The first few pages of this thread look like posters were having a competition to see who could say the most hyperbolic superlative after 1 listen.
Well, there's a difference between "HOLY FUCKKK!!!" and a full page review.

do any of you actually just download the files and put them on your phone/mp3 player to use?
that way you can have every radiohead album in your hand...
or am i just kinda old and set in my ways and need to embrace streaming everything?

Glad I'm not the only one getting Damon Albarn vibes from the album! This feels like a subdued yet all-the-same raw Thom York version of GorillazIf anything Decks Dark sounds like something that could had come off of Gorillaz' Demon Days.
Ful Stop sounds so damn groovy. Like something out of the 60's Mod scene.
Fine, I'll rank them:
The Numbers
Glass Eyes
Daydreaming
Decks Dark
Ful Stop
Burn the Witch
True Love Waits
Desert Island Disk
Identikit
Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief
Present Tense
Thom Yorke is a genius.
When Colin comes in at the end of Decks Dark, god damn man. That's gotta be one of the best moments to hear live.
I'm on my third listen. I'm not disappointed, but I don't understand the lavish praise.
I agree it's a much better collection of songs than King of Limbs and I can't remember the last album that had such accomplished production, but the playfulness of the arrangements compromises the punch and raw power some of these compositions must have once had (if True Love Waits is any indication). Other than Ful Stop (and even here only for parts of the track) the songs are almost anemic.
I think I like Daydreaming the most but it also sounds a bit too much like later Steve Reich filtered through Thom Yorke/Jonny Greenwood (especially the doubling of the backwards singing).
I can see myself getting bored of this album pretty soon.

Just out of interest, would anybody here who has listened to every Radiohead album rank King of Limbs as their best? If so, at what point did you first get into Radiohead?
Man... This post is tripping me out. I forget that there are people who don't do this.do any of you actually just download the files and put them on your phone/mp3 player to use?

It was mine most of yesterday, but god damn I love the new Present Tense. That's at the top for me right now but it's constantly changing. THIS ALBUM IS SO GOOD.Identikit might be my favorite of the bunch so far.
How the fuck is this album 'samey'
Like the whole album has So much range, and a contrast of textures with strings, electonic, acoustic - its like a good salad - u can taste every ingredient.
Like how can u even call the rhythmic guitar build up of ful stop, the piano driven ambience of daydreaming and the electro-string transition of tinker toy the same? They are all very different

Edit: nvm Identikit just came on it's back to this. Love Thom's mumble at :44
It's what Amnesiac would sound like in 2016 and i luv itTinker Tailor is also killing me. So trap.
What about Ful Stop tho
Such a monster of a song. It's gonna be like standing in the middle of a hurricane live.
I liked Burn the Witch a lot on its own, but I was hesitant with it being on the album. I find it works really well when the album is on shuffle and another song leads into it. Daydreaming into Burn the Witch in particular flows nicely and I like it more than the other way around.
LCO must be part of it...Unless they tour with a full orchestra though, of course.
This is what I'n holding out for. At least a string section, or why else such a short tour?LCO must be part of it...
Jonny kinda toured his solo movie stuff with them as well.
Not a full orchestra but a handful of string players.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed too.Is anyone still sad that Skirting on the Surface didn't make it besides me? I wanted that over any other song before hearing the album. Maybe one of the 2 bonus tracks.. That could be my favorite Radiohead song if there was a studio version.

Edit: Oh, and Cut a Hole is missed as well. Love that one.
