Ratchet & Clank FFA Vita Delay; FREE Deadlocked For Early Adopters

Gotta grab those 10 last percent before that ! :P

Stupid glitch fucked me over so bad, lost the will to play another 3 times

Will get on that horse and ride it into the sunset, but my ass is still chapped from getting barebacked by the glitch =/

I was really hoping Deadlocked HD was for Vita as well. Nice gesture regardless, its actually the only Ratchet game I never played

so I've had the game since launch, finished the campaign (and got a few trophies) but never played online, does this count as "going online" since I have a few trophies and I'll qualify for Deadlocked?

I kinda liked Ratchet:FFA and played through the SP portion. Still fun!

And Deadlocked is the only PS2 one I haven't played! yay :3 I am in the EU, but I think I bought it on my USA accout because I had walletmoney there... I think

I gotta check when I get home.

From what I can read, yes. Its says to have played the game while connected to the internet. Nothing about the multiplayer.

Go talk to the PS+ thread. They'll love you there.

They're idiots and only ever pay attention to the very few good things SCEE manages to achieve, not the consistently botched store updates ("oh, you bought the demo instead of the full game? Go out of your way to call customer service"), the idiotic delays often gifting Microsoft exclusives (like CS GO), the absurd prices and the ridiculous regional differences (Aus/NZ miss out on a shitload of games). SCEE are out-right terrible.

So, bumping this thread to ask about the free deadlocked download. If i buy a USED copy of FFA does it affect if i can claim the free copy of Deadlocked? Does the deal only work with new copies of the game? I've got the itch to play FFA since the announcement of the new one so I wanted to see how I could also get deadlocked in the process.

How do you buy a used version of FFA?

AFAIK it only works with new copies. The disc benefits feature should only work on the first console the game was put in. How exactly that works technically I don't know.

How do you buy a used version of FFA?

It was sold on a disc.

did deadlocked ever actually come out??

In US yes, in EU, not yet.

has anyone in the US got their free version of deadlocked? i never received a notification or anything

Yep, it's available from the PSN store. You need to start a download of FFA again (can cancel it right away) & it actives Deadlocked on your account so you can go download it for free.

It showed up in my download list when the Vita version came out.

Haven't actually played it yet though, still have to get through the HD Collection :/

but I have the disc version of FFA? I need to start a download of the vita version?

I recently noticed it in my download list. They never actually notified me.

It's alright. I had never played it. Seems to lack the charm of the other R+C games thus far. It's like a sci fi gladiator battle, over and over. Weirdly serious.

Really? I'm surprised by that, I'd have guessed they just offer a code or something. Alternatively each disc has a unique code embedded with it so that you can only activate the disc benefits once. But if you can really only use the disc benefits on the first PS3 you put the disc into, I'd like to know how they do this.

The bigger question is if they fixed the technical glitches the game had with the cutscenes. Some of the character distortions are pure nightmare fuel.

There doesn't seem to be a solid answer for whether a used copy will work or not so I'm going to pull the trigger and get it used from amazon. Should have an answer to this by Saturday...

I just tried a 'used' copy on my sisters PS3 (It's my copy that has already registered the disc benefits on my PSN ID on my console). If I try to activate it on my sisters PS3 and account I get:

"This disc has already been added to another account."

Further more, a slip in the game case states:

"Cross-Buy [Disc Benefits] can be activated only once, via the first PS3 to load the game disc"

If you buy a used copy it is highly unlikely to let you access disc benefits on your console/account. It would only do so if the game had never been loaded onto a PS3.

It might work if the PS3 it has been played on hasn't been connected online since. Meaning the console has not registered the unique disc code as being used online.

Most likely case is you put in the disc and you get a message like:

This disc is linked to another PS3 system. Please put the disc into the original PS3 system this game was played on to access this feature.'

I believe it must work as each disc has a unique sector written onto it with a 'serial number'. When the disc is run (You press x on the game on the XMB) on a PS3, the PS3 reads this 'serial number' and sends it to a server to link it to the consoles unique ID and to tell Sony the disc is now used.

You can then, I believe, link the Disc Benefits to any PSN account on that PS3 the disc was registered with. This then adds a PSN ID to the disc 'serial number' and the consoles unique ID on the Sony server.

Any attempt to link the disc to any account on another console should not work, unless the original PS3 it was put in never connected during or after the game disc was put in and run.

Well, if anything i could return it and get a refund so no biggie. It's coming from Amazon's warehouse deals so it might just be a new copy that was damaged in some form and is being sold at a discount. Fingers crossed!

We're still waiting on this in the EU, it came out in May for the US.

I guarantee you when it releases there will be zero differences between the EU and US versions, this delay is a complete waste of time.

The game is still going through QA. It's taken so long because SCEE wanted them to fix bugs. So we might actually get a better version.

Insomniac just did such a damn good job exploiting the PS2's hardware that porting it is a difficult task.

Speculation on your part or fact? I really wish they would do something to fix this game up.

I downloaded this a couple weeks back. I never really played any of the PS2 ratchets but I own Future TOD, Crack in Time, Quest for Booty, and Full Frontal Assault. I thought Deadlocked was a blast. It was nice to just focus on combat.

If my ps3 didn't get the YLOD I totally would have bought the HD collection and a PS+ subscription to get Ratchet All 4 One.

We’ve been wondering about Gladiator ourselves. It’s caught in some approval process or something while trying to iron out a few of the bugs from the US release. Hoping to have news on it soon.

Deadlocked is pretty fun. Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal are also good R&C game. The first R&C game is good but it shows its age, especially in the control department, but if you can look past those you can see the roots that gave us all the great R&C games today. (It also has a great soundtrack). R&C A4O is the most different R&C game out there, its not the standard affair, despite being a good agme, its just more aimed at young people and non gamers doing co-op.

Hopefully you can get another PS3 at some point and give the other games a go =]

Just saw this comment too from Fred Dutton:

Sorry to keep you waiting for Gladiator. I checked in with the producer this morning and it’s getting closer. I don’t want to give you a timescale as things can change, but it will be with you soon. As soon as I have a confirmed date I will pass it on.
