Well, people used to justify themselves because they thought not being a literal nazi or a member of the kkk meant they weren't really racist, but you know how's it been in 2017 now.

It's the classic "Since im not the worst, that means im not bad" fallacy.

The trajectory would be different, based on what we know of medieval African civilisations. They were sculptors, warriors, merchants, stonemasons, herders, tradesmen, artists, brilliant craftsmen, astronomers, explorers. If the builder class emigrated to America, they would have established strong trade relationships with Native Americans and the rest of the world.
There may have been slavery, but it wouldnt have been a racialised caste system pounded into social institutions for hundreds of years.
There may have been wars with Native American tribes, but I doubt there would be organised campaigns to ethnically cleanse whole areas of Indians.
There would be little to no inclination to get involved in any sort of internal European war, unless backing one European power over another meant eliminating an existential threat to American sovereignty.
I doubt there would have been an expansionist war with Mexico.
I also doubt the nation would be founded in opposition to a monarchy, there would probably be a dynastic family ruling the nation with a cabinet of appointed officials, kind of like Rome.

I highly doubt your sunshine and rainbows history would have been true knowing about the civilizations of west africa and north africa at the time.

Benin and the Niger Delta and Igbo were cool but wouldn't have been primed for oceanic traversal and colonizing. The Mali Emprire was dead. The Akan Kingdoms and Asante Empire wouldn't come till later. Morocco wasn't in any position to expand at the time.

Such a stupid statement. White Europeans at that point in time were imperialistic. Africans weren't.

So yeah. Even without racist premise it's hard to even imagine what that would look like as the whole world would be different.

He has clearly internalized white supremacy.

You're correct if you're looking at it from a 1:1 timeline with European expansion/colonialism but I don't think the poster is wrong in describing how such a version of America would look like had black people met first nations people instead of europeans.

Also, empires like the Mali empire fell around the time of the Atlantic slave trade which conservative estimates describe the displacement of 60+ million people over the course 400 years to the profit of European nations, depleting these lands of human capital which could have ushered in social/political innovations from the ashes of their previous empires. Progress in West Africa(and more broadly the whole continent) was stunted well before we could get a sense of what their full potential.

Now, with that being said, I'm not saying you're wrong, however, I don't think its as clear cut as you describe.

This sounds amazing. Reminds me of this book im reading called Eagle in Exile. Dances with Wolves with Romans and the native americans got some interesting technology
