PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

I'm still uncertain if these are screenshots taken by the PS4 Pro while running in 1080p mode or the shots he took
at 4K resolution then "simulated" by reducing the resolution.

Forgive me, but I just want to be clear. Will these shots be exactly the same as the shots I capture on my Pro when running in 1080p?

Screenshots were captured in 4K, I don't know where the 1080p ones come from

I don't believe for a minute that it looks this bad on PS4.

I originally ordered mine within minutes of it going live, but I later got Amazon Prime and thus canceled and recombined a few of my orders to get the Pre-Order discounts and such.

Fingers crossed that they ship it on Monday, but Tuesday with 1 day in transit wouldn't be half bad either.
That might be it, then.

Best of luck to you, in having yours shipped soon!

can I change shipping method of current orders if i buy prime now?
Nope. As far as I know, in order to get the Prime benefits, you need to cancel/re-order. :(

Amazon.ca

It's two-day/expedited shipping, so I should have it Tuesday of next week (hoping). The tracking says the 14th, which is way later than it should be. I guess we'll see. :/

No wayyy I hope the same happens to me :( although its been saying will ship the 8th for awhile..

alright i just bought titanfall 2. i've bought so many games that i wasn't planning to just so i can compare before and after pro haha

I already have a ton of games that are getting patched. I started inFAMOUS just to test out HDR and will play through it again in 4K. With the narrative around here I forgot how good it actually is!

Can someone help me out?

before I sold my PS4 I created a backup of the HDD.

I want to install a new HDD as SOON as I get the pro unboxed. What files/instructions do I need to adhere to in order to make this happen?

1. Download the latest firmware: http://dus01.ps4.update.playstation.net/update/ps4/image/2016_1011/rec_741cfe2f0dec1bb4663571de78ae31cf/PS4UPDATE.PUP to a USB stick. Place the file in the update folder you make by following these steps
systemupdates-ps4_pc_update_clip_diagram_us-us-02sept14.gif

2. Swap out your drive with the Pro's drive

3. Plug in the USB stick with the firmware on it and boot the PS4 into safe mode by holding the power button until you hear two beeps. Make sure you do this with the console fully shut down (no rest mode).

4. Plug a controller in via USB like the screen suggests and press the home button to sync it to the PS4.

5. Select "Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)" and go through the steps

6. After the OS is installed and you can use the PS4, go into system and restore your PS4 with the backup you made.

AWESOME ! thanks. I wonder if the restore process will take as long as it did initially. It took almost 5+ hours to get the data off the 2 TB HDD

Can't make a new thread on this, so i'll ask here:

I'm planning on selling my PS4 before buying a Pro. Are the correct steps to first deactivate the console as your primary, then do a full initialization (format)? Sony also suggests backing up stuff onto a USB, but what exactly gets backed up? Saved-games, account info like games purchased etc is saved online anyway, and i do not have any pictures, video or downloaded games that i have issues redownloading later. Is backup necessary?

There's a thread on this already.

Me too. I have zero time for another MP shooter. What am I doing?

multiplayer games can and will have enhancements. They just can't target higher frame rates than the standard version. They can even have more stable frame rates

Which is what I'm reallllllly hoping the BF1 PS4 Pro patch does,
I know it wont beable to maintain 60fps, but if they can do 1080p with no dynamic res and a better framerate than what we have now, I would be so happy.

Doesn't BF1 have framerate as a variable on their servers, they should let Pro players play each other at 60fps if so (and the game is even capable) but they won't.

what do you mean? BF1 already targets 60 on consoles. Pro would just hit that target more often

In your case, no backup is needed unless you maybe want to just get a copy of your saves just in case.

Think he means in the server settings to search for custom games.
And they dont, and I hope they never bring that in as it would seperate me from my usual buddiesd who havent got a Pro yet.

Edit::
And cross posting myself from the HDD thread for trhe Ps4 Pro:

Has there been any indication the firmware for the PS4 Pro will be any different to the PS4?
The last thing I'd want, and I imagine most of us who are changing the HDD would want, is to be up shit creak with the wrong Firmware attempting to be installed.

I assume it will just be the same, but the Pro "unlocks" features in the firmware itself.

Saved data and user accounts are backed up. It's a good idea for people with a lot of users on their ps4.

Not sure if there is a different firmware but I am pretty sure that if there is, it wouldn't let you install the wrong one.

I was just thinking - my son's PS4 is my primary PS4 so that he can play the games I buy, too. I think that means my saves are not being backed up online on my other PS4. Hmm :\

I think you get online saves with PS+ so if you have PS+ your saves should still be uploaded on that secondary machine. Might not be automatic though.

And your son's saves won't get uploaded at all even on a primary machine - its the one PS+ feature that isn't shared across users for some reason (cost probably). Very annoying

hhmmm...if I'm going for a new HDD in the Pro but I'm doing a straight transfer (with network cable) I assume I'll need to install the latest firmware on the new HDD?

Dang, my local Walmart had the pro price sticker out but I asked one of the employees (he was a bit younger) and he said they didn't have them out yet.

I'm gonna try a different place and find an older person lol

Question on sharing games. I'm planning to keep the master account on the original ps4 and go secondary on the pro. Curious if I can play online with someone using their secondary account with access to the master and myself using the pro. Don't expect anything but could see it as good gain.
