Seeing some east coast posts. Still not up for me (New Jersey) though I've been watch streams fine.
There is one for PSN that I was able to find, I did not see one about all of the other services
The Sunday truce has been around as long as the game itself, man. I mean, you know what I'm saying? You can do some shit and be like what the fuck, but hey, NEVER on no Sunday, man.
They did? Link?
And is this the same group who DDOSed blizzard last week?
Has Xbox live ever been hacked? Seems weird you can seemingly only hack psn.
I rarely ever hear these kind of attacks happening to other forms of online. It's really rather odd.Why didn't they hack Nintendo instead?! Or Steam, or Ouya...
These hackers need to be dealt with, asap. But Sony is also at fault for being hacked so easily. This would've never happened with XBL.
Screw those hackers.
You won't believe how deep the Metadata they have on you goes. So, I guess Muslims who want to play video games are somehow not affected?
Do you know how many times Blizzard has been DDoS'd like this in just the past couple years? (Hint: A shitton)
Have they ever been hacked on any large scale in the past few years? No.
DDoSing happens. Its shitty. Its stupid. Its nothing to worry about (per se).

lol... "It wasn't our fault, it was the lizard people!!"Someone better unhack this situation for the Madden launch. Lord knows EA doesn't need any help fu*king up an online experience.
Are they claiming they're doing it for ISIS on all of them, or just Sony?
btw PS4's sounding annoyingly complicated by some of the posts here. Is there no option to not have it try to sign in automatically at startup like PS3? Having ta pull the ethernet cord or worse, switch off your modem seems super inconvenient just to play single player stuff![]()
Whats the point of this?
DDos, hack, or whatever. I don't care, I'm not using my card on PSN anymore. Strictly PSN cards or my Google wallet card. The sad thing is, for most of these clowns this is just practice. These same "hackers" will be Network security for Sony and other major corporations in the future.

be like my aunt and try to put zero personal information on the internet ever
he ded nawI like how silent he went after those ISIS tweets.
With all the people who have been trolling Microsoft after their X1 reveal I'm surprised no one tried this on them. Or I wonder if countless people try but they are just more prepared for DDOS attacks to happen?I rarely ever hear these kind of attacks happening to other forms of online. It's really rather odd.
Today marks a milestone for the war on freedom. We've managed to ruin a nice relaxing Sunday and have forced people to leave their homes and enjoy sun light, human interaction, and be productive. Alluh Akbar.
Impossible. If she pays utilities or has any relation with a bank, her info is already on the Internet and already being passed around for sale
Who wants to bet they do this again on the eve of Destiny's launch.
No that will be the severs being overloaded from actual consumers.
more like they want to meet a judo chop from liam neeson. Also greetings fellow redskin fan.
They went after brazzersthey also dos gw2,wildstar,runescape,brazzers
they also ddsod krip last night and one of the devs from blizzard who was gonna stream
I did not berate him/her. If TheChewyWaffles feels berated because someone got annoyed becuase TheChewyWaffles did not read thread or try to understand what was actually going on, then TheChewyWaffles can try and defend him/herself. Personally, I feel that TheChewyWaffles deserved all the flak...not berating...flak he got for following post. There's a big difference between correcting someone and berating them for not knowing. I'm pretty sure that's the point the poster was trying to make.
Pretty much. And some of you are taking it personally that people are ignorant, too. Get a grip.

But why? Just for fun?
"The Lizard Squad"?
Looking at their Twitter I'd say it's a bunch of kids that'll get caught sooner or later.
I have to agree with you. I'm sure other online networks are just more prepared for these kind of attacks. With all the people who have been trolling Microsoft after their X1 reveal I'm surprised no one tried this on them. some people are missing the main point of my post regardless of them assuming that i'm defending customer's who do not know the difference between a DDoS attack and general term of "hack".
my main point is that, regardless of why PSN went down, whether it be a DDoS attack, hack, or some guy spilled his morning coffee on a magic power button on a west coast server grid.
All the customer sees is that they cannot connect to PSN. They go through normal network diagnostics of checking if the wifi on their phone works. after this, your perfect statement of "something went wrong with it" is the perfect analogy for the situation.
the main reason i'm posting is because it seems that there is an arguement present that "its a DDoS attack so i have no reason to blame Sony for this".
the average joe doesn't know what a DDoS attack is so most likely terms the situation as a Hack. The average consumer thinks "something went wrong at Sony". PR at Sony knows this is what they think too, regardless of what the minority at GAF are saying. Some of us here aren't the "general consumer" and are more inclined to know whats actually going on, I'm assuming that you think 100% of PS4 owners should have your level or knowledge to come up with this opinion as well. If this were the case, I'd have no job
i dont even know what DDOS stands for. really its not my responsibilty to know.
just like its not my responsibility to know why my brand new car has a check engine light on.
the general consensus is that something is wrong with the engine when a check ENGINE light comes on when actually the gas cap was not tightened and your leaking from the evap system
it was a figure of speech to support my main point that: hack or ddos attack, it does not change what end consumer sees on their screen when they play their ps4. If we're on the subject of willful ignorance, i suggest you then go learn all of the possible DTCs your car can set when the CEL comes on
