There is clearly much more geometry in play here, the textures are of higher resolution, and the lighting model is fully unified. That's a pretty big jump over RE4...
However, the overall picture doesn't look too far beyond. Still, all those improvements coupled with 720p+ and the posisbility of 60 fps really excites me.
The content itself is really appealing, though.

Aargghh. I've got to wait until I get home from work to dl the trailer (which is like 8 hours from now).
And I agree with the people saying this isn't a huge step up. Its a nice step up but not that big. If the Revolution is only 3 times more powerful than the Gamecube I think it could still manage to handle this game. Then again, all I've had to go on so far are the screens. Maybe the video will change my mind.

looks nice but I still don't understand why people are getting all excited, anyone remember when RE4 was announced and then what date it was released?

Take the concept of the trailer and consider the gameplay of RE4. Realize that there could be changes/improvements made to the formula and mash it all together. You now have a basic idea of how the game will look and play. That should be enough to get excited.

I think people need to get their eyes checked. This looks amazing compared to R4 or anything out there right now. I'm not sure what people expect from next generation, but if we get this kind of clear and detailed graphics I will be a happy man. Try to freeze the frame near the end... see how detailed the characters eye is with eyelashes and everything.
