They are impossible to find in stores so I'd say it's highly recommended to try to get one tonight during the black friday sales, otherwise you might not find one until after Christmas.
 
Just picked up my PS4 an hour ago from local post office and of course set it up already. My copy of Killzone is yet to arrive, so Resogun and Contrast shall take up all my gaming time today.
I won't be gaming this weekend as I've got a work trip. Will have much more time to game next week and hopefully by then Killzone has arrived too.

When someone signs in on their Vita they disappear from your friend list on the PS3, does the same thing happen when one of your friends Is using their PS4?
I thought they would have fixed it to show Vita users as online by now but they haven't, so I don't have much hope for this either.
 
Did you guys know that the PS4 can turn your TV on? I'm assuming its because I have HDMI Link enabled but from a completely off position (both my TV and PS4), when I turn on my PS4 it also boots up my Bravia and selects the correct input.

Thought that was pretty cool....

Wow, didn't know that. I wonder if it can do it with my Samsung aswell.

PS3s do that too, with the HDMI link setting turned on. And I have a Samsung TV.
 
Europeans, I'd advise you to not buy KZ if you're in it for the singleplayer. Multiplayer is great, but the reviews were spot on about the singleplayer. So disappointing. There are some great moments, but there's also some of the worst moments in any FPS I've played.

Just keep it in mind, enjoy your PS4's and buy AC4!

I'm in two minds about it, I love the Killzone series and liked 2 & 3 but I've got Shadow Fall and ACIV pre-ordered to pick up tomorrow but I'm only buying one of them. Still undecided.

I'm in the US and it has been this way since launch for me. They really need to fix this.

The only workaround (and it's not the same) is to double tap the share button to start recording if something cool is about to happen.

I will probably be playing it mostly for the multiplayer.

I recently played KZ2 and 3 for the first time last month and I loved them. SF is good but the singleplayer just isn't....fun? This is weird to say, but there is a lot of time where you aren't really doing anything fun, and it usually happens when you aren't shooting stuff, I'm sorry to say. There are like two whole chapters where I felt like I was playing Killzone: Myst. Except the puzzles/exploration isn't very interesting. And I'm not even like a "oh I need to be shooting stuff to have fun" guy either. It's strange, and disappointing because there are a few really good, open ended, shooting sequences. I enjoyed KZ Mercenary a lot more.

Multiplayer is pretty fun though, but there's a pretty small population.

AC4 on the other hand... i think I just put in my 60 or 70th hour on that bad boy. Great game.

And NFS Rivals is damn good too.
 
I feel really bad for my little cousin (he's 13). For some reason Amazon had trouble charging his card in time for a tomorrow delivery. He doesn't get back until 5 from school, so it was too late by then for him to retry the card manually for release day delivery. It will be here on Monday for him. :(

So I've decided not to open my PS4 until Monday, too. We were hyping up the PS4 since Feb and I just can't leave him out. He's a brother to me.

I don't know if it would help, but the patch today I think changed some bits in the single player. Mine doesn't arrive till tomorrow, and I'm shit at shooters and never played a Killzone, so it's going to be fun whatever lol.

Cheers for the insight, I think I will end up buying ACIV (even though I hated 3) but by the consensus on here the fourth game is much better. Might be able to pick up SF second hand around Christmas or if prices fall.

That is an excellent idea. SF is something you should play, but def not at full price.
 
Can't decide whether to swap over the PS4 HDD and the 1TB currently in my PS3 before I set them up, or just go with the 500GB for now since it'll probably be a while until I fill it, and then upgrade to a 1.5TB or something. Argh!

For those who've had their PS4 for a while, how are you managing with the stock HDD? Assume it's not too bad yet since it's launch and there aren't that many games out yet?
 
I might have a problem. I got my PS4 a couple of hours ago. So far I've played around in the UI, downloaded some stuff, played a level of Resogun, tried out Remote Play. Everything's been working swell up until I poped my Killzone disc into the PS4. After the installation, I started the game, but during the intro movie both the audio and video is skippy, like with a bad disc or something. There are no visible marks whatsoever on the disc when I remove it from the drive.

Has anyone else encountered anything like this already? Any theories?

Maybe uh...maybe just
a little peak wouldn't hurt, right? I could just take it out its box and plug it in and see if it works. Maybe try a game just to see if the GPU is functioning correctly. Then I'll try some online to make sure it works with my internet. Shouldn't take long, maybe a few hours...

I have a PS4 owning friend on PSN they do the same disappearing thing. They'll be at the bottom of the friend list, offline with no last signed in information displayed.

I swapped out the hdd, 1TB from PS3 with the 500GB PS4 one, shortly after launch as the games take up too much space. I only had about 150GB free after playing/downloading 7 games.
 
I cannot believe the downloads are as slow as they were on my PS3. Took 2 hours to download 1GB for ACB then the download was corrupted so now i am waiting even more. I don't know why it's so slow when the download test says I am getting 10mbs.

Don't think I'll be going digital only like I thought.

I had the same issue. I reset my sound back to linear pcm then back to bitstream DTS, quit and restarted the game and all good. Think maybe its because I was downloading a heap of stuff from the store/installing killzone/downloading killzone update at the same time.

You should try an other disc. You can also try it with a BR movie first (I assume you don't have access to any other retail ps4-game at the moment)
Also try to delete the game and reinstall it.

Thanks, I think I'll do the swap straight away then. Only have 4 games currently but still.

Did you have to format either drive before swapping them or can you just swap them with the "wrong" firmware on and update via USB to set them up?
