Rayman Legends |OT| "It's a bit like a porno" (Michel Ancel) WiiU/360/PS3/Vita/PC

Batman Arkham Origins doesn't have multiplayer on Wii U and some GAFfers have already posted it should be cheaper because of its exclusion.

The Steam version of Rayman Legends is cheaper than the Vita version but with all the content. That alone completely destroys that argument when it comes to Legends.

And as far as Batman goes it shouldn't be cheaper. It just shouldn't be missing the content.

How much is RL Vita digital on US PSN though? On EU PSN it's around $50, BUT THAt's cuz stuff are always expensive on EU PSN.
Speaking of Steam, various games on Steam tend to be cheaper than on PSN (eg Deadpool)

Having a great time with this game. The artstyle is just amazing.

Any UKers order from Amazon? I put an order in two or three days ago, hasn't dispatched yet. I'm not too bothered because it's actually very cheap (like 26 quid for the 360 version) but it's pretty unusual for them to miss a dispatch date in my experience. Looks like they might have run out of stock and are getting more in today (the 31st) which is a good sign, right?

Actually had a similar experience with Payday 2 although they probably only stocked about 10 copies of that game.

Did play the demo on PC though, it's fucking rad. Hope those musical levels are as entertaining as WOOOOOOAHBLACKBETTY.

i ordered it from amazon.it, cheaper and came to my house this morning

Yeah I don't understand the move (if confirmed). Let's see how it turns. I'm getting the Vita version as well (portability rocks when train commuting) anyway.

Like I said......I want answers sooner rather than latter. I don’t want to have to wait till the game comes out to find out if they're going to patch in the levels. As far as I'm concerned it's confirmed to have missing levels. The thing we need to know is if they're going to include them later. They need to say something or I probably won’t even get the game until they do say something. I don't wanna go out and get the PS3 version only for them to turn around weeks later and say that they're adding in the levels for the Vita version. Gah, this is already pissing me off!

Lol I just checked on Amazon and there's barely a difference in prices of PS3 and Vita versions. There's about a £2 difference. That cheaper price justifying less content argument gets more pathetic by the minute.

Anyway I want answers from Ubisoft soon, and I want a confirmation of whether those levels are going to make it in to the Vita version at some point one way or another.

Was just flicking through some files when I came across the original leaked internal trailer for Rayman Legends. Interesting to note some of the stuff that differed from the final product.

This one is pretty self-explanatory:

This one seemed to refer to a social feature of some kind:

And I guess this one must've ended up on the cutting room floor when they dropped the NFC idea:

Started the game and am enjoying it.

I really, really hope it gets a lot more difficult.

The best things about the original were the brutal hard levels.

Wow that Vita news is such a bummer. At least Ubisoft was kind enough to give Origins out for free for PS+ members this month, kind of a polite way of saying to not buy the game :/

the vita version was made in casablanca , they share some of the content but not all of it , it is probably more complicated than all of you think , there is no port on vita magic button

Yes, but the problem is that we got no indication whatsoever that the Vita version was missing content. And, for a lot of us, that's a pretty big bummer, because a brunt of the platforming challenge comes from those "Invaded" stages.

The chase levels where the fire is following you seem like a massive con.

The flame wall barely moves when you stand still.

Have we got a official confirmation/reason yet?

If not, we should swarm the comments section of the next store update on PS Blog and ask about Invasion levels on VITA.

Well, I asked about it on the Ubisoft blog. Hopefully we'll hear something by Monday. A guy on a Vita website who reviewed the Vita version didn't realize it didn't have the Invaded levels until I asked him about it, and he was kind of shocked. He said he is e-mailing Ubisoft PR because "the review materials were really vague about whether it was in the Vita version". So hopefully we'll hear something soon.

If anyone has the Vita version all they have to do is check the trophy list and see if the trophies for the invasion levels are gone.

And I like that idea of swarming the comments section. They shouldn’t get away with this. I really wanna love the Vita version! :(

Yeh, i am going to pick it digitally on launch week but i am still confused over all this missing level stuff. I see almost no reason for it. Rayman Origins was like 1 GB on VITA and its not like Legends will have space issues to cut content =/

Just played the first music level and this game can probably do no wrong now.
That was awesome!

Sucks about the Vita version.
But I imagine that the game would be kind of less than ideal on the small screen anyway.
The game kind of relies on having a large view of the surrounding area.

Pff, I hate time attacks. Origin at least had them in ghost form that you could challenge friends with over Near, which I think wasn't in any of the other versions. Do we know anything about Near features in this one?

Personally I much prefer the Vita bonus levels from what I've seen so far and not having to do levels with Murphy behind button prompts, which I really didn't care for in the PS3 demo.

So for now, still keeping the Vita version as my main version.

@Dan: the Vita version actually supports pinch to zoom anywhere, like Origins did on Vita.

I do seem to be the only person that's disappointed.
You'll probably love it.
but to me coming from origins (which was close to being perfect)
i was expecting a lot more.
it has so much potential, but the lack of actual new content is what's annoying me.

And i don't count the daily challenge levels as being extra new levels.
almost all of them, even if they do change daily, are just stages taken from the 5 world's.
your just competing with other players for scores.

