They refunded my order and I'm just buying US PSN credit now to get it, so I'll report back.
EDIT: Says it's going to be an hour and it went up 500mb when I was just staring at it, so looking fine. Wired connection and 120mbit Virgin here.

The top strip colours are wrong and I hope the next update fixes them.
It obviously should stay blue while on. Blue is the PlayStation color, and has been the LED on color since PS2. White is pointless.
Have it for standby, the orange is horrible. Though I'd prefer red for standby, like the PS2, 3 and very other device that has standby.
Sadly, I hear red LEDs on consoles cause panic nowadays.

That bit was fine, it's the second part where it downloads after it lets you start playing.
Got the same thing happening on my R2. Really annoying.

Now i have been gaming on a 55inch plasma for seven years now, at around 2-3m distance. That was never a problem because it really wouldn't hurt to NOT see these last gen games to close. But damn, today i sat in front of the tv like i did when i was 10 years old... Damn at that Resogun detail! The ship is make out of blocks...
With the 1080p resolution i think i'm going to do that a lot more often now.

The PSN downloads are rapid. The extra downloading in-game is cripplingly slow it seems.

The version of 1.51 on your USB, is it the one you need when you put a new hard drive in the system or the one that works with the stock hard drive?
EDIT: Never mind maybe there isn't two different versions for 1.51
yeah not sure.. digitally I have Killzone, Knack, Contrast and Resogun (and now Tiny Brains) but downloaded all of those at US launch without any issue.
Got Killzone out of those and the initial download was rapid. The background downloading while being able to play the single player was slow as anything. Fantastic that we can play while we wait though, so for single player linear games that download it all sequentially like Killzone, fantastic. Sports games where you can only do Quick Play... Not so much, but still better than nothing.
Are they real? I was there on Sunday buying a TV and they had empty Xbox one boxes and PS4 ones. I think the stock situation won't be nearly as bad as Wii
Probably a dumb question, you installed the OS on your drive right?
did you install the 900MB firmware file after putting in the drive? putting in a new drive you have to have the 900MB full firmware file on a USB stick and boot the system into safe mode to then install the firmware onto the new drive.
They really need to fix this glitch where looking at screens in preview mode crashes the system. Code seems to be CE-34878-0. Happened to me twice today with Killzone running in the background although it's done it to me with other games before too.

Yea I download the 800MB+ update file. Put it on a FAT32 USB in PS4/UPDATE/
Then I booted my PS4 in safe mode. Selected the Initialise (Update) option. When the PS4 restarts, I just have a blank screen and pulsing blue light?

Choose option 7, Initialize (rebuild database) or whatever it is. The option you chose is for hard drives with an OS already installed.
That's what I'm using.

Oh, ok. Your post said you chose Initialize (Update), which is option 6, iirc. I have no clue what the problem could be then. Maybe take the drive out and reformat it? Get a 2.5" USB enclosure and you can connect it to a PC.
Edit- according to this http://m.us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps4/new-install/index.htm#installationSteps , you should choose Initialize (Reinstall system software) when using a new drive. Made a mistake in my previous post.

as was said, you should be using option 7 (Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)).
does it give you indication that it completes? Does it verify your system file on your USB stick? You can select option 7 without a USB drive connected and then when it says you have to connect one connect it then.
also at this point I would try downloading the system firmware again. wondering if maybe the download you have was corrupted somehow.

Yea I just tried it again. Selected option 7.
Says insert a USB drive, I select ok. It waits awhile. Then I confirm I want to initialise, thus losing all data.
It starts. Then when it reaches 100%, the console restarts. But it just outputs a black screen and has a pulsing light.
The firmware must be fine, because when I follow the same steps using my 500GB drive, it works fine :S

Try the old drive and see if it allows you to boot all the way. If it works, you know there's a problem with your new drive and or firmware.

That's definitely due to the restrictions put in place by the devs/publisher due to copyright issues.

That's ridiculous. If it became cumbersome then there should be an option to disable it. I don't see why others with more modest friend numbers should be arbitrarily penalised.
Go to the game, press Options and pick remove disc or what its called. I'm doing it like this. And it works great.

Does anyone know how much in store credit European GAME gives you for a xbone day one edition? Would I get enough to buy a PS4?
Man - AC4 keeps trying to log in to the Uplay servers but I don't remember ever linking my PSN account to a Uplay account... what details is it trying to log in with? Is there any way of looking to see what services are connecting to my PSN ID so I can check which (if any) uplay account it's trying to use?
I honestly didn't know there was an actual eject button on the console. I've been doing it through the OS this whole time.
I'm not sure if there's a good way to figure it out. I had a hard time connecting the ipad app to it, because I apparently have more than one uplay account. I was able to get to the account I actually used by going to uplay.com and logging in with PSN. I went to http://uplay.ubi.com/en-US , clicked Connection, and then clicked the Playstation Network button at the bottom. Once i did that I went to the profile area and found the email associated with it, (which was not my psn email), reset the password, and finally got logged in on the ipad app.
It was a giant pain in the ass.
No. CEX are giving £485 cash though. Selling privately would be better, can maybe even make a profit, but CEX are probably your best bet for now if you don't want to do that as they're gouging the prices on their resale.
