Have they confirmed Sixaxis support or is this just rampant speculation like most of this thread
Pallaris said:-EDIT i'm confused, apparently not confirmed.

spwolf said:it was confirmed for playing media on TV... ie your psp is connected to your tv and you sit on your sofa browsing it via sixaxis.
Maybe you caught something I didn't in an interview or w/e but at the press conference there was definitely no word about battery life, nothing in the Pulse interview, nothing in any other media that hit me this week. I'm at a loss where this pessimism keeps coming from but there is a possibility that I haven't seen everything.Pallaris said:-EDIT i'm confused, apparently not confirmed.

Thanks for that article. I think I've been sold. Sounds very capable.

Although you have to wonder how much Sony is giving to retailers and how that might impact future price reductions of the go? They're basically giving away PSP dev kits for little and PS3wand dev kits for free, so they're probably giving retail a nice margin on the go (While still makinga lot per unit sold for themselves I'd imagine). Although maybe their agreement with stores is X percent of price instead of a flat sum of.

Tobor said:The smaller screen looks to have solved all the problems Sony has had with PSP screens over the years. That's an easy trade. Besides a 3.8 inch screen is more than big enough for a device like this.
RazzleDazzleRB said:What problems are you talking about? Ghosting and interlacing? Or other problems?
Battery tech absolutely lags behind all the other advances in portable devices. It's the achilles heel of this sector.Pallaris said:So in 5 years they haven't been able to produce a smaller more efficient/higher capacity battery?
Obviously not. I expected better.
Reallink said:Something doesn't sit right with me about handing Best Buy/Gamestop (or any retailer) obscene profits at my own expense just so Sony can kiss some ass for PS3/UMD shelf space. Does this mean there are going to be online retailer's (major or not) selling at near cost, like $150? Are there going sales battles in general since there is so much profit built in?
I don't think that's right. I just can't see Kaz screwing up a detail like that on stage. Certainly not without later clarification if he did.Binabik15 said:According to the German wikipedia it´s 108 grams light, that´d awesome (43% less than PSP 3000, not phat).
Psychotext said:Quick calc to check that.
PSP1000 - 280g
PSP3000 - 189g
PSP Go - ~159g (43% lighter than PSP1000)

Koller told us battery life would be about five to six hours

Edit - Here's a press release where it states 158g: http://www.mcvuk.com/press-releases/47999/PSP-go which fits with the calcs I did on the last page:
spwolf said:i believe it is lighter than PSP-3000... US specs said 108g. I cant find link anymore.

White or Black that is the question.

Same! I watched a couple of vids and didn't see it, then on a recent video it became really noticible. I'm not sure I like the glitter at all.Gamecocks625 said:I was all over the white at first, but looking closer it seems to have a glitter finish to it. Not a big fan of that. I would have liked it to be a normal white like the original DS Lite. I might go with Black afterall.

For all the people complaining about $250, I willl probably have to shell out 2.5x more money for that new SE phone (Sation/Aino) which probably costs about the same amount as PSP to make![]()
Tobor said:This is what happens to you with most things you buy at retail. Cell phones and video game systems were an exception, and now gaming is coming back to reality.
Oni Jazar said:Since the system is sold at a high margin, won't a lot of places like DELL undercut the price?

Question: reading the Ars article they make it sound as if having no removeable battery helps guard against piracy. How is that so? Maybe I misunderstood.
right...Tylahedras said:You know the "Phone" half of "iPhone" it's kinda important to the usefulness of the device.
But it's not like Sony knows anything about phones so I guess it makes sense they would let Apple's platform walk all over them.
