PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

Is that even going to happen though? New games will be developed with the pro in mind but due to Sony's mandate there will not really be any unique experiences that involve the pro. I am more excited for better performing and looking games which is all I expected from the system.

I'm assuming he means games optimised with the PS4 Pro's specs and unique graphical capabilities in mind.

Edit:

Okay so he's uninformed.

Well, those games are coming and will look awesome anyway :)

Some developers who weren't before, may start building their games with Pro scaling in mind. I'd imagine that would come with some benefit over games updated after the fact to take advantage of Pro. I doubt it would be significant though.

A lot of games essentially already are designed for Pro because their multiplatform engines are already scalable for PC hardware considerations.

no, this is just a PS4 on steroids, this is not a generation leap like a PS5

He shows on the stream that it is on Pro at least

Ahh, ok! Thanks for letting me know; I was searching the video to see if he'd go to the video options or something. Know the only questions left I have is ofc if the patch is on disc and if there is a more than one mode for the game. Do you have a Pro, btw? If it seems smoother to you, then I'll believe you for now ;) Watching the stream a little bit before posting, it does seem a little bit more stable for sure.

I haven't seen "a lot of these games" but the ones I've checked out in shitty compressed youtube videos have a pretty damn noticeable difference. Maybe the general consumer wouldn't really notice, but anyone who is at all interested in the console is probably into this shit enough that they'll easily notice.

I knew a silent console was too much to ask for. FFS Sony.

I respect the shit out of MS for how silent my Xbone is. Hopefully, the Pro doesn't wobble, vibrate, and sound like it's going to explode once a disc is in the drive. Original PS4 build quality is shit.

Jeff has always been more about the gameplay and content then about the resolution of games so super sampling or 4k is less important to him which I assume is what that tweet is about.

Ehh. I've been really disappointed that the first half of this generation can't even 1:1 display games on 15 year old HD standards.

Count me happy that the Vaseline smear of non 1:1 scaling is FINALLY going away. It's probably not a problem for those with small TVs or desk setups, but my 65" TV brings out the problem pretty clearly.

This. PC already has higher settings for most games.. In general for both Scorpio and Pro, they aren't changing the baseline, only allowing PS4 and Xbox owners to have higher settings and resolutions that were already available to PC players, with the benefit being exclusive titles as well will have higher resolutions and certain graphical updates to take advantage of the higher rendering power.

But people must keep in mind that whatever comes down the pipe will be LIMITED in scope. This is not a new generation and should not be expected to significantly change anything about current gaming development, with the baseline being PS4 and XB1.

Yeah I just got charged. I am not happy since I still didn't have the money and Amazon usually charges on the day when it was supposed to ship which was the 8th...now I'm the negative in my bank...

My KS8000 arrives on Wednesday. Already have my new 2TB SSHD. The wait continues until the 10th.

Also, the pro comes with one of the new 4K ready hdmi cables right? Not sure if I should even buy one before then.

Geez, the low ballers when trying to sell my PS4...might just do the Gamestop route.

Be patient....I was getting $150 offers at first, but only a day later I was getting a lot higher....sold mine for $220, and that was just the system and the controller. But I understand that we're getting down to the wire lol

Has it been bad? I'm considering putting mine on CL today in the hopes that I can get at least $50 more than I would through GameStop.

Fuck I hate selling on CL...

I got $300 canadian for my launch PS4 with controller, a camo controller and CoD: AW and Infamous.

Fingers crossed I get it today, but since Canada Post doesn't like actually delivering things to doors, I should be able to pick it up tomorrow at the latest.

Amazon still hasn't shipped my copy of Titanfall 2 that I ordered on Friday with prime... not counting on earlier than Thursday for the Pro at all now

Have it on CL, no offers yet. Trying to sell for $200, in great condition. Put it on Offer Up yesterday, someone offered $75. Other people wanted to trade. SMH.

Mine apparently shipped today. Should have it on wednesday hopefully!
Downloaded The Last of Us as I haven't played it yet. Now we wait.

Okay just got the call about my TV delivery. Will be delivered Wednesday between 12-5. I'll take a half day on Wednesday and then take off Thursday to mess with the Pro!

Mine says it is estimated to ship on the 8th. Generally, they ship to me starting at some time at night meaning it hits my distribution center the next day, and goes out for delivery a day later. Likely on the 10th for me as stated but we will see.

Any random special retailer offers for the Pro? Or just order from anywhere cuz its $399 everywhere?

seems like it.

PSA, If you sign up for Target's WishList App you get a 10% discount coupon that can be used for anything, including the PS4Pro. Brings it down to about $390 after taxes.

I got hyped for a second, but they're only offering $95 on trade-in for a PS4. If I decide to go the trade-in route, that erases any savings from the 10% off, since GS is offering $150.
