Wait are the tracking issues with the headset or the wands? The wands tracking is garbage on the old pseye so that wouldn't surprise me, but all I care about is the headset.

God damnit guys this headtracking, is it good or not? The giant comb stream issue is the outlier right?

You seem sureGiant Bomb's issues aren't representative to what your going to get.
Check out streams by Game Informer, Gamespot, Jim Sterling and Kinda Funny, among others.God damnit guys this headtracking, is it good or not? The giant comb stream issue is the outlier right?
The best answers right now are "it depends" and/or "we don't really know for sure how it will work in your environment". It seems maybe situation specific but some best practices will probably emerge as the public gets it hands on it that will help everyone.God damnit guys this headtracking, is it good or not? Too true. What happened to the GB guys was real, there's no denying that, it remains to be seen if it's a unit problem, room set up or if that's how PSVR will behave in general. As it should, it's an incredibly stupid comment to make.
But I've been in this thread since it came out and while there have been those (including myself) worried about the potential for faulty systems, or those that think that the reviews don't look too good (I think they look fine), no one has outright said that they want PSVR to die or even hinted at it.
It's asinine and I have no idea why people are playing the victims.

so why does Giantbomb has to hate 90% of everything game related now? I'm sure they have their reasons, but I miss times when they were excited about stuff![]()

I hope VR has dropped in price once the psvr2 gets released. Prefferebly between $300-400.While critical about tracking shortfalls (more of an issue with games involving standing and moving around) Tested (one of the best VR sites) are overall recommending the PSVR as a 'no brainer' purchase for ps4 owners interested to dive into VR. More cautious about pc gamers who already have Vive or Occulos, but even there they say it is worth it for the more social experience, exclusive games and comfortable headset as long as those people are willing to live with the compromised tracking solution vs pc headsets.

If Sony are able to iron out some of the issues I would consider the PSVR an amazing feat of engineering (especially when taking into consideration the price point) and a definite purchase.
As it stands, I will wait for the first price drop and some killer software. Or maybe skip the first generation of PSVR and wait for the, no doubt already in development, PSVR2.

Do you think that would be possible if it were to be released 3-4 years from now?
Well, a few other places had the same issue.
This is OUR problem though:
We don't know if it is indeed a faulty hardware issue or all those places were far from the camera and had lighting problems.
It could be the latter, which means no faulty hardware, but it wouldn't explain why Eurogamer (Who had the same problem) ended up getting a replacement which fixed everything, unless they played it in totally different conditions.
It could be the former, which could mean that potentially, there could be faulty units going out to actual consumers.
We won't fully know until the actual release date and once people get to try them out.
If you have a pre-order and are worried, I suggest you keep it, because if it indeed ends up being faulty hardware, you can just get it replaced for free. It'd be a hassle, but you probably won't get a PSVR for a while if you end up cancelling it.
Thanks a ton, I'm sticking with it!
I wonder if it's possible it could be the camera as well? So many moving parts. Either way I was never a huge fan of the move wands tracking so with VR it made me a bit nervous- trade shows and impressions quickly squashed that, so to hear mixed things is a bit unsettling. Like I said I'm sticking with it and hoping for the best.
Yep, some people think it could be the new camera as well.
Lots of conflicting information unfortunately.
Worst comes to worst, the people who would be receiving faulty stuff are going to be in the small minority, so chances are you'll be good.

You seem sure that he's sure, are we sure we're all sure? You seem sure
I'm trying to decide if there's any reason to get move controllers. Do a lot of games support them? Could I get away with just getting one or do I need 2?

Well, I'm going to beta test it for those hoping for a psvr2.Of course. Everything is cheaper to buy in the future fam!

That would suck. Those cameras are pretty hard to come by.I have the launch bundle coming in with the new camera, but I have the old camera as well which I purchased a bit after the PS4 launch. I'll be able to do a comparison with both.
If it ends up being the camera, then Sony seriously fucked up.

The Jimquisition review make this seems pretty cool. I might pick this up later for a good price and some more support. BOUND is my GOTY so far and I wonder how that game is through VR.
How are these games looking performance wise?
Are they all truly locked 60fps minimum as promised? Or should people expect some fluctuation?

I've played a lot of the launch line-up at this point and frame-rate is solid on every title I've tested. It suggests that Sony's QA team really is strictly enforcing the require frame-rate lock - a good sign.
If the game isn't 60fps Sony won't even allow it on the platform until it is wasn't that part of the slideHow are these games looking performance wise?

That's great news. Glad to see it.I think it was either The Verge or Eurogamer which claimed 100% stable performance for all titles and assumed, Sony paid lots of attention in QA.
It is their gimmick? I mean they are called Giant BOMB. Bombs are generally laughed at. I only recently got into them but I don't use them as a source of credibility but something entertaining to laugh at with their "I'm angry old man, kids these days, I hate everything" routine.

Has any stream shown RIGS at all? That's what I'm interested in.

I cancelled my PSVR amazon pre-order and thinking of cancelling both my BB and Target pre-orders as it seems like this might be a little bit of a fad like Kinect. Could be wrong but I'm sure these will be available to purchase after X-mas if we start hearing about better games are coming out for it like RE 7. At least by then the kinks with the tracking might have been worked out.
