Don't take GAF so seriously, as this happens all of the time. A small problem happens with hardware, everyone blows it out of proportion and people cancel over petty shit. It's like a Soap Opera for gamers. I will happily be in line launch day getting my headset.
wait I'm confused.. when are the RIGS impressions hitting? Really wanted to see how it was before this thing shipped... which is next week on Thursday. :\
Had never even heard of this game before, this looks awesome. Is there more than one level or is this on the demo disc?

Still remember the wobbly PS4.

this whole thing is very situational. It seems like this thing is either hit or miss.
I'm just going to buy it, and if I don't like it I have 30 days to return it. It's not a huge deal.

What are everyone's planned launch purchases?
I'm thinking:
RIGS
Driveclub
Until Dawn
Thumper
And maybe VR worlds as the disc to use when I get my family to have a go.
Luckily mine is from Amazon, so if I get bored of it quickly Im sure Amazon will gladly take it back for a refund if I find a defect![]()

Why would they do that? They don't have an open box policy?Luckily mine is from Amazon, so if I get bored of it quickly Im sure Amazon will gladly take it back for a refund if I find a defect![]()
I applied a Amazon gift card. My card on file is no longer valid and CS wouldn't let me change without altering delivery date. So I purchased a gift card for $536.They already billed you? Was it amazon US? I thought they didnt bill until the order shipped?

i'm avoiding anything that requires the move controllers if possible.
And here we are, 40 million+ consoles sold, even owned by those same complainers.
That's a way to lock it down. XD
Data Ghost, the RE7 issues that caused motion sickness have been fixed in later builds from what's been told.
Any reasons why? Just curious. I found the move games to be the most immersive.

This is what I am worried about. The hardware seems fine as a first generation headset but the way Sony dropped a few other pieces of hardware has me worried. Not sure PSVR can be propped up for years by indies and Japanese developers and publishers like the Vita.
I'm about to cancel myself.. I can't fight the novelty waiting to happen feeling. I was a loser with the Move (though Sports Champions to this day is very underrated) Vita didn't do so well, though I love it to death... I know some here say "you can't compare Sony's past failures to PSvr" why not? The Move was supposed to be a new way to experience games too. The intoxicating feeling of new hardware has worn off. I've gone back to my original stance..
Even my fiancée who gets motion sickness loved it without any issues.
never liked motion controls really, and i don't feel like VR is going to change much in regards to that. plus the pattern so far seems to be VR games that use the motion controls are less full fledged experiences. and i'd rather have a bunch of proper games instead since it's ultimately what i'll go back to more often rather then something shallow and simple like batman (as nice as it looks)
plus i just don't fancy paying even more then i am for 2 wands. lol. i MIGHT get the gun peripheral for farpoint if it ends up being a fantastic game, but i doubt it.
To each their own. But motion controls is a whole different thing in vr than it was with the wii/ps3. But yeah, it's very possible that it'll be limited to shorter games.

Yeah that's crazy, I assumed if it wasn't open. But to take back open electronics is crazy. What about opened games and movies? You just pay return shipping?Amazon will replace or refund an item within a year no questions asked. Im not sure they even test anything that is sent back to them. Not sure what they do with out all to be honest.
Too bad PS4 Pro is out next month or I'd be all over this.
What is the most "full game" experience that is out on any VR platform now? Because I can't think of one that's good?
I have looked forward to, and dreamed of VR since I was was a kid and I'm 39 now. Next week I have PSVR on its way........and Im considering cancelling it.
The games don't seem to be compelling and most are nothing more than mini games/tech demos.

Why are people judging this based on launch titles? If you're that unsure, then wait 6mo to a year and then decide if you want to buy one based on available software.
IThe judder/drift seems to be an annoyance even if you can find ways of rectifying it. I won't have any Move controllers as I refuse to pay another £67 for old 2010 tech.
I just don't know, I watch videos of Batman and when I see the player looking in the mirror at Batman looking back hands stammering like he is cold turkey, meh.
Oddly enough, this is exactly what turned me off with OG Wii & motion control in general. Seeing on-screen cursors, target reticles, etc. jitter and jump like an over-caffeinated amphetamine junkie made me not want to have anything to do with the tech at all.
Maybe it's just a symptom of having your hand floating out there in open space. You can try to stabilize the infallibility of non-resistant motion controls by dampening the user input, but it seems like an systemic issue with the tech itself either way.
Pretty big turn off for me in spite of being curious about "cockpit VR" experiences (driving games, space shooters, etc.). Makes me feel like I can wait for the kinks to be ironed out, or 2nd/3rd gen hardware evolutions.
I know what you mean, but personally I am dubious that we will ever really see fully fledged games with the current hardware, particularly from Sony. I wouldn't wait 6 months to purchase as the hardware is already outdated before its even released.
Id be happy using the standard PS4 controller for first person games with the VR headset for added immersion. If enough come along like this then it would be a worthwhile purchase for me.
