Not the greatest news from Digital Foundry in regards to Pro so far
Also, Richard seems adamant that there will be zero differences in games played on PS4 and PS4Pro without a patch, even though according to his notes, Cerny told him that the only thing they did to emulate the original PS4, was to downclock the GPU and CPU to base PS4 clock, and shut off half of the GPU.
Which still doesn't account for the actual architecture differences in the GPU and the PS4 GPU giving better results by default in GPU bound scenarios, let alone speaking of the bandwidth increase that was never actually spoken on.

Basically games will have to be patched to have any performance increase, unpatched games won't have access to the second GPU and therefore run just like before.
This is disappointing, especially since the minimal upgrade in the Xbox One S did give some performance benefits without the need for patches.
Here goes attempt #2 at another walmart
Waiting for them to bring it out. They're taking a long time. Probably not good.what was the outcome?
What are you talking about? The GPU in PS4 pro is just two OG GPUs taped together /S.There is no second GPU
Odd tidbit. The group I commonly game with on PS4 nearly nightly saw the pics I posted of the box and being at the register. I had to explain to the four main people I play with what it was they were looking at. One thought It was just a 1TB special edition. I don't want to think that this lack of knowledge about a PlayStation console release like this is that commonly unknown, but... maybe it is? Maybe Sony has failed that bad marketing the thing?

My "non-hardcore"-gaming friend who only play FIFA etc don't know what a Pro is.

Non-hardcore gamers probably didn't know PS4 was out when it launched until they saw it at a store. Same here.

okay, so I'll ask "Do you have the playstation 4 pro in stock today" avoid using that "that comes out today" part
Costco doesn't have any at all. I give up. You win Sony

lol, I didn't need to ask. They were just there, in the case. I asked if I could get something from the case. Yesterday and today. Both times they brought them to the register politely and tried to ring them through. Their system isn't giving them a release date. They checked both times.

Atleast quote me directly. We don't know the actual situation of passive performance just yet until we get direct gameplay tests.
Sony's own enforcement of emulating PS4 hardware is not 100%
