It happens sometimes. The homebrew app 'Savegame Deemer' should be able to resolve those issues.

Does anyone know how to use Savegame Deemer to fix corrupt CFW files? I've read over some tutorials and stuff but I don't see anything specific to how to fix corrupt CFW files from a previous CFW version.

I really want to fix my Jeanne D'Arc file. :(

EDIT: Found a link that shows a tutorial how to fix corrupts: http://www.maxconsole.net/forums/showpost.php?p=1122026&postcount=3

EDIT2: Just got done using this to fix my Jeanne D'Arc corrupt save, works perfectly now! Followed the instructions in that thread to the T. The only thing to be weary of is that the save file description will be incorrect, but once you load it up it will be in it's correct position. But yeah - really happy now I can finish this game! :D

i've been out of the psp cfw scene for a few years.

can the psp 2001 be downgraded?
The PSP-2001 can be hacked via the Pandora battery but only if it doesn't have one of the newest motherboards on it.

I've been reading the past few pages and now I'm confused. What should I upgrade to, CFW 5.50 GEN-D3 or 5.03 GEN-C? I'm now on 5.00m33. Do I need 5.00m33-6 to follow the upgrade path below, or am I good to go with plain ol' 5.00m33?

5.00m33-6 -> 5.50GEN-D -> 5.50GEN-D2 -> 5.50GEN-D3

In 5.00 M33 (or one of the older M33) I think after you set the CPU clockspeed to 333/166 it will stay that way even when wifi is on. Before 5.00 M33 the CPU speed would default to 222 no matter what you do as soon as wifi is turned on. However in Gen-D3 it seems like the problem is recurring.

I tried cheat tools like cwcheat to switch the clockspeed in real-time but it doesn't seem to work all the time. When I tried it on Gundam vs Gundam Next, it either works or freezes my PSP, and even when it works, the clockspeed again defaults to 222 after a round is played.

Does anyone know a workaround for this? Games like GvG Next and Phantasy Star Portable 2 I think benefit greatly from the increased clockspeed during multi-play.

I have a question for all of you.
On my PSP, some buttons on the home bar don't work. The START button is the most annoying problem.

But the home button and volume up and down buttons still work. I was looking at custom firmware and saw that there are many button swapper which will switch the functionality of buttons on the PSP. Sadly, EVERYTHING is for swapping X and O buttons.

My question is whether there is some program or hack which will allow me to switch the functionality of my start button with a volume button. I mean, if people can make programs for X and O buttons...why not make a universal button changer.

If anyone knows a way, please let me know.
Much appreciated.

Hit up the Macrofire plugin. Should be able to do everything you need.
Do make sure to find a recent build, though...

Has anybody tried Crash Team Racing (original PSX version) on CFW 5.5 Gen D3?

I grabbed the PSX disc with Alcohol 52% and converted it to a PSP eboot with PSX2PSP V. 1.4.2 but it just won't work, when I start the game I just get a black screen and I have to shut down my PSP. The last time I tried this game was on CFW 3.9 M33 or something like that, I could start it, but when I tried to start a race it crashed ;)

Other PSX games I tried out worked without any problems (Soulblade and Final Fantasy 6) on 5.5 Gen D3.

Can someone help me out here?

The following is written on this site:

"Attempted rip from original 'Platinum' PSX disc (SCES-02105), froze on loading a race for all pops. Menus worked fine and hub world, but at faster than usual speeds (varied depending on version). Downloaded a patched copy which has a built in PAL/NTSC switcher on the original ISO. Works perfectly on 5.00 M33-6 (except usual PAL borders). "

Hmm do I have to download another CTR eboot file then? I guess it's not illegal as I do own the original right??

So how do I quit CFW? I want to go from GEN-D3 to OFW 6.20, but the official updater refuses to start up, saying my PSP is at version 9.90. Anyway around this?

Boot into Recovery Menu/Configuration and change the option to enable/disable to "use version.txt"

does anyone know how to put the games category folders in some sort of order
i believe the order is by the age (date) of the files inside

PSP Filer will put the folders in any order you like.

