Rayman Legends |OT| "It's a bit like a porno" (Michel Ancel) WiiU/360/PS3/Vita/PC

Eh, no? The Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell themed levels are extra besides the five Murphy levels that the Wii U also has. Just check the Vita trailer footage.

Amazon description says "Exclusively for PlayStation Vita system: Gain access to two exclusive character costumes: Prince of Persia Rayman and Splinter Cell Globox! In addition, PlayStation Vita system owners also receive five exclusive levels that leverage the rear touch pad." This has been echoed elsewhere. I've seen absolutely NO indication that there are exclusive themed levels based on the costumes.

Again, everyone else here thinks that the game is one of the best platform games ever made so i wouldn't worry.
it's probably just me.

I kinda agree with you actually. What's new is great, there's just surprisingly little of it. Way too many Murphy levels and very few normal platforming levels. They're also quite easy so far, not like Origins at all. The fact that they put a bunch of Origin levels there is just them recognizing this problem.

It's still great and a must-buy for platforming fans though.

I was told that there was no "Mecha No Mistake" but i'm pretty sure I just witnessed the stage locked away just out of my reach, dammit I need more scratch cards!

Heh, it's indeed in, guess I missed a painting when I checked.

Vita trophy list

PS3 trophy list

Yup, no invasion trophies on Vita.

Vita version is also missing the trophy for completing the sixth world...

Well, it's a different list entirely though. The Vita list doesn't have trophies for completing any worlds.

Right, but it's the only one that doesn't follow the same "complete xxx painting" as the others", and its final level wouldn't work all that well on anything other than a decently sized HDTV. We'll see, but man, what a mess.

if you are looking for challenge in a mainstream game you are gonna have a bad time...
be glad there is any really , people don't have time for difficulty anymore , can't really blame the developers for trying to expand their audience.

we can say what we want but maybe origins didn't sell as well as it should have because it was too hard.( and yes i know it is a really unpopular opinion to have).

PS: don't say to me that demon soul or super meat boy is a proof to the contrary they sell a 1/10 of what a big franchise sell.

TLDR: By trying to appeal to everybody and they maybe ultimately appealled to none

Are you sure about that? The only "complete xxx painting" trophy I see that mentions a specific world is the Back to Origins section. Don't see any trophies about completing any of the other world paintings.

It's a shame they cut the Rabbid themed level--I was really looking forward to that one. Maybe DLC?

I still remember this stage from the earliest footage i saw from this game and i was wondering where it went. It looked fantastic. Shame it got cut from the final version.

Wait whaaat?! For some reason I wasn't expecting this until next week and overlooked it. Are there still any active coupon deals for GMG?

edit: oops, had an EU gmg tab open. Still could VPN right?

the vita version was made in casablanca , they share some of the content but not all of it , it is probably more complicated than all of you think , there is no port on vita magic button

Share some content, so it's an almost completely different game ;)? Btw, did the Vita version not get a demo? If it did, did it contain the Invaded version?

Ugh, shame about the Vita version. I had already made room for it on my homescreen, too. But now it moves from a Day 1 to a "whenever it's on a PS+ sale" purchase for me.

Lack of difficulty i've learnt to deal with.
After all, not everyone grew up kicking and screaming their way through megaman and desert strike.
And i paid full price for the 'new' super mario bros series, which aren't really hard either.

But the lack of new content in this is ridiculous.
5, i repeat 5 worlds.....
no one else would get away with this, especially nintendo.
Don't give me that origins levels crap either, i have that game already.
I've haven't felt this enraged at a games length since dynamite cop on the dreamcast.

I feel like I need to bring up to the people that aren't getting this on Vita now (or not near launch) that we never even knew such a thing as Invaded versions of stages existed when the Vita version was announced, and we were all hyped as can be back then. I know, it's the principle of the thing. But it will still be a great game. I'm not forgiving their omission; its really disappointing, and I hope they have an excuse that will lead to them being added in, but its still the Rayman Legends we thought was coming up until a couple months ago when we heard about Invaded stages.

Well of course we didn't know about them months ago. We never know anything about game until release. Don't mean Vita owners should expect not to get the full game.

I mean months ago a grand total of what, 20 of the levels were probably shown off in trailers? Does that mean we should have expected and been happy with 20 levels in the final game? The game you think a game is before release is a lot more than just what you've seen in trailers.

When is the Vita version coming out?

Sept 3rd in NA. Sept 13th in EU.

No. You come to expect a full campaign and the Challenge mode, and we are getting those on Vita. Along with extras, like Kung Foot and Back to Origins. Just not all of the extras unfortunately. And I hope we find out why they're not in there.

Loving it so far. There are too many Murphy levels for my taste but I think there's a lot of content in this game.
Unfortunately I might not be able to platinum this because of that stupid "beat your friends' challenge scores 30 times" trophy...

