Near future, June 20XX. In every city throughout the world, giant monsters known as Gigants appear.
Military resistance from each nation ends in wasted effort, but in Tokyo, one boy is able to defeat a monster. His name is Ichiya Amakaze. To do this, the boy used an unknown power called “Yorigami.”
But after defeating the Gigant, the boy’s power runs wild—and in the end, the city is destroyed and the boy loses consciousness. But one young man saves him and transfers him to a safety zone.

- Story consists of 3 main protagonists each with their own chapter in the game.
- Narrative focused Dungeon RPG. Expect lots of story bits and events.
- Active Point (AP) system, where in combat all actions costs AP to perform. Overall remaining AP carries over after battle also, therefore more thought is required with ones actions in game. AP can be gained or lost from traps or events in game.
- Slash Beat Mode (SBM) is a rhythm minigame that the player can activate which allows for them to perform a powerful attack. The higher the combo in SBM the more damage is dealt. SBM is activated when the main protagonists SBM gauge reaches either 50 or 100. The difference is length of time for the SBM mode allowing for more damage to be dealt.

- Weight system. This game has a weight system where when the player consumes food items in game or from events their weight can either increase or decrease. Being heavier adds to the characters Atttack and Defense stats, while being lighter adds to their Weapon Accuracy and Dodge rating. Food items have a calorie value, higher calories = faster weight gain. Also weight is lost by performing actions in battle. Characters who do nothing in battle will have no change to their weight it seems. So basically if you want to keep your weight up for the attack & defense bonus just constantly eat food items every now and then in battle.

- Parasite System is a feature that kicks in when the players "Drive" meter in the lower right side of the screen reaches 100%. This is raised by fighting long battles and taking damage. When it reaches 100% all of the skills used in battle take HP from the player instead of TP. This can be deactivated during battle by using the SBM attack or spending 30 SP from the SBM meter with pressing L1. Outside of battle the percentage of the Drive meter can be reset to 0% when a Yellow Seed gem is used.

- Gigant fights are something unique to this game, as it splits your party of 3 up into 3 different ranges, close, mid, long. Each of the characters will have a different vantage point on the boss. Will need more game time to see what other kind of features exists for the gigant fights outside of that.

- Leveling in this game is done through upgrades to your characters Evolve Tree which is broken up into 3 sub categories, Physical / Item / Command. Resources found in the dungeon or obtained by defeating monsters is what is used to power up the various categories of the evolve tree. The higher the level of the skills in the Physical Tree (Yellow Top) the higher level your character becomes.
![]()
- New equipment is also gained through the evolve tree in the Item Tree (Red Left). With the proper resource, by pressing the square button you are able to obtain new items / equipment for that level.
- New skills & passives are learned from the Command Tree (Blue Right).
- Enemy encounters are not random. They are static icons on the map represented in 3 colors. Blue, Yellow, Red. These colors represent the difficulty of said fights. Blue (Easy) will be 1/2 AP cost for actions, Yellow (Standard) nothing special in particular about this, Red (Hard) will be double AP cost for actions.

- Auto-navigation system in dungeons. By opening the map and plotting a course you can set your character to auto-navigate through the dungeon. Useful for backtracking.
- In the dungeons there will be a Jamming Point when unlocked, you will be able to save and have all of the gigants respawn in their previous locations. This is important for collecting resources.

A: Honestly, this just came out in Japan so what do you think?Q: Any word on localization for the West?
Now that the obvious is out of the way, lets give a serious answer. There are 2 potential ways this can go.
#1 is Bandai Namco does it themselves, seeing how they are more into localizing things these days compared to the past.
#2 is NISA does the localization, similar to how they have done localization / publishing for Bandai Namco in the past.
Hard to say which way it will go really.
#1:
A: Its a first person dungeon crawler with an emphasis on story. Though the gameplay mechanics are slightly different from the usual dungeon crawlers with things such as the AP system, how commands are issued, leveling system, enemy encounters, etc. So one would have to go in with a bit of an open mind and not expect the exact same experience as other DRPGs.Q: What type of game is this?
#2:
A: This title is a little different from the usual "dungeon crawlers" though the general design of the game was made so that a more broad audience could play and enjoy the genre. So it is worth checking out if you are one who normally imports Japanese titles. Also since this is more narrative based, you will have a solid story to go along with the dungeon crawling.Q: Im new to dungeon crawlers should I buy this game?
#3:
A: Yep the physical version should work just fine. Digital also as long as you have a JPSN account to download with. Though you will need JPSN point cards also if you do plan on doing a digital purchase through the JPSN.Q: Does this work on a "Western" VITA?
#4:
A: Not exactly, but at the same time it would help or else you wouldnt know what the skill / item effects are. On top of missing out on the story. Considering that this game is more narrative based, it would be quite a shame to miss out on that content. Though if you still really want to import this title, the game system is not overly complex, so regular importers should be able to manage.Q: Do I need to know Japanese to play this game?
#5:
A: Yes it is possible, although it will make fights with the Gigants for example more difficult due to the lowered damage output and prolonged battle. This was something said by Chikami-san from Experience Inc. during a live stream. One thing is that you will miss out on some trophies though by not using SBM.Q: I'm not too good at rhythm games, so the Slash Beat Mode is a bit daunting, is it possible to still beat the game without using the SBM?
#6:
A: Yes right here, click on this text to go to the HP with the trophies list.Q: Do you have a list of trophies for the game?
#7:
A: Unfortunately not. The animated character avatars being visible is only during the command selection screen. When attacks are performed it is the usual DRPG first person type of view with attack effect.Q: From videos, since you can see your characters during the action selection phase and they are animated, does that mean you can see their attack animations too?
