Not right now at least. You can boot up xCloud on your mobile, tablet, TV, PC or Xbox. At this time Sony only has it available on PS5, which doesn't quite make much sense to me because if you can stream a game, you can download said game just as easily.Very cool. If MS isn't careful, sony is gonna take away xbox's cloud niche.
But Sony's using Azure for streaming PS5 games, so I guess it's a win win for both parties.
It's only PS5 for now, but there's nothing really stopping them from expanding it to other platforms if they want. Not right now at least. Agreed. And Sony tried to argue Microsoft's dominance on cloud, as a tactic to stop the Activation acquisition, lol. It's only PS5 for now, but there's nothing really stopping them from expanding it to other platforms if they want.
Once they do, then xbox loses it's one advantage. PS is such a more dominant gaming brand that it'll be a serious threat to anybody wanting to seriously enter the cloud gaming market.
So are taxes and death, what's your point?
I Though it was CMA?Agreed. And Sony tried to argue Microsoft's dominance on cloud, as a tactic to stop the Activation acquisition, lol.

If you close your eyes enough. Can the portal do 4k?
Not locking cloud streaming to their console?Very cool. More options are never a bad thing.
EDIT - And you can stream your own library? Something Microsoft has been talking about enabling on the Xbox side for literally years but still hasn't arrived with xCloud?
EDIT 2 - And 4k/60fps??? Again, something xCloud is incapable of?
What in the fuck is MS doing over there?
Just another way to play my games. No way I'm bothering with this on graphic showcases.Cool. Cloud gaming is the future.

I recently subscribed to Geforce Now Ultimate. Its a fantastic service, it now means that i can play Cyberpunk 2077 on max settings.
You can use it for free on PC (in 30 min sessions or something), at least it used to be. Dunno if you get access to the same GPU grunt though. What do you stream it to ?
I'd be curious to try this. Stadia sucked IMO. Curious if this is any better.
PS5 cloud streaming is exclusively available on the PS5 console at launch.

Very impressive latency IMO, probably even better now than when I used it
Ouff, I really can't tell because I only used the free version but I was very impressed with the latency even on that one. The poster you originally quoted probably knows for sureHypothetical. Alan wake 2 comes out and I want to play it max everything streamed to my wired pc with great internet. Would it look better than on a 3080? The issue with stadia I had is it made all games look blurry AF.
They offered streaming on everything in the past, android, iOS, TVs, Playstation 4, Vita but this changed as they pushed the successful PS4.That's got to be temporary. Otherwise I don't see why players are choosing to play the game in a worse state than they could on the hardware they own (if it's PS5 games on a PS4 that's a bit different). The draw here is that you can play games when you don't have a console, I can't see Sony not going that way with it.
If they do, it might be a good way to play some PS exclusives buy picking up a month of PS+ Premium every now and again.
Depends on the membership tier you choose. If you choose priority membership it wouldn't look better than your 3080 because that tier gives you 3060 or 2080 equivalent servers. If you go Ultimate tier it will be a 4080 rig that will perform better than a 3080. Whether it will be blurry or low res depends on factors like your bandwidth but it will try to aim for up to 4k.Hypothetical. I stream to PC. I tried Forza Motorsport last night, it's flawlessWhat do you stream it to ?

They were right to say so at that moment in time. And of course they wouldn't reveal their own plans there and on that time. But yes, I think Sony has a much bigger chance to succeed than the opposition if they'd really make work of it.Agreed. And Sony tried to argue Microsoft's dominance on cloud, as a tactic to stop the Activation acquisition, lol.
Maybe because as market-leader, Sony just does their thing silently, while MS has to PR their way back to being somewhat relevant.I'm a little confused as to how 4k streaming is coming to PS cloud before Xcloud, considering how much more focus Xbox has put on cloud streaming as a concept.
Sometimes I get they feeling they internally go back and forth on a monthly basis in terms of what their real focus should be (console, cloud or PC).
You can already do that. The remote play app for PC exists, supporting your PS4 and PS5. I think also for phones. At least for PS4.Does that mean I can play from my bedroom, while PS5 is on the other side of the house?
If Sony one day decides to allow this on the Portal.....

Something to investigate then, thanks."Your own digital library" is kinda huge. That means they would need to have every single game readily installed (or install it practically on the fly when someone chose one niche game which might actually be easier since speed is there but gigantic space with the same required speed isn't) and not just a selection of their own.
But I wonder how 4k 60 is suppsoed to work. The current remote play app from PS5 to my PC does not come close to that. It has imho more lag, with a rather short in house connection, than PS3 server streams which seem to have less lag than PS4 server streams for some reason and is certainly a massive downgrade in fidelity. If it theoretically is even FHD, it is compressed af and a PS4 (even Pro) game looks suddenly a lot closer to PS3 level and not even at least native PS4 in amateur resolution anymore.
But if it is PS5 streams on a PS5, it is as pointless as PS4 streams on a PS4 are. Why would I do that? Streams are for alternative devices and allowing lower platforms to play the next gen, and maybe cutting install times for some short tests, but not for actually playing a full game.

They ain't. Azure isn't used by Playstation. But Sony's using Azure for streaming PS5 games, so I guess it's a win win for both parties.
Ehhhh, even Microsoft puts a lot on cloud and it is t really as big as many think right now. Majority of people either don't car work simply can not functionally access the system. Hell, here in Australia we absolutely can not competently use cloud streaming despite having a national broadband network that delivers above 300mbps.It's only PS5 for now, but there's nothing really stopping them from expanding it to other platforms if they want.
They currently don't see a reason to for business reasons, or are just doing a slow rollout.
Once they do, then xbox loses it's one advantage.

You could have already done this with remote play.Does that mean I can play from my bedroom, while PS5 is on the other side of the house?
I love it! Bring it on!!!Fuck off, streaming
