Actually I think a clamshell design would be just great for the system. I like my "portables" portable. It would be even better if they could put the disc-bay in the back and reduce the width even more to practically the screen size. Plus the clamshell would be good protection against scratches.
Sure it might not look as "sexy" as many like to say. But it would definately be more practical.

Meh, iPod was sexy when it came out a few years ago, but geez, it's just getting old now. "Look, we took the original design and made it SMALLER! BILLION SELLER!". And they're right... shame really. Wish they'd come up with something that had the same sexiness as the iPod when it 1st came out, but was totally new. iPods design is so boring.

Yeah, I think I could go for that. I like the way my DS clamshells (particularly in the way sleep mode is tied to it), and assuming the controls didn't bump into the screen when closed, this would remove some of the screen paranoia people have about it.
But yeah, that Gamecube SP... I think what sells it best is that display when it's closed, how would they even pull something like that off? There's literally no backing where LCDs are for the characters or anything, and I doubt the whole top would be a screen too... that's something you see in sci-fi movies, but how would it be realized?
