Quick Kirby Video:

fuckin awesome. i can't wait to check out some of the faster paced and more complex levels.

Sonic Team should definitely take a few notes from this game as far as game flow goes.

anyways, seems like Nintendo is doing a great job at offering the right games for their new demographic.

This game seems to take advantage of the touch screen in an innovative way. It looks like great fun. When is it due?

Very pretty looking game, but does it go any faster than that?

I'd imagine so.. that's the first level and there's tons of shyt goin' on already.

I'd like to know what exactly can be done, it looks as if some enemies can be tapped with the stylus to attack ... also they can be blocked ... I'm assuming you tap the Kirbster to attack or dash.

I was thinking the exact same thing ... I want to doodle loopty-loops

That looks great. You could see the potential of the game back with those videos from the European launch announcement event, even with the retards playing it. really get a better idea here though.

Please be long Kirby. With Yoshi Nintendo have already shown us they're willing to do challenging games on the DS, now I just want some length to the games too.

First time through I mean. I'd be happy with 10 hours.

I agree, that would be nice. 8-10 hours. However.. I remember beating Kirby's Dream Land for Game Boy in like an hour or two the first time.. and then like 30 minutes each time after.. :lol

Yeah, given past Kirby games maybe this is the wrong game to be looking to length for. Ah well, we'll see.

Yeah, Kirby games are generally not very long or difficult, but for me they have had tons of replay value.

I guess there ARE some unique gameplay ideas coming out of this stylus thing.

Kind of funny that Palms had them for years without anything significant being done about them.

Agreed. They have had quite a bit of replay value.. including that golfing one as well.. great fun.. :D

Yoshi, Kirby, Pac Man, Puppy Times, Wario Ware, and to a smaller extent... Metroid, a lot of games with some big names are taking advantage of the touch screen, and not just gimmicky either.

People are looking at the PSP vs. DS battle the wrong way. Both have cool features. I'm really happy they aren't the same thing, where one has a hard drive or better graphics. It really gives a true reason to have both beside just developer x making game y exclusive to one system.

Yea, I need that. As soon as I can get it.

That and Meteos make for a pretty tempting Play-Asia order, but with PSP launch coming up...argh, so torn. I'll buy WipeOut and Twisted Metal, wait until summer to get God of War and Kasai, and maybe import those two. Maybe.

edit: Kirby looks Jungle Beat awesome.

edit 2: Order placed. I hope that the Thursday release doesn't mean I'll have to wait until the following Monday for UPS to deliver.

what's the best place to order an import such as this??

You guys should try Kirby Magic Mirror (honestly my first Kirby game) -- it tooke me at least 20 hours to make it all the way through to 98% ...

On that note, I hope that Magic Paintbrush is (metroid style) explorative like Magic Mirror was -- I was really suprised by it.

something as unique as this MagicPaintbrush ... I'd be happy enough if it's short, looks fun enough to warant multiple plays --- Also hope there's unlockables.

didn't ahve it in them? ok captain bonkers.

anyways, i can't believe i didn't notice this til now, but the sound in the game is really week. they should be getting much better quality music out of this system.

I tend to prefer Play-Asia.com for import software, but Lik-Sang.com is also reliable. It's quite rare, but sometimes one will price a game cheaper than the other, such as Lumines.

There are others, but those are the two I've had the most experience with.

I somehow doubt that this will be explorative in the Amazing Mirror/Metroid sense, I don't think that would fit for what they're doing with this - backtracking would be pretty annoying and could even induce cramps during extended play.

I'm assuming it'll be a shorter title, more like Kirby's Nightmare in that there are set stages to complete. With something like that, there'd be oodles of potential replay value as you become more and more skillful with the controls.

Oh yea, don't forget the import comes with a swank pink stylus, right there in the case.

Now, I knew someone would comment on that, but I definitely did not expect "captain bonkers".

I like the Kirby series, but from what I've seen this game is exceptionally more creative. I'm surprised, but maybe it's just because the stylus provides them with more potential.

Oh, and I've also never been too impressed with Smash Bros

simplicity + rails + touch screen = Kirby Harmony Opus

agreed, I'd rather develop skills than backtrack with a game mechanic like this ... good thing HAL's great at unlockables ... (it is HAL right???)

I hope they hide secrets high up in levels and you have to draw the tracks just right to get up there.

Or maybe that'd be easy, I dunno.