Edit: Apparently, something called Homebrew Sorter GUI B2 can sort within categories.

No, that is tied to PSN so we will need a new working version spoof for PSN (or a real 6.xx CFW) before we can do that again... unfortunately D3 does not have this, nobody has solved it yet.

Seems like Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep doesn't work on GEN-D3. So importing is out of the question since I don't have a pandora at the moment and the cycle continues for the wait for GEN-D4.

shit, thought that would happen.

One of the few times I'm glad I have 2 psps around. Hope the game has an install at least.

All the Triple Triad talk recently has me wanting to play Final Fantasy VIII. What version of Pops is the game actually playable on?

I'm sure this question is commonly asked, but I'm trying to upgrade a PSP from 3.71 M33... can I go straight to 5.50 Gen-D4 or am I going to need to get at least 5.00 m33 first?

32 gigs in the size of microsds
crazy

i'm using 2x16gb with photofast, still blows my mind that you can put so much memory in a flash card

Same here. As it is, 32GB is almost too much if you don't use some kind of categorization plugin like Game Categories Revised. 64 would be deliciously ludicrous.

I'm still on Gen D2 here, to get to the latest D3 do I just go straight to the latest D3? Or do I need to go D3 release x -> D3 release y?

Sadly no, and it won't until someone either

Releases a new CFW or updates popsloader to use the newer PS1 emulator.

So uh, considering Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep doesn't run via CFW, I have a dumb question, because I'm still considering to import it.

Can't I just create a pandora battery and have it so I can downgrade again, or does 6.0 have some special seal to prevent such trickery?

Any PSP that is able to be hacked via Pandora will always be able to be hacked via Pandora. Its exploiting a bug in the CPU itself, not the firmware. There's not a damn thing Sony can to do block it short of stealing your PSP and replacing it with one of the ones that can't be hacked.

Ah, okay. I used the battery on my PSP-1000 to make a pandora battery almost a year ago for my PSP-2000 but I forget the whole mechanics.

Do I have to hold a button, or have something on my PSP Memory Stick to cue the battery hackery?

I want to make sure I can get back to my silly little apps before I even import :lol

Bebpo has the game and going by his post up there he's also got CFW, so I guess the reports of the UMD working on 5.50 GEN D are accurate.

I'm pretty sure that he's also posted that he has two PSPs. He may just be playing it on the second PSP with official firmware.

Yeah, I have 2 PSP 1000s. One on OFW one on CFW.

I'm going to try some tests to see if I can get it working on my CFW psp with the actual UMD after I update to the latest D3 but I don't expect it to work.

Yeah, nothing works. No way at all to play KH BBS on CFW. Only solution is to go OFW and then downgrade with Pandora after you're done with BBS.

hey guys,

I'm a little concerned about updating to from 5.00 M33 to GEN. For some reason, my USB connection is messed up. I can play all my music just fine, but when I plug it into the computer, I can't access the data. It's as if my data is on ms0:/ but when I plug it into the PC, it wants to write to ms1:/ (Those numbers may be wrong, but that seems to be the problem). Does that make sense?

Anyway, the only way I can write things to the memory card is by accessing it through the M33 recovery menu, since you tell it which of the "drives (ms0:/, ms1:/, ms2:/) through the USB.

If I update from M33 to GEN, I'm afraid I might lose that ability.

Did you try a rip of the game AND the UMD at the same time? That's the only other thing I can think of, but it sounds like reports of the UMD running on CFW PSPs are bullshit.

So I was thinking of picking up the bigger battery so I'd be able to actually use my PSP on the go again. My current battery holds no charge, so I have to play plugged into the wall, which is OK for the most part. I'd be able to change this POS battery into a pandora battery correct? Also, I'd be able to use the pandora battery to just stick a new memory stick in my PSP and get the files/structure needed to just drag and drop my PS1 Eboots I've made. My 4gb stick is just too small to keep more than one or two PSP game and a few PS1 games on at any time now, and memory prices are dropping like a rock.
