I think the chances are good for that. If the new Xbox really cheaps out and only has 2GB of RAM, the Ps4 could go with 3 or 4 and that would give them a major advantage.

This is why I hope all three are fairly close technically. And also fairly advanced spec wise.

The last thing I want next gen is for say the Wii U to win the sales war and for it to be noticeably less powerful than the other two but hav most of the ports based on the Nintendo limitations thus hampering all multiplat games.

All it takes is a couple nifty design tricks and that power advantage seems like nothing

Besides, at this stage of GPU and CPU development- it isn't the power that truly matters in Consoles any more for the most part... It's the content and services and most importantly flexibility

It's not like back in the day where power differences meant color amount... Pixel shaders, tesselation, texture quality

I mean... 90% of the ps3/360 graphic comparisons come down to slightly different resolution textures or slightly different resolutions... Which is something that not many people really care about and what i see likely being resolved in the next generation

It will probably be down to "omg this version is only using 2xAA!!!"
