Damn.
My fears about the TV show portion have proven to be true.
Yeap. But they have an 'Avoid' seal. For example: Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. Unless they've had a policy change since then.
I think the lesson is more like, if you are going to focus on the story and presentation, make them good. "Effort" is not the same thing as "quality."

Yep, blame MS because they pushed hard for the TV part when they were big on the 'TV TV TV SPAWTS' thing.
Genuinely surprised that we're this far in the generation and the highest console exclusive metascore the Xbox One has is an 88. Crazy. I am glad that critics aren't over inflating scores anymore though.
On metacritic it's up to 77 now.

Seems pretty solid to me.
He didnt say that.
So true. I have to cringe everytime when someone mentions "make X game open world".I hate that trend.
We just covered this on a podcast recently. This many years in and I don't feel like either system has a truly masterclass title. That one that sort of signals the move into the high level times
Sorry, my bad. It was Syd Bolton. So, say that to him what you said to me.

What about Bloodborne?

Dont feel its masterclass at all.

Not really. This gen reviews are way stricter.
Opinions and all, but I absolutely disagree.Dont feel its masterclass at all.
That's a real bummer. I thought the video portion was supposed to be a substantial part of the experience. If they're not interesting, that will greatly impact my enjoyment. As someone who's beaten the game nearly two times: you'll probably only watch the episodes once. Just stream them and then skip 'em the next time. They're really not that interesting.
No matter how good the story is, if the gameplay is garbage the gameplay is garbage. Not saying Quantum Break's gameplay is garbage. Haven't played it. Though if the gameplay was amazing I do think the ratings would be higher. What is a bit sad to hear, is the gameplay isn't amazing. Which I was hoping for so I can finally put Max Payne 3 away. There is no 3rd person shooter on Xbox like Max Payne or even the great third person shooters like Vanquish. Here's hoping something comes out soon, Gears maybe?I think the lesson is more like, if you are going to focus on the story and presentation, make them good. Dont feel its masterclass at all. Could be good, could be great, but not one of those titles that shifts things into second gear for the industry.
What about Bloodborne?
Bloodborne got robed againDont feel its masterclass at all. Could be good, could be great, but not one of those titles that shifts things into second gear for the industry.
As much as I and GAF loves Bloodborne. We do have to accept that it isn't for everyone. It's the same reason it didn't win GOTY everywhere and Witcher did. (Witcher was my personal GOTY. I love both).
Hah I still think Killer Instinct is(was) the XB1 system seller for me, even if I am not THAT into fighting games. Sunset Overdrive was pretty great as well.

Are the episodes based in game decisions?

Some of my thoughts since the majority of you won't read my Chinese review:
First of all, let me throw the negatives out of the way. The controls have some really nasty issues, like the janky aiming animation and the inconsistency with some details like ejected casings, some interactive bits require tight positioning, coped with the suboptimal animation sometimes it's very frustrating.
Bit worried about the talk of mundane gameplay, watching vids it give the impression it wasn't doing much of anything different but your standard tps, still looking forward to it as Alan wake and max Payne are two of my fav games.
UC3 aiming alone with the hit reaction mess things. This reminds me when Uncharted 3 originally came out and the aiming was really sluggish and fucked compared to 2. It's weird because Remedy are arguably the kings of the TPS genre, so you would expect them to nail absolutely nail that part.
Regardless, I love Remedy and there aren't a ton of linear action games these days so I'm buying this for sure.
Bloodborne as a masterpiece as it is, didn't do anything groundbreaking, at least not enough for me to consider it as an iconic title for PS4. I think Uncharted 4 has the potential to become that, like how we think of God of War 3, Uncharted 2 or TLOU when we think about PS3, or Halo 3 with Xbox 360.
IGN Sweden gives it a 10.
Dont they hate Fins?
