Raide said:Well, Vegas 2 seems to have really quietened down. What are peoples thoughts now the game has been out a while?
Really? Is a patch up?Cipher said:Looks like they fixed the Private First Class achievement.

Weapon Switch
Swapping to & from Pistols are now faster in Multiplayer.
Team Deathmatch Respawn Modification
Respawning in Team Deathmatch now work like regular Deathmatch (random points throughout the map) which intensifies gameplay and minimizes spawn camping/trapping.
Faster Respawns
Faster respawns for Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. You no longer have to wait a full 10 seconds!
Custom Search
Players who enter a room using custom search then exit will be brought back to an automatic search with the same criteria.
>>> FIXES <<<
Private First Class - Achievement
If you are ranked Private First Class or above, you will automatically get the achievement after the title update is complete and you load your gamer profile.
Light Machinegun Sound Glitch
When firing continuously with any light machinegun, the sound of the weapon will no longer get cut off.
Anyway, sorry to hear you're not digging it as much as me and my crew.
What's even more ridiculous is that the game's called "Vegas 2". Half the game isn't even in Vegas! One level's in France, another in some desert, another in Costa Rica (I think?), etc. And all the other levels could've been in Phoenix or CA for all we know since they were so bland.Troidal said:For me its the SP campaign, that I was even more disappointed. Story is utter shit.

Edag Plata said:I'm literally two seconds away from trading this in and just getting the first one for ps3.
I had the "please wait" glitch that I can't get rid of in single player, making it unplayable.
I hate the maps compared to the originals.
The whole feel of the game just makes it seem so mainstreamed, not very niche and playing by it's own rules like the original did, kind of like the way COD 3 felt.
I dunno. How much is the original now? There's no required install for the first, right?
Just seems like a better deal for me, am I missing something?
Concept17 said:The original is awful. It was a terrible port. Every map is dark and bland, and not enjoyable at all. The gameplay is still there, but thats about it. Two is much better imo.
Edag Plata said:So was there ever a reason why the "please wait..." screen comes up and gets stuck in the ps3 version.
Dcharlie, I also thought the game was a disappointment but the problems you mentioned are, for the most part, the same problems that plagued the first one.
DCharlie said:huh, really?
I played the first one every second day since it came out - and never saw those problems in the first one.
Were you playing X360 or Ps3 version of the first one?
I had to bold that right there. I bought RS:V 1 for PS3 because I enjoyed the game when I had a 360. Big mistake. I was so excited thinking that Ubisoft had learned from their experiences and RS:V 2 would be much improved. But judging by the impressions of the sequel for PS3, it sounds just as bad. I've traded my copy of RS:V 1 and refuse to buy any more Ubisoft products on PS3 till they get their shit sorted out. Which is a shame cause Far Cry 2 is coming this Fall and I really want to play that game, but I have no faith in Ubisoft's capability of developing on PS3madmook said:Ubi really fails at PS3 games.
Vegas 1... sluggish/floaty controls coupled with the bad framerate killed the fun, the loadtimes were longer, and for some seemingly random reason there's no brightness adjustment. Then to top it all off mp was matchmaking only, whereas the 360 version let you choose from a list of servers to connect to.
Vegas 2... slightly sluggish/floaty controls also coupled with a lower-than-360-version framerate dampens the experience, and the loadtimes are also longer (even though there's a 2.5 gig mandatory install and a 100+ mb patch). The mp is the same as the 360 version, letting you choose from a list of servers, at least that was fixed. And for some seemingly random reason there's STILL no brightness adjustment for the PS3 version.
I liked the maps better overall in Vegas1, but the sprint function, jump-in-anytime mp, respawns in terrorist hunt, and much faster loading times (360 version) make me favor Vegas2 overall.

I then started a co-op thunt... then after that was done attempted single play again and it worked fine.
The "sniper" shotgun was there in Vegas 1, which pissed me to no end. The random spawning behind your ass was in T-hunt Vegas 1, just not as crazy as Vegas 2 but it was still there.

DCharlie said:wow - i never noticed.
the problems in V2 must have been more pronounced though for me to be utterly shocked by them.
The biggest problem was the bounded box triggering of spawns. I mean - you could literally look at certain places, throw grenades into a small room, no one hurt. Step forward and you see 3 or so people pop into existance. :/
Anyways, if you fancy shooting some "tourists", Elly and I are always up for it
But yeah, in Vegas 2, its really that much worse, like you said, they suddenly just appear in front (or behind mostly hehe) of you! At least in Vegas 1, they pop up from the other room, not the same room, so you have time to brace yourself ;-D

What? You're talking about LVU, right? It's not on my copy of the game. How'd you get it?Deepblue said:Just got this game and I have to say, the Highschool level is FREAKING AWESOME. Also - Thunt remains the best part of the game. Maybe it's because I got it after the patch hit, but I'm having a ton of fun.
That level is in the SP campaign. I vaguely remember running through an empty basketball court/gymnasium.Duck said:What? You're talking about LVU, right? It's not on my copy of the game. How'd you get it?
Yeah, some of the maps are pretty shitty.DeadCell said:I'd like to get back into it but I was bored to tears with the current maps and can't be bothered to toss it back into my 360.
Oh, that. My experience with that level was marred with a terrible framerate at the beginning so I didn't enjoy it that much.madmook said:That level is in the SP campaign. I vaguely remember running through an empty basketball court/gymnasium.