Thanks. I'm definitely planing on buying this on Vita as well as on console or PC, unless they botch it badly in terms of framerate/visuals. Touch screen play IMO makes it unique enough on top of obvious portability. Do we know what the price it will be, and whether it still has 5 exclusive levels (despite missing the invasion levels?) Also, in what way are the graphics 'worse' on it?

It does still have five exclusive levels. Visuals are native resolution and 60fps. Only thing we are 100% with the graphics is that they are not 1080p. Which hardly seems like a criticism for "worse graphics" since the Vita screen resolution is nowhere near 1080p. The more important stat is that both the Vita version and the console versions render at their respective systems native resolution. So, in the regard, it doesn't have "worse graphics".

Unless the OP knows something we don't.

If you wanted you could probably make 30 dummy accounts, friend them, post really bad scores with them and then beat them on your main account : P

Loving this on PC so far. Any chance I'll somehow be able to convert my save across to the Vita version?

You'd hope UPlay would link your accounts or something.

You're probably right. The levels shown in the UK Vita trailer seemed to suggest specific levels, what with the lasers and such for Splinter Cell Globox, but I never realised these could be levels that are already in the game anyway and just suit the costumes. So sorry about that then.

I'm curious as to whether or not the Vita has the shading/lighting effects on characters and such, that the console versions have...

I could care less about invasion levels. I have a 360, WiiU and Vita and I'm picking Vita. I want it at home or Starbucks, or anywhere.

Yes. The videos and screenshots have indicated it looks pretty much exactly the same as the other versions.

Why don't you care for the invasion levels? they are really a lot of fun, I'd say among the top of the game and they are also the most challenging part of the game.

That was the only comparison screen that i could find. It was posted by VanWinkle so all credits to him.

For me, the least interesting part in Origins were the Time Trial sections. I really hate to rush through levels. I prefer to go through them slowly and collect each and everything. Still, i will wait and see what is the official reason of removing these levels before i buy it digitally.

Beaten the main story! And got 350/700 teensies.

Difficulty really ramps up near the end of that - good fun though. Suspect the further pain lies ahead in the invasions and some of the extra 'rescue' ones. Still got one painting to unlock.

Whoever thought the Living Dead Party levels were a good idea needs to get fired. I can handle a decent challenge, some of the invasion levels alone took good effort to gold them but this isn't even a challenge when it's damned near impossible to tell whats going on at times
(currently talking about mariachi madness 8 bit)
. It's borderline nauseating for a start. And the lack of checkpoints, either one or the other, I'd have taken no checkpoints in the normal version and checkpoints + screen distortions in the living dead levels instead. Very annoying.

I guess they want you to memorize every beat of the music and play it that way, I don't know.

Thought about that but basically one dummy account would be enough if I just barely beat the scores every time for the same account over and over again, right?

Same reason I barely touched the Coin Rush in NSMB2: I don't like time trials too much. They're fine enough, but I don't touch those modes.

Edit: I'm also often forced into Gamepad offscreen mode by the household, on WiiU. Gameplay often look washed out, not as crisp and just uglier than the game does on the TV. If I'm going to use the game like a portable, might as well be on a portable. With a better screen. Enter the Vita.

I was wrong about them cutting stuff out of Once Upon A Time (most of the missing stuff from the demo is split across the first world instead) and the difficulty isnt that bad imo. I think people forget the first four worlds in Rayman Origins are complete and total cakewalks, and the game definitely starts off more challenging than them. The challenge does ramp up but it never gets as difficult as the first game. Also I think for single player oriented players, the lack of invasion levels in the vita version will be a big deal. Those are the most difficult stages and are where the livid dead/treasure chase itch is scratched.

I think im more entertained overall with Legends but I also think Origins is the superior game from a level design standpoint. I dunno its weird. Ill make a longer post on my thoughts when ive cleared all of the stages.

I think thats exactly what they want you to do based on the Orchestral Chaos one. Jump on the beat and you flow through it perfectly. The pixel effect ones can take a fucking hike, but the faux CRT and static based 8bit runs are really cool imo
Stuck on the Dragon Slayer one, specifically the part when you're hopping on dragon backs. I keep winding up way behind the scrolling somehow.

EDIT- Luchador song is perfection

Completed it just now (all the legends levels, platinum trophy on the frame, still need to do Back to Origins levels). Mariachi madness was definitely the worst. 8 bit grannies world tour wasn't difficult, just very, very obnoxious.

I sort of feel a tad cheated in that the whole 5th level is just rehashes of old levels made intolerable with these screen distortions. The rest of the game was awesome but those levels are difficult for all the wrong reasons. Oh well, they are done now, thank god.
