Yes, I'm quite serious. That's how bussinesses PR works. In fact, there's only one other company whose products are popular enough for people to crave info from and stays secretive until the last minute: Apple.
BUT...Sony ain't Apple: they don't have a "leakers" strategy like Apple and don't go to every newslet to do PR. Instead they've been quiet.
And yes, silence also delivers a message...and not a good one: means they don't control the narrative.
Sony won this generation for only 2 reasons: Microsoft's ineptitude at launch, AND controlling the narrative. If they want to win the next generation. they have to control the narrative. They have to get people talking about what they want, shutting up trolls, dissmissing FUD and get Jim Ryan talking at every single media outlet.
I, for one, as a consumer, want to have straight and honest info about PS5 simply because I need to evaluate which of the two next-gen consoles will bring me more value for my money.
