Would this actually particularly useful for anything? An exploit to run unsigned code still wouldn't get us on its own to CFW on a 3000/Go, right?

I just flashed my friends PSP-2004 from 3.60 > 5.03 > 5.03 MHU and now I want to install 5.50GEN-D3. When I launch the installer I get an (FFFFFF) error. What should I do next? Install a M-33 first and then go to GEN?

I tried to update my secondary PSP from 3.90 M33 straight to 5.50 Gen-D3 and it kept failing. I had to skip up to 5.50 Gen-A first, and then I was able to jump straight up to 5.50 Gen-D3.

The actual video doesn't show the exploit but the user proves it is 6.20 by showing SenseMe and Digital comics and then running homebrew and an ISO (I don't know why he chose to run a SpongeBob game :lol).

Has anyone gotten Savage Moon: The Hera Campaign (the PSP Savage Moon outing) to run on M33? I get a "This game can't be started 800" error, so I think it's the DRM/firmware check preventing me from running it on M33. I assume I need NPD to strip the firmware check from it?

So what's the best way to install this latest custom firmware if I have an original 1.5 PSP from launch?

Remote Play isn't happening on CFW, as you need a firmware check between the PS3 and PSP to use it

(Unless the LAN option is usable, which to my knowledge it isn't.)

[Meanwhile, AdhocParty can be used between a CFW PSP and PS3 as that requires no firmware checks as it's ad-hoc]

lol I'm so far behind on the CFW scene. I'm still running 5.00 M33-6. (haven't been using my psp lately), is there any benefit to jumping to 5.50 GEN's?

Running GT, Disgaea 2, Persona PSP and a few more "new" games that have come out and won't run on 5.00-M33, yes. Otherwise, no. Not really. If you aren't playing new games or wanting to, there is no need to update.

i play remote play (not over the internet but on same lan) with my cfw psp 1000 and my ps3) i only use it for streaming movies from my pc to my pS3 to my psp :D

I have been wanting to use remote play for a long time on my PSP, really would like to play PSN purchased games back and forth between the two consoles. 6.00+ firmware would be a step in the right direction if only to get access to the store again.

I just upgraded to D3 and was wondering if I did something wrong since Persona no longer loads. Is this something inherent with D3 or should I try again?

It's a problem with D's.

You need to go back to B to play Persona or bitch at GEN to fix their shit.

How so? There's video of people with 5.50 GEN D3 running Birth by Sleep as well as reports of it working, but they said you have to have the UMD in the drive because the new security it implements constantly checks the UMD for information.

Because I have a PSP that's 5.50 GEN D3 with the actual legit game in the UMD drive along with the ISO on the memstick and it doesn't work =P

I heard PSP-3000s with CFW might be able to run it that way. I have a 1000.

What are you talking about? I just loaded Persona on 5.50 Gen-D3 just fine. If it's not loading after the update, you probably forgot to switch the ISO Loader mode back to the Sony one, since the updates usually reset that.

So I downloaded some demos from PSN to try (using Media Go on my PC) but none of them work. The demos are Resistance Retribution, Echocrome and Secret Agent Clank.

Keeps giving me a "The game could not be started (80020146) error. I'm on 5.50 GEN B, I think.

Did a little searching but no idea why I can't play them, they're not particularly new demos. Anyone tell me what I can do to make them work or if it's a lost cause?

Now I feel so stupid! That's exactly what it was. I was worried I would have to play it through UMD.

When I try going to PSN, it says I need to upgrade my unit, and when I do system upgrade, it tells me that I have the latest version.

Also, games like Gran Turismo PSP and DiRT dont work on it....

Is there anyway around it!? At least for me to go to PSN???? HELP!

Do you have multiple PSN accounts in different regions?

This normally happens when you download something with one account and use another to play it. If this is the case, you need to activate the right account on your PSP.

I need some help, a friend from work has recently got his daughters 2 psp's and got a family member to put CFW on it. Now he just got himself a couple of 4gig cards and he asked me to transfer everything from the old cards to the new.

Now the problem is i try to copy from the old mc to my pc and it stops everytime it comes to an exe files, which also alerts my anti virus program. Now is there anyway to force it to copy all its contents or is there another workaround?

Any help would be great.

There shouldn't be any exe file on that memory stick, chances are it is a virus indeed. I will just delete the exe file, ( after inform the coworker of course).

PS: some autorun virus will infect your PC by double-clicking the MS, so don't just shut down the anti-virus software then copy. If you really want to copy the exe, do it on a Mac or Linux system.

Thats not saying we're getting custom firmware 6.20, just rather people on 6.20 can now homebrew their system.

Disappointed still no new Popsloader files have been ripped now for ages, had wanted to get FF8 for a while. Oh well, I'm sure when I'm forced to go legit rather than wait for GEN catch-up week/month after Peace Walker comes out I can grab it then :/

hmm, well it does have a gb emulator on it, but other then that i dont think there is any other programs. So you would say its ok to just delete the exe files without it messing up the cfw (its 5m33-6)?

You mean a gb emulator for Windows? And think about it, if your anti-virus software identified and warned you about the file, it has to be a virus targeted to Windows platform. Anyway, it is totally safe to delete the exe file.

Since this is just a user-mode level exploit I am imagining there wouldn't be a way to gain kernel-mode level later on? It will be interesting to see what comes of this.
