set up but it has a different feel.

It's not entirely race focused. You can get by with just fighting with cops, challenging other players, and playing around in the world. The pursuits actually mean something because you rack up SP and the more heat you get the more you earn but you have to be careful because if you get busted then you lose it all. So it becomes a risk vs reward thing and it can get pretty tense when you have a lot and don't want to lose it. You can bank it while in a pursuit so it's not overly hard. I haven't played the cop career yet though.

You might want to wait it out if you're not sure. It's my go to game right now but I actually liked most wanted. The visuals are really nice too, if you don't mind 30fps

Thanks for the info. What I didn't like about Most Wanted was, basically, the structure of the game. I prefer event oriented racing games like Hot Pursuit. I put up with Burnout Paradise because I loved the gameplay. Some of my favorite racing games are the Burnout series and the early Need for Speed (also loved the new Hot Pursuit) games but the open world ones have been making me lose interest quite fast.

I know it's a good game and a lot of people like it. I just think it might not be for me based on my personal preferences. I just wanted to see if what I thought was true about the game. One of the main reasons I didn't like some of the open world games was because in order to restart an event you have to drive all the way back to the starting point and because maps were so huge you had to sometimes spend three to five minutes just to drive to a place to initiate a race. To me, that's just excessive and time consuming padding.

Hooked up the PS4 and played some Resogun. Game is awesome! My cat is annoyed.

Usually I hate the controller-speaker on the Wii/Wii-U but for some reason on the PS4 it actually adds some immersion....well at least Resogun does.

BTW anyone having this issue? When I go to account management, it sits at 'Please wait' for like 3 minutes before I get to edit my details.

I just took my ps4 out of standby to play Killzone and lo and behold it then starts to download a 6gb DCUO patch and a 613mb Battlefield 4 patch.

WHY IS THIS NOT DOWNLOADING IN STANDBY??

Seriously. What's the point in standby on this damned machine.

Edit: and yes, my settings are correct.

There is a lot of that. Since they designed it around multiplayer, you can't even really pause the game, even if you are playing offline. If you want to stop and change your car or make make some changes to it, you'll have to find a safe house. If you have done a few races and have a lot of points, you have to get to a safehouse to save your progress. Safehouses aren't usually too far away and after getting to a safehouse you can jump to any races you want, but no insta restart. There is a lot of going on inbetween driving places with the cops and challenging random racers driving around so dring around doesn't come off as padding really. The story can progress by just doing those things and not actually racing if you like just messing around. The whole game is pretty embedded in the open world though but at least this time world is interesting

I have the same problem with my unit and it worked two weeks ago !

I got home yesterday and my NFS patch was already downloaded. I don't think I even had it in stand by

They're supposed to upload whenever you log out of your profile.

PS3 Slim killed that tradition.

PS2 Slim didn't have it, either. That rear switch was one of Kutaragi's fine technologies that gave me the feeling I was using a device from the future. That was totally new to game consoles.

Those patches were probably just released this morning. That's why.

Do games not install automatically or is there a setting I need to change?

Downloaded Blacklight last night, did some other stuff and when I came back it had been downloaded but I needed to install it

...course it was only a minute or so until it let me play but I find it out not to just be done automatically

Some of the F2P games are little funny with downloads/installs. But regular games install themselves after download.

Was so pumped for the console at launch. It's been more than a week since I last played on it.. Horrible launch games imo.

Apparently Dynasty Warriors 8 (Asia release I believe) is interactive via streaming, took a screen:

The only PS4 title so far that is as far as I know, or are there others?

I've just been rationing AC4 to keep me going. Really weak launch for sure. But hey at least the Netflix app is really good... :(

Yeh would love a port of tlou for that feature alone

Yeah, I imagine that would work well in a horror game.

Just shared an image on FB, and was happy to notice it doesn't post those PSN Store links in addition anymore.

KZ:SF, Resogun and Flower have kept me busy so far, but I'm starting to itch for new games sooner than I thought. I wish there were demos available of all titles, especially the retail ones.

Finally, my PS4 has arrived!

So far, I'm impressed in every possible way. Killzone is my favorite for now, the sounds, the visuals, the atmosphere. Warframe requires some learning but definitely fun to play. I haven't tried Knack and Resogun yet, but I think I'll love them.

Thanks Sony. This is fantastic.

I did the whole fresh start thing with a PSN ID for the new console, but reverted back to my original one last week. I wish they'd just let us change our username.

Oh well, getting these trophies all over again and I managed to platinum Resogun the other day. I didn't realize I was so baller at that game.

My DS4 is slightly crooked. The left R2 trigger doesn't touch the ground, but it's just about 1mm away from it. But occasionally I use the D-pad with one finger while the controller is on the table (e.g. just taking a quick glance at the friend list while I'm actually doing something else), so then it's annoyingly knocking on the table.

By the way, for some reason the logo of Flower isn't visible in my library anymore. There's just a prohibition sign instead. However, I can play it. What's going on?

hmm well this is annoying, after sending my initial PS4 in to be replaced since it couldn't read discs and then it's replacement being DOA I got one that worked from Sony on Saturday

but I've found that any games I queue up to download from the web store are locked until I go into settings >>> PSN >>> restore licenses

and this isn't just with old games I purchased on my original PS4 but even new stuff like Flow that just released today, if I buy it on the web store and queue up the download I have to restore licenses in order to get it to work on my current PS4

Does anyone know what it says?

It's Traditional Chinese, roughly translated it's from top to bottom:

meat dumplings (health item)
old spirits (booze, another item)
healers boots (another item)
defensive attack/cover (a buff)
adds, giving or getting support adds. (not clear here, really hard to translate)

Dang man take off that protector by the dpad! It's the best feeling ever pulling those off.

quick question, my PS4 is not auto downloading game updates or firmware updates while in standby, I have all the setting selected and I have PS+, is this happening to anyone else? and is there a fix for this??

You know how, with the current UI, when you press the home button from a game to get back to the system UI, it just shows the icon for the game? Like this:

I was thinking it would be better/cool if, when you hit the home button, it shows the live feed for the game where the icon used to be, so you kind of know where you are in the game (like a pre-game lobby in a multiplayer game) without having to get back into it. The PS4 reserved a lot of RAM for the OS, so it shouldn't be an issue I would think. Here's a horrible mockup I made. Imagine that the game is still running in the little window:

i2dt5y4qUh0bD.png

What do you guys think?

You mean like Xbox One does...

That horizontal bar on my PS4 is getting bigger and bigger and more cumbersome to navigate. They need to place all games in a separate box like how they do with the library.

Is PSN acting up for anyone else? I can't go on the store/see friends/see my profile or trophies etc on any of my profiles.

Is PSN down? I turned my PS4 on and it signed in but nothing would load, not even the friends tab, then after a few minutes I was booted off and now it says there's a communication with the server error.

edit: Ok so it's not just me.

I finished Assassin's Creed earlier today and just cracked open Shadow Fall. I have to say, playing through that first level after the prologue, that game looks absolutely stunning.
I really don't think any single screenshot or piece of video you can stream on the internet does that game justice. It just looks so good. And it sounds punchy. The music, too, is great.

I really can't wait to see what the other first party studios can conjure with this hardware. And playing this really makes me excited for their new IP.
