Yeah, I could have went this generation without purchasing a ps5.
It's sitting at my exes house, I was worried there for a second.
Rated the show a D.
Worst one so far and I am really forgiving on these sorts of things.
That writing in concord, Jesus ducking Christ. I was in on the trailer, laughing at the writing, but as that video went on…oof.

Not to totally crap up the thread but how are you guys feeling about the upcoming Xbox showcase now that you've seen Sonys show? Expectations low? High? Meh?

Really depends on if they have any big reveals. I know we will probably get release dates for some games this year, but with the number of studios they have now......they have to have a shitton to show that we've never seen before. So my expectations are very high.

Honestly not at all affected by the Sony showcase. I already had relatively positive expectations. Gears, Perfect Dark, Doom, Starfield DLC more GP stuff, maybe a Kunitsu-Gami release date, hopefully some clarification on the handheld. Could be more. They've won the showcase wars for several years now imho, so nothing new. Pretty much the same situation for the last 3 years.

Would be nice to hear even more: State of Decay, Double Fine, Everwild, Fable, F. Horizon, but I don't honestly expect that. Basically just Gears and Perfect Dark, which is fine. Looking forward to seeing a bit more Avowed as well, maybe a city area. Clockwork Revolution would be nice too.

My problem is that every game they show that can be interested there is a voice in the back of my head saying: "play it later on a PSPro". Except for Hellblade. I'd probably play that on game pass.

I feel like showcases are a bad idea. The market is too diverse these days. So I expect some things I like and a bunch of things I won't like.

You know things were rough when even demigod demigod stops laughing.

The *ONLY* thing that I thought of while watching this abysmal showing-"Thank GOD for Nintendo!"

The dreadful, anti-climatic "reveals" of these so called "games" is akin to getting a surprise root canal at the dentist
without anesthesia. Nobody asked for them and it hurts from just the cringe of watching the trailers.

We're getting paint by number, Sweet Baby approved diversity simulators wrapped in paper thin, unoriginal game play. It's being
rammed down our throats and frankly, I know I'm not spending my hard earned money on a developer's or publisher's personal/political crusade(s)

I used to be excited as a PS5 owner as surely there would be amazing titles coming to the system, right?! Now
I'm at a point of considering to sell it to fund a Switch 2 purchase.

And I haven't even got to talking about new game prices and the unfinished states these games are "shipped" with.

The State of Gaming is an absolute shit show right now.

Always excited for shows and presentations, even if I don't own the box. Some hit, some miss.
E3 is long gone, but I will take that gamer cringe anywhere i can get it. The modern gaming landscape *chefs kiss*

I don't know how someone could watch Concord in 2024 and get excited. I was comatose after that THIRD of the show. It looks like a skin for a game we already have 10 times over.

Then you haven't been around much and certainly not at launch of GoW Rag. The narrative is the most often criticized and maligned part of the game. Completely shits on the characters and fails to provide anything of value.
I follow these discussions, and no, they are in the minority, they don't even represent 5% of the general opinions about the game (this goes for all games). And even so, the game isn't just about the narrative, it has all the other aspects, which means it's very strange for someone to say that GoW Ragnarök is the worst in the franchise (well, it's not as if you've developed the reasons for that, you've just used adjectives to refer to the game).

What personal or political crusades did you see in the show?

I mean, what is the fucking point of showing games that will get to PC at State of Play?

Nothing agaisnt PS games coming to PC, but they don't need to reserve this announcement at showcases. A simple blog would be better. Reserve all the time to games on PS5 and PSVR. Make your brand being valued and your consumers feel premium.

From times like this I thank God for Nintendo Direct. Even the worst Nintendo Direct is like 1000x better than the best State of Play.

Really only interested in Astrobot, as it was almost a throwback to the PS2 days of PlayStation when they'd release quality 3D platformers like this. I hope it sells like crazy to send a message that it's not all about Hollywood type stories or 4K ray traced graphics we are after, it's fucking FUN and quality GAMEPLAY
