I don't care what anyone says, the dead city set piece is stunning from a technical aspect and well gameplay it seems.

Definitely the best video. Great sense of scale and the enemy encounters are excellent.

I mean it would make sense, as in the past id has been pretty good about supporting OpenGL, and most of their games have eventually ended up on Mac, but then again, I remember reading some article where they said specifically that RAGE would not be coming to Mac.

they said precisely that nothing was confirmed, probably in that article you mention.

Something along the lines of "there's currently no Mac version announced. That doesnt mean that its completely out of the table for Mac users.

There's sewers? Ugh, I try to do most everything I come across in games but developers have to learn that almost no one likes sewers in games. Dead Island was the most recent case, and they even make you backtrack through the entire sewer you came through earlier.

Saw commercials during Breaking Bad. Was in awe over the smoothness of this game.

It will be mine.

I can't believe they didn't include some sort of non vehicle versus. I'm still looking forward to the game but the gameplay looks awesome and I feel it would translate into great multiplayer.

Kind of worried about the game.

I don't think it's going to be anything more than a "good" shooter. The car combat for MP also boggles my mind.

I hope this isn't Doom 3 all over again.

Has any game ever had a good sewer level? Ice worlds, water levels, and escort missions have at least been done well one in a million times.

Its been fun gaf. I am going to tvtropes to investigate and may never return - especially if they cross link to cracked.

I like them in the Resistance series, they tend to be the more survival horror-like parts of the games.

STALKER springs to mind. Pitch black, tense, cramped and terrifying.

Great OP, I only have money to buy one game in October, this or Batman, ugh I hate this.

Same. I've had to cancel plans to get other things. November is Zelda. After that it's Mario games on the 3DS. I'm sick of FPS multiplayer so BF3/MW3 are no longer on the table (made the decisions this weekend finally). Rage's single player (15 to 20 hours seems reasonable. I like to explore open worlds so I might get even more out of it. I'm sure that isn't factoring in deaths and redoing sections either.) and world looks very tempting. These "Making of" videos are making me want it more and more.

Do I buy this or perhaps save money and start on the DLC for Fallout New Vegas or get Dungeon Siege 3 now that it's dropped to $30? Can't make up my mind.

Pre-ordered this and Arkham City today. Day 1 delivery on both + $20 toward Uncharted 3. Bless you Amazon.

October is going to be fun.

This and Skyrim are my two most anticipated games. I can't wait.

I wonder if it will come to Green Man Gaming before October 4th. Otherwise I'm going to have to pay $60 + tax on Steam :(

Saw "the making of" vids.

I'm really torn on this game. The gunplay and feel seem solid but everything else seems unspectacular. In half the vids they talk about stuff that you see in every modern FPS these days (missions! characters! guns! cars! shoot electricity on water to electrocute!) - it feels they really don't have much interesting stuff to say about the game beyond graphics/tech. :(

I really hope the overall experience is better as a sum of its parts, because while good gunplay is always appreciated, I want more than go from point A to B, kill X no. of bad guys, meet crazy over-the-top charcter, recieve mission to go from B to C and repeat. Sadly, that is the impression I'm getting from those vids (but I want to be proven wrong, id!)

I think this is because the game has been in development for 6 years. 6 years ago when they originally had these ideas they would have been fresh. But because they took far too long to develop Rage, every other developer has beaten them to the punch.

6 years ....6 fucking years!

Man, I really hope this trend (granted this is an extreeeme case) ends this gen.

Well, Carmack himself admitted that they made a mistake by spending so much time developing idTech 5, and that he won't be spending that much time on a new engine again.

Pre ordered the PS3 version. People are giving me shit already, saying it's the weakest version. I'm defending it. Any truth to what they say? I know early on the PS3 version was a bit behind the PC/360, but I assume the console versions will be nearly identical.

Word is textures take a little longer to fully load (ala Unreal Engine 3 games)

That's only from one source though, so who knows how much of an issue it will be. I think it's fair to say from the videos of the PS3 version it looks pretty solid.
