If i was the head of Sony, i would call Neil, Herman, Cory and the head of each first party studio and force them to fly out to Japan, and explain in person just wtf they have been doing for the last 5 years. Then fire all of them. No questions asked. Incompetent buffoons who cannot provide a first party publisher games to showcase on your own first party conference should not be getting paid. Period.
I believe this is the strategy though. Pack the last 2-3 years of this generation with first party greats that will leave you absolutely hooked to the Sony ecosystem when the new hardware hits the shelves. Maybe you are right that they have a real productivity problem. However, I am not sure. It could very well be the overall strategy. It worked wonders for the PS4 generation where the last stretch was insanely good and made PS5 fly off the shelves.

How the fuck can anyone not like even a couple of those titles shown I can't understand
Same.

Solid B+ for me, given the recent game shows I've seen. Don't care for the lack of FP, if anything I'm glad there hasn't been any GaaS shit announced. Studios are working.

Show felt extremely old school in the best way possible. Loved some of the new reveals, although my biggest deal personally is RE2 and RE3 PS5 versions, as sad as that may sound.
RE96 PS5 version is fucking amazing, this console has truly become a goddamn definitive RE platform.

Very good for me. 007 looks encouraging. Bloodstained 2 is an insta preorder for me. Silent Hill F looks like it could be cool. MGS3 and a nod to the online. What more could you want? Best thing is, Sony still hasn't made me buy a PS5 via temptation. That's a good guy move if you think about it. Nioh 3. Cmon y'all? What more could you ask for.

I do get the sense that 12 months when this show was being planned, Concord and Marathon were at the forefront of it. I bet we all underestimate how much those flops caught SoA off guard. Thats what was budgeted to go into the big gaping "tentpole first party title" hole that's been present at the past few Sony shows. They need to axe the c-suite.

Yep. Console now got definitive physical, RT versions of Remakes and what I'm sure are going to be definitive OG versions, given how amazing RE96 port is.

That was a solid B
- Nioh 3
- Pragmata
- Silent Hill f
- Romeo is Dead
- Sword of the Sea
- Sea of Remnants
- 007: First Light

An actual trailer for Ghost of Yotei would have pushed this up to an A for me.

I think the main issue is people have started to come to these shows with wishcasting instead of just seeing what is actually being brought. Sony isn't trying to keep you subscribed to a game subscription service, so why exactly do they need to tell you everything they're doing all the time? I always found the idea of a roadmap to be terribly boring, a company with a roadmap doesn't get to really drop megatons like the Marvel fighting game.

There's also this weird idea that if what's being shown isn't exclusive today or forever then it isn't worthwhile, when even Nintendo directs are %80-95 3rd party stuff. 3rd party is the real life of the gaming industry, when it's healthy, everything is healthy, and people need to understand that a lot of what underpinned exclusivity in the past was technical in nature, devs had to work with many disparate arches, so they had to pick and choose, now the only metrics that determine 3P exclusivity are money, influence and system power/reach.

You look at even Nintendo's Switch 2 launch and they're boasting about new Yakuza 0 with like 40 mins of cutscenes and a game mode.. 2 gens ago that would have been an all-new game, not a timed-exclusive, souped-up decade-old game!

If you think that's bad, then it's going to only get worse btw. The video game industry is now considered "mature" by investors, which means we now have a ceiling on global gaming growth, so prepare for each 3rd party player to spread their goods as far as they can go.

Gave it a C. It was pretty uninteresting overall but that James Bond game and Thief in VR definitely tickled me a bit. MGS and Nioh 3 will probably be good as well.

The rest was pretty uneventful and just felt like I had seen it before. I'm sure most of them will be fine but I'm getting tired of these cartoony designs that look like one another.

People usually say that the modded source next versions are generally the best. Gamecube and Dreamcast ports being decent too. My favorite home port of RE2 is the N64 version. But for authenticity I think the PS1 DualShock version of RE2 and RE3 are the definitive ones.

I could see Nintendo working with Capcom to release the GameCube versions of RE2 and RE3 to NSO.

Went to bed early last night and just watched it. It's the first time I'm interested in most games in a State of Play

Pragmata
Romeo is a dead man
Nioh 3

Silent Hill f and MGS /\ looking good

No complaints from me. Bloodborne isn't happening

D.

Lumines looked great. FFT will be day one. But the rest, meh as fuck. Too much Japanese junk.

However, if you're a fan of said junk, I can see why you'd give it an A or a B.

