PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

(Slightly off-topic) Sweet, just got an email from Amazon saying that my trade-in of my old PS4 was appraised and done! I chose the 'get paid instantly' option last week and was super worried that they'd send it back because it actually had a lot of scratches that I wasn't aware of. My PS4 Pro shipped last night so everything is set! Come to pa pa :V

Nice.

So GAF, what do you think the odds would be of me being able to stop at a Walmart at midnight on Wednesday and being able to pick one of these up?

Don't know about Wallmart but Gamestop is certainly not doiong any midnight launches :(

Mine shipped from Amazon last night (US)! Didn't get an email about it which is weird, had to check the order status.
and now i wait...

Amazon should ship everything today for you guys hopefully. Here's hoping more of you get it a day or two early! I'm hyped for Thursday. ^_^

Amazon still hasn't shipped mine.. Looking forward to it though. Currently backing up my current PS4 now before I sell it to a friend of mine.

I canceled my Amazon order since it seems there's no chance of getting it early now (not that there ever really was). Don't fail me, Watertown Best Buy. :

to people who have the console already, HOW LONG IS THE HDMI cord? Been trying to get an answer to this for days.

I'm confused... it wants you to plug an ethernet from one PS4 to another, but then how would they be on the same network? Or do they not need to be? Or do you need to go wireless?

The 2 PS4s basically make their own little network, using a direct ethernet connection with a regular cat5 (ethernet) cable instead of a crossover cable. No hubs, switches, routers, or WiFi needed!

thanks.

I wonder what's faster?

[PS4]----[Router]----[PS4]

or

(on Wireless) [PS4]----[LAN CABLE]----[PS4][/QUOTE

If cables are involved at any time, there is absolutely no wireless connection. The fastest method will be a direct connection between the 2 PS4s. ESPECIALLY if your hub/switch/router is only 100mbps.

thanks.

Most people say both are slower than USB backup. I wanted to do network backup my self but also don't want to wait 6 hrs to play my pro. Still on the fence.

I wish there was more info on the PS4 lan transfer speeds. Someone was saying it took over 9 hours to transfer less than 300GB of data over a gigabit router. At that rate I may just redownload the few games I'm playing at the moment.

I don't think people consider the fact that they also have to perform a restore from the USB drive as well. It takes a few hours to back up (depending on how much data is on your HDD) and it will also take few hours to restore.

When you perform a direct data transfer, it is completed in 1 fell swoop! (faster overall).

That's what I keep hearing, if that's the case wouldn't it be faster to just backup games you know you want to play to USB? I mean I have the cod bo3 1tb ps4, it's almost full, that would take forever to transfer.

Not sure where to even post this info, but before I left for work my PS4 downloaded a Trackmania Turbo patch that adds 4K support.

I hadn't heard that game was being updated to 4K so that was a nice surprise.

Don't have a 4K TV yet and my launch PS4 still works fine, but damn I'm so close to pre-ordering a Pro from Amazon.

Backed up my PS4 last night to an external......320GB from SSD took 2 hours to back up to my external. Used a y cable just in case as well
