I started today mainly based on what the ISNA said. Man was it hard or what, getting up before sunrise wasn't too bad and I went to sleep fairly easily after eating and praying (although I almost was late for school). But then I had gym class and right after I had to referee soccer which was kind of a bitch and now I've been friggin thirsty for atleast 5 hours now. Atleast I won't have to referee next week and doing gym while fasting isn't too bad considering I've done it for the last 3 years.

Seriously though there are health benefits as well. It's not the reason why we do it, but a bonus and naturally leads to a better life.

Wait, not even water during the day? I thought it was just no food.

You follow what occurs at the nearest city with the a normal day/night cycle. It's a problem in northern Canada too.

Days are insanely long where I'm at but only in the summer, the days get extremely short in the winter. It's 6am to 7pm, not that bad. If it were a couple months ago, 3am to 12pm, that would have been nuts.

Just noticed this thread.

Fasting is a bit longer this year, with it moving ahead a couple weeks.
Where I'm at its around 13 hours from sunrise-sunset. 1st couple days are difficult to get used to, then its fine.

Fight for freedom, where you at? Same timezone I guess.
