PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

It wasn't.
You know this how?

I didn't see anything in that demo that Uncharted 4 couldn't do, and that's the standard ps4.
But why wouldn't they show the game off using better effects, etc.? This isn't a new concept. Companies always demo games on better hardware, especially for the reveal trailers. Do I really need to point out all the times this has been done in recent years?

It was birthday yesterday, so I've got the cash to buy this but I'm still on the fence.

I don't have a 4K, HDR-capable TV and while I know the Pro will offer benefits for those using 1080p sets, it's really up to the developer what they do.

How bigger benefits do you reckon us 1080p peasants will get?

Because they are that good to make you think that the graphics are on pro... and then near release they'll show the pro version and it will look even better.

You can point all the times that has been done if you want, but Sony has not been doing it for a long time.

There's more than that I'm looking forward to. 1080p remote play? Yes please.

I asked today when i preordered mine and was told no. Not sure if its Corporate wide or just my location

I was told by a pretty reliable person at my local shop and unless your place had a decent number 30+ preorders there won't be. Mine had a total of 4. They might get some more in the next few days but I don't see it happening. There just isn't any interest in my area. I was the very first preorder and I didn't do mine until the 14th of September. So I wouldn't count on one unless you live in a huge area with only a couple of gamestops so the preorders could pool in one location.

Off topic question:

But when I buy the pro I want to give my ps4 to my brother. So say I am using the pro can my brother play on my ps4 simultaneously? Under the same user name. Or we gotta pay for another psn account? If it matters we barely have any digital games. 95℅ of ours games is physical media.

Your brother can create his own account, then you can setup his PS4 as your accounts home PS4. You'll share your PS Plus membership that way so you can avoid paying for two memberships :) also shares any digital games you own.

He will need his own basic (free) PSN account. You're gonna make your account the primary account on your current PS4 (that you're giving to your bro), and he will reap the benefits of PS+ on his free account. You will be able to play on your own account on your new PS4 Pro simultaneously with your brother as long as you are online.

4K HDR TV just arrived today, Finally all setup and everything.

The Horizon Zero Dawn video on youtube in 4k without HDR already looks noticeably better than what I was seeing via the gamersyde video on my old 1080p TV.

Also, my GTX 770 is struggling with 4k resolution LOL. Showing white specks here and there when running at that resolution, very noticeable on still images. Knew it wasn't good enough for gaming, but didn't expect it to struggle with just the OS function and video playback. May actually push me to upgrade my GPU soon (still good on the CPU and RAM front though so it'll only be the GPU that gets upgraded).

Can't wait till Pro. I hope the media player on the Pro can play 4k HDR files. Would be nice. Only HDR source I have at the moment is the Xbox One S (which is not working properly with this TV at the moment, a firmware update for the TV is coming next month to fix that), and Netflix with a few titles here and there.

Any PS4 Pro deals going on? With the Xbox One S there was a ton of awesome deals but I have not seen a single preorder deal for the Pro yet.

Probably once its actually out. The really good deals on One S didn't occur until release and afterward.

Slightly off topic but I thought it wasn't worth creating a new thread. If I am trading in my PS4 for a pro on the day then what am I going to do about the save data on the console? I know of the new process of transferring data via Ethernet but I am losing my PS4 before I get my pro due to the trade in. I do have access to my wife's PS4 if that helps at all but I don't have my profile as yet connected.

So do I need to create a backup or are all my saves connected to the cloud and will come with me when I load the profile on the pro?

Congrats on your new TV. Watch the Days Gone 4K developer diary. And the Killing Floor 4K trailer.

Then go watch House of Cards in 4K and drool.

White specs sounds like artifacts from a bad overclock. Running a game at 4k should not cause that, it should display fine at 4k, but frame rate would be really bad. White specs appearing is something else.

What TV did you get? Sounds odd that the Xbox One S is not playing nice with it.

Just got the 55" 4K HDR10-capable tv.

I. Am. Ready.

And the hilarious thing is that a few days ago I wasn't seriously considering the Pro or a 4K tv. It not only won me over but my financial situation just got a lot better, so I figured "why not?"

You can back up all of your data(saves, games, captures) to an external hard drive and then restore it to your new PS4.

I am still waiting for some official announcements on PS4 Pro patches for PSVR games. This is basically what will make me keep the PSVR or take it back. While I really enjoy the PSVR the poor IQ and resolution are just really bad in most games...some games do look decent, but if PS4 Pro is going to really enhance PSVR I am going to keep it...if not I do see keeping something as expensive as PSVR and have most games with some of the worst IQ I have seen.

I hope next week we get a updated list of games that will be getting PS4 Pro patches and what features running them on the Pro will bring. I think like many in the other thread about the bad marketing of the Pro that Sony opens the doors on information. With it being about 10 days away or so, you would think there would be a lot more info out right now.

Just locked in my Amazon trade-in for my OG PS4. Threw in my extra controller and got $204 towards my Pro.
When do you have to send it in by? I know they usually give you a pretty big window for trades.

Which TV you bought that don't work on Xbox one?

If you have + then back it up to the cloud.

The cloud only backs up saves. External hard drive backs up everything.

I thought so but someone told me that a back up can only be used for the same PS4 which did not sound right at all... Will do - thanks

Yeah they were definitely wrong about that.

ps4pro doesn't need deals to be a success?

Not initially it doesn't. The PS4 didn't launch with a game. Early adopters don't generally get deals.
