I'm in the same boat.
My plan is to backup saves, profiles, captures and P.T. to USB > swap my 2TB drive to the PS4 Pro > restore the backup > redownload what I'm currently playing > redownload the rest.

1) You can do that with an ETHERNET cable not USB (direct connection PS4 to PS4 Pro)
2) If you want to keep your current drive instead, you have to backup everything on an external USB drive and then transfer to the Pro via USB

Edit: I guess you could then use the Walmart gift card to buy a visa gift card and use that to buy a Best Buy gift card and get GCU discount of games if you have that or an Amazon.com gift card from a place that sells those if you have prime for discount on new release games. Just a thought.

I have the same issue and my solution is using my xbone 2TB USB drive to temporarily backup the ps4 then switch hard drives and restore to it in the pro.
I was hoping I'd be able to just put the old hard drive into the pro but reading around that's a no go.

You should definitely trade up now seeing as you have two. As previously stated, the value of your current PS4 will only drop as PS4 Pro gets closer to release and OG PS4's value will probably significantly drop after launch. As you have a 4K HDR TV already you'll enjoy quite a step up in IQ and colour range/brightness. I've seen the benefits in person, and the differences HDR and 4K rendering techniques bring are pretty remarkable.

I don't know. It means the last 2-3 days before it's in the wild are going to be really packed with information.
If the embargo was up sooner, it'd give us more time to talk about and analyse all that information in the week leading up to release. I think some minor stuff will get lost in the noise now.

Yeah they reduced the price temporarily the other day.

No official word, but yes we can safely rule it as a 5400. But hopefully the SATA III pipeline will maximize it, OG PS4 wasn't.