Again, everyone else here thinks that the game is one of the best platform games ever made so i wouldn't worry.
it's probably just me.

Not just you. I agree. I still liked it, but it was far easier than Origins and I got through it rather quickly.

Anyone know if these are actually any good? They'd have to be pretty incredible to make up for all the invasion levels.

They could never make up for the lack of the Invaded stages, but you should know these 5 exclusive levels are Murfy levels. I'm sure they're pretty good, but yeah.

your telling me, it's a joke, i was running away at first.
For some reason i tried walking and it was ok.
you can actually just press forward, no need for running most of the time.

I'd be surprised if this game was made by exactly the same team as origins.
i've got a strong feeling that a lot of different people worked on this.
either that or they must have spent ages trying to figure out what to do with the wii -u pad,
leaving no time for the actual core rayman levels.
even moves like running up walls are just left behind and unused.

so many great memories of stringing together wall running, wall jumping between gaps and timing my jumps perfectly to reach the tops of things in origins.
It's all but abandoned in this game, i can understand lowering the difficulty for wii u casual co-op audience but it's still a shame.

Not just you. I agree. I still liked it, but it was far easier than Origins and I got through it rather quickly.
Good to know that i'm not just getting bitter, old and jaded.
when everyone said it might be the best platformer for 15 years i couldn't contain myself.
then i played it.....
are people seriously saying this is better than donkey kong country returns or mario galaxy 1+2?
rayman origins was amazing, this is hardly a step up from that though, i'd say it's one step forward two step's back.

Yeah you can really tell where the Wii U crap seeps in.

I really hope that if we get a sequel to this game the Wii U bullshit stays at home.

I have only just finished the first world, but if the difficulty is crippled because of having to incorporate the Wii U pad thing, I will be mega disappointed.

Seems as though there's not much challenge in this game from reading the reactions around here.

When I heard about Origins levels coming back my spider sense started tingling then tbh.

Shame. I loved Origins.

Just completed the first underwater level.
WOW!

So beautiful and the music is amazing. It could be from a Bond movie!

Rayman water levels are the only that I enjoy.

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
Gamefly just shipped my copy (for WiiU). I feel bad that I'm not purchasing such a great game but then again:
A. I'm a college student
B. September is packed with good games

I don't blame Ubisoft for delaying Legends (and making it multiplatform), but this would have been an instant purchase for me back in Feburary.

I wouldn't blame it on the wii u at all, it's ubisoft's decision.
and besides, from the looks of it, being easy seems to have done the game wonders
in terms of review scores and most peoples impressions here on neogaf.
i however, am gutted that it's ended up like this.
when i was getting gold cups and rescuing every teensie on every level in the first world i assumed that it was still early, not to worry it'll pick up later on.
but no...
world 4 and five was the same, and this is on my first run through.
I'm been getting gold cups and finding all the teensies on every single level
aside from maybe one or two on the levels which force you forward.
Rayman origins at least made you work for your lums, and rewarded you with gold cups.
this one hands them out even when your not trying hard.

Maybe being easy really does help you in terms of review scores and feedback.
Maybe that's what the majority want, but it's a shame for the few that really liked the challenge origins had.

Eh, no? The Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell themed levels are extra besides the five Murphy levels that the Wii U also has. Just check the Vita trailer footage.

I was told that there was no "Mecha No Mistake" but i'm pretty sure I just witnessed the stage locked away just out of my reach, dammit I need more scratch cards!

Is this the part where just to muddy the waters further we find out that the Wii U version got more Origins stages? maybe everyone here was just telling me it wasn't in so i'd be all the more happier when I saw it.

Obviously the same black magic that ensured The Wonderful 101 is such a breeze to perfect.

Rayman 2 (1999) was a complete breeze compared to the first game. Clearly, this was because of the Wii U!

Oh there's a reason for that, it was that damn N64 version of Rayman 2 that caused that difficulty drop!

wasnt it stated from very early on that this game will be easie than origins because the devs felt that origins was too hard and that made a lot of people not finish the game?

Really??? I don't remember that article.
Part of the draw is the difficulty.
DK country returns is probably as difficult if not a bit more. The games could be finished by the younger crowd but to get all the challenges complete is pretty hard core.

Edit. If DKTF pulls this shit I'm out.

I just played the PC demo and good god, I love this game. I don't know why I was down on the new art style when I first saw it. The 3D stuff is lovely, the new lighting is brilliant, etc.

i don't remember that at all.
It's one thing to tone down the difficulty so that everyone can get through the game.
It's another thing altogether changing the lum counter thing so that it's easy to get enough for gold cups.
before, you really had to work and master the later stages to get gold.
there is almost no challenge in that either now.
Make it easier to get to the end if you must, but don't make it easy to master.
besides, rayman origins wasn't that hard to get to the end. kids these days...

Early on, when you see the vertical cucumber and become small go up the chain to the left.

By the way, remember how Ubi was trying to sell one level as a Wii-U exclusive? Well, I thought I'd see what it's like and whaddaya know... it's not.

Yay for insanely obtuse PR.

Maybe this level is not in the Vita version, so the touch-version of the level is Wii U exclusive? Remember that the Invasion levels can't be everything that's missing.
