PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

Looks like it's possible to select all saves and transfer to/from the cloud or a USB device. I should be able to transfer all of my saves to a thumb drive, and copy them onto the new console, right?

I'd rather reinstall and redownload games as I want to play them. It'll be way more convenient than a full transfer, and I like the thought of starting fresh.

Save them to a thumb drive and transfer over, yes. I do recommend uploading the saves you really care about onto the cloud as well in case something bad happens.

I have a 2tb but the biggest external drive I have is 500gb. My plan is to delete stuff off my 2tb and only keep the games I'd like to have immediate access to, under 500gb, and do a back up transfer of that

42 bucks is basically an extra game. Go for it. (Free shipping is for RedCard holders plus an additional 5% off)

I don't trust them, but I preordered through them anyway because I wanted to use my Red card. I'll be out of town for the whole weekend following release, so it's not a big deal if it arrives late. One page indicates it'll deliver "on or shortly after release date," another says November 11th. We'll see.

im not a RedCard holder so there goes free shipping probably also im not from the US and the app is geolocked (i tried to download it). that's too bad, guess im sticking with amazon

I rather redownload only the games I really want to play than do a system transfer that will take that long. Good excuse to take out the garbage.

This is also my plan. There aren't any games on my PS4 right now aside from World of Final Fantasy that I absolutely have to keep playing over the next few weeks, so I'm just going to redownload that and let the rest stay on the old PS4 when it moves to another room.

My plan is to delete most of the stuff I won't play again anytime soon on my 2TB PS4, and make sure to transfer shit over to save PT. I can't lose PT. No way.

I will, these I'm getting at bargain bin prices as is. Definitely waiting for BF to get some of the bigger games like UC4, GTA, Witcher 3 Complete etc.

GTA5 is $30? Less with gcu at best buy currently. You may as well grab it now since I doubt it'll go lower during BF, plus no gcu stacking at BF.

Same situation here. I plan to get it down to a couple hundred GB, do the ethernet thing and switch to a SSHD in a month or so. I checked with the nerds in the SATA3 thread and they seem to think those babies'll fly in the PS4P.

I imagine that I'm not going to able to simply pull out the 2TB HDD in my current PS4 and plug it in to the Pro and not have to worry about downloading anything, right?

Your imagination is on point.

I don't have an external drive to backup to though....

Then you're gonna have to do the ethernet transfer and wait :) Just delete all the games you don't have to play right away before transferring.

Guess I'm just going to go the backup method. You lose PT like that, right?
I'm going whichever way will not make me lose PT. Which way is that please? D:

P.S. Thanks for the Target tip! Saved me 30 bucks over my Best Buy order and I'm trying to see if I can just do in store pick up. (I opted for 11/11 shipping.)

Let us know if you have any success with the store pick up. Are you calling? The website doesn't show pickup as an option.

I'm not calling. I'm doing Target chat. Hopefully this works, but if it doesn't I'm probably cool with it. Saves me 30 bucks after all. The Best Buy gamers rewards business doesn't really give you much from buying one of these, does it? I couldn't tell. Also, so I WON'T lose PT if I use the Ethernet transfer, correct?
I did a HD backup transfer and PT made it over safe and sound.
Oh thank god. That's the ethernet transfer thing, right?

I'm gonna put Pro downstairs fresh.

Move the downstairs PS4 upstairs

Sell the upstairs PS4.

Then in the new year I'll probably sell the other PS4 and buy a second pro.

Think I'll do that. It'll also be a good opportunity to clear saves that I don't care about.

Target 10% wishlist coupon works on Pro preorders for $40 off

Thank you for posting this.

I ended up canceling my older preorder that had free shipping and was delivering by Nov 16th. I upgraded to release date delivery for $15 and saved $58 with the Wishlist 10% + Red Card 5% discounts.

Will these be readily available in stores? I have one pre-ordered from Amazon but am thinking about picking one up from Best Buy on my lunch break on launch day. Should there be an issue with getting one?

I'm pretty sure you can walk in and grab one from the shelf on launch day. No indication that it'll sell out anywhere.

My local GameStop said they'll only have 5 or 6 in stock for launch day, so I pre ordered one just to be safe.