I was coming off the hype high of Marvel Tokon. I did find a few other games that I'm interested in. However, the lack of new first party announcements brought my grade down to a C as opposed to a B-. Sony seems to be recouping after several blows to its live service mistakes. I can understand it's going to take time to get back on track, but this pivot has really delayed a lot of the good stuff I've come to expect from Sony directly

No GAAS? Is the world healing
Almost. I think there is one.I could be wrong, im not sure if thats the gummy bear project, its the colorful shooting game which looks like red flag for DEI and woke agenda. I did not see the title since Im not interested and glance away from my phone and went back to work.

Their best to date, a massive showing of a diverse catalog of games which is very nice, First Light Pragmata and Marvel Tokon are the standouts for me, Sony first party remains absent which I think it will continue throughout the year, 7/10

Sony is just starting to heal and learn there lesson. Probably will see more of the PS single player exclusives especially from bend and blue point and from Sony Japan made games from xdev and team asobi probably, late in Ps5 life and more on Ps6. Ds2, Wolverine, and Saros are the upcoming exclusive that will suffice for me for now.

I'm in the minority here but I didn't like the show at all.

Last night's conference was so bad. Everything besides the marvel game looks like it could easily run on an OG PS4.

The textures on that MGS game was shocking.

What an absolute shit show, 007 the only thing there of marginal interest but I'm not a huge stealth fan so that's just a wait and see.

How the fuck can anyone not like even a couple of those titles shown I can't understand, or rather, I can since the trolling from the usual and until today dormant "I switched to PC®" troll accounts was in full effect yet again.
Well let's go down the list:

Pragmata - Generic and low energy as fuck. Space station Robot TLOU/Plague Tale/God Of War '18 redux. More meme than game; Capcom really wants you to know this isn't Deep Down all over again.

Romeo is A Dead Man - Has anyone ever been convinced of Suda51 quirk since No More Heroes 1 on the fucking Wii? Moreover, this looks like shit. Like they took a bunch of pre-made assets and made one of those Chinese vaporware trailers replete with the overdone shitty particle effects, doll-like character models and dipping frame rate.

Bloodstained 2 - Nobody, and I mean nobody is buying a PS5 for 2D platformers. Much less sequels to mediocre ones that come from the great Kickstarter Spiritual Successor nostalgia grift of the early 2010s. Not to mention it looks like total shit.

Final Fantasy Tactics - So many years of e-begging for Tactics to return, and they were so lazy they couldn't even put it through the HD-2D engine. Adding mediocre voice acting to a game releasing on the PS5 is not effort, it's the bare minimum. If that doesn't bother, how about the fact that it's another remaster. It feels like the PS5's significant library is going to wind up being games from past generations.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound - More 2D shit.

Nioh 3 - Really more like Nioh 5. Team Ninja is making the Japanese equivalent of pre-Origins AssCreed, and Koei Tecmo overall is Ubisoft. They've not enhanced anything to any noticeable degree. Graphics, gameplay, barely looks distinguishable from this string of TN titles, let alone the Nioh games.

Sea of Remnants and Tides of Tomorrow - 2 MP live service ripoffs of Sea of Thieves. One in third person and the other in first. Immediate skip, no justification needed.

Thief VR - Lmao, yes, I'm very sure there's a salivating audience waiting to play EidosThief in VR in 2025. Totally.

Silent Hill f - Cheap spinoff. Next.

007 First Light - Really disappointing reveal. Bad creative direction, bad writing, asset reuse galore. This is reskinned Hitman with more shooty bang bang, and that's not a good thing.

Marvel Tokon - Good looking game, but a little over-anime'd and fighting game hype is way louder on the internet than real life. I will not pretend this doesn't have potential to do big numbers though.

So that's one, that I may not even wind up playing.

As usual, mostly smaller games. A snoozefest for me. Call me when you have big hitters Sony, if it ever happens again.
I'm giving an E, and I'm being very generous.

This was a State of Play, those were E3 press conferences. Different expectations.

You can't compare a mid-season Premier League match to a Champions League final.
Both shows are in the same E3 window regardless of names and that was the bar for an A rated show.

Sony fail to show anything different... Ever.

And so however you look at it, that's an A, this was Z tier.

Go play Warzone, yell at people!

I rated it a fat E.
Very few games I had any interest in, a couple that made me tentatively curious at most and even among all those most didn't really have a good showing.

So, EVERYTHING IS SHIT® - that's your reply.

And then you people wonder why people.consider this hobby of ours miserable - the constant whining and negativity is truly a sight to behold.

Pretty funny though, out of your shit list®, there's 5 games that I'll buy, that means that either A) I like shit or B) not everyone has to share the same opinion as you.

That's the problem, some of you think that your subjective opinion is an objective reality , now, if you can't see what's wrong with that, well...

I love how Sony fanboys are all self appointed PR mangers for the company, buddy we know all that it is still visible obvious that their first party efforts are absent.
