Unlike Xbox pads. Can't just toss in batteries. Nope. It's dead. I've gotta stay wired or get a new pad. That's such shit. Also why do they die so fast?

Beyond infuriating to me. Let me toss in a couple AA's and call it new again.

I have a charging dock and switch controllers. I rarely ever play long enough that the battery dies in the first place.

When my Dualsense died I'll just spend 2 minutes putting in a new battery.

I just wish it had cheap ass AA's that lasted ages. Once dead. Install in 1 second.

It's insane companies are against this practice. Apple is no different on their phones which I've owned since the OG in 2007. They FORCE you to go pay an arm and leg for a replacement

As someone with two young kids, fuck all you battery people. All these cheap ass kid shit constantly harassing me. I'm debating never buying my kids anything without rechargeable batteries.

So no, you're wrong. Charge your controller like everything else in your adult life. And move out of your parents basement.

Buy a 20 pack of AA for $10. Charge that fucker for years and not worry about it. I dont wanna buy 2 controllers and what is a portable battery? It recharges a battery that can't hold a charge? I'll need an explanation

To be fair to OP the default battery sucks. Was stuck with a controller that could barely last an hour, but I found a different solution. Took my Dualsense apart and swapped in a 3rd-party high capacity battery.

The only argument I could make for the original battery is its slightly lighter than a hi capacity battery. Still feels like Sony cheaped out.

I've never had a ps rechargeable die on me. Even my ps3 one with no rumble still works. You just got a lemon.

You can buy replacement batteries. Bought one for 9$ from Ali Express and came with all the tools needed to open the controller (A precision scredriver and a piece of plastic). While not as easy as replacing AA batteries, it takes about 10 minutes to replace a battery if its your 1st time doing it. Just make sure to watch a youtube tutorial video showing how its done cuz all the 4 screws needed to open the Dualsense are hidden. Its not an hard operation.

Personally i prefer batteries than AA's (AA's are bigger and heavier) but a back door to easy access the battery to replace it without needing to open the controller would be welcome.

As others have also said, I've never had a PS controller die since they've been wireless. Not saying it couldn't happen, but if it has, by you, multiple times, it might be something on your end.

Personally, it's whatever. I don't mind either option.

Damn casuals. Battery doesn't hold the charge anymore=waste $80 for a new controller. Cringe🤢

My batteries were holding like 1h of charge on my launch controller. Bought a new battery off of aliexpress for $10, and now, the full charge lasts 20h, which is more than twice as long as a brand new OEM set from Sony. Complaining about the drift is a valid complaint, but batteries? Come the fuck on.
